    Oh yes! Tree law! Killing someone else's plants is a big no no. Not only can you sue for the cost of the mature plants (which can run into tens of thousands of dollars) but there may also be criminal charges depending on the type of plant and whether or not it was a protected species, also, trespassing is illegal.

    • @TyroRNG
      @TyroRNG 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Didn't look like trespassing, more like extreme negligence when spraying their own land.
      Don't get me wrong, whether trough negligence or by intent the neighbors should be held accountable for the damages to the plants and land. (The only difference would probably be the amount of punative damages.)

Not actual helpful things like helping them work towards putting their lives back together and get food and shelter, no, it's all about removing benches, or putting lumps and spikes on surfaces to make it uncomfortable to sleep on etc. Disgraceful and uncaring behaviour.

    At my previous complex, the apartment below mine had a substantial leak. They thought it was from my bathroom, so they spent several hours looking for it, running all the taps... nope. Turns out it was the apartment next to mine, whose bathroom was on the other side of the wall from my bathroom. Come a couple months later, the leak is back. "Your apartment is leaking into the downstairs apartment again." I told them the conclusion from last time, and sure enough after another several hours of looking for the leak it turns out it was the people in the apartment next to mine.
    For the "microcheating", it is plausibly fair to posit that certain actions while not cheating in and of themselves are symptoms of problems in one's relationship or signs of potential romantic-sexual interest in a person outside of their steady relationship. This said, nothing described logically feels like any of such "certain actions". Least of all since the OP's boyfriend seems pretty solidly to not be giving into any potential or desire to cheat.

    I also went to PAX, but only Nintendo Day, with my bro, SIL, & my 7 yr old niece. I had to be in my wheelchair since there was a lot of walking to be expected & both my knees (bone death, thanks steroids 😐) & lower back (lipomatosis, also thanks to steroids 😒) wouldn't even allow me to walk from the parking garage to the door of the convention center. There wasn't much info about what to expect in a wheelchair only, so I was really worried about getting in the way & being a burden to my party. I was surprised every time we were given practically a VIP treatment at every line, even the pop up shop where my brother alone was waiting for 45 min before I was going to join him in line & my SIL saw a wheelchair line up at the front with only a 5 min wait. It was hard to get through the crowds, but it felt really empowering to finally be an advantage, able to make an event smoother & more fun, not a burden who slows everything down & makes every resentful. Had an amazing time & owe that to either the Nintendo event team or the conference hall for making it so!

    Okay so about the adapted apartment... I have a similar story that ended up really well actually despite the year or so of pain it caused me. I've said this story before I'm pretty sure but I'm saying it again to prove not everybody is a dick out there. Anyways. A really long time ago (about 8 or so years ago) we had new neighbours move in. One next door on the same floor and one upstairs. We live in a long apartment building. And these people moved into our door number. The upstair neighbour started to do maintenance to the house which immediately caused us some trouble. The alarm would go off at random because of them. According to my dad it's probably because them working was making our windows vibrate enough for the alarm sensor to go off on it's own. So we kept it turned off for the time being. We don't really need an alarm. My dad bought it to install it in a friend's house but they ended up getting another one so he installed it in our home instead. One day though completely unrelated, my mom called me as I was volunteering for the community. I tried resolving the issue as best as I could but it didn't make sense. According to her the tv had no signal and not even re-signaling (or re-installing) the channels worked. It just wasn't working. In every room that had a tv. We waited a bit thinking it was a temporary issue. It didn't get resolved. We called a technician and he said everything was good. He even charged us for the work he didn't do but that's another story. We later heard on the community group chat that this was a problem many others had aswell. So we thought it was the antenna that was the problem. The one on the building. The building owner fixed the issue but our tv still didn't work. At this point my mom decided to go upstairs and have a chat with the neighbour directly above us. He says he doesn't really know and he'll look into it. Apparently he didn't know that the cabling in our building is done cascade style. So the cable in his house starts from the third floor and goes down perpendicular to the floor. Not horizontally but vertically. So in renovating the apartment he cut the line to our home. So we couldn't get any kind of signal. Hence why when the technician checked out cable box it was perfect and intact so the issue didn't come from us. He quickly fixed it and joined the cable with ours and we hadn't had an issue since. Our tv works fine. And he fixed the issue in less than an hour.

    Oh gods, I had a similar experience with a coworker falsely reporting me (or, at least I'm pretty sure it was a coworker, never actually got confirmation). Allegedly, someone had reported to my manager that I was yelling and swearing at a coworker. The coworker in question happened to be a dude around my age, who would've had ZERO problem decking me had I actually done so, and absolutely would not have just stood there as I verbally assaulted him. I ended up being fired a couple months later, as my manager (a different one, who suddenly decided she hated me the moment she was promoted to manager) told our boss that I was constantly calling out of work with no warning. The truth was that I was experiencing some medical issues that resulted in moderate nausea when doing a small part of my job, and that same manager told me out-right that "if you're too sick to drive, you're too sick to work." The kicker is, another coworker of mine strongly preferred driving because he had a foot injury several months back and it hurt to stand for extended periods of time. So, instead of letting me and another coworker swap duties (both of us had proper experience and training for both duties), they instead lost out on an entire worker. Still pissed off about it, and it was almost a year ago now. Hope they enjoyed training a newbie after losing one of their hardest workers who actually knew what the hell they were doing.
    Evidently they actually started to go downhill with a lot of my coworkers leaving after me. Karma served.
    Edit: Oh, and yeah, I provided PLENTY of warning every time I had to call out because I was too nauseous to spend 6+ hours of my day driving around. The store policy was you had to provide at least 2 hours notice, and most times I actually ended up calling out the night before, because I knew my body and knew my limits. It was also HIGHLY illegal to fire someone for medical issues, so the "official" reason I was told I was being fired is that we live in an "at-will" state, meaning they can fire me for absolutely no reason what-so-ever with zero warning. Didn't even bother to call me, right before I clocked in my boss stopped me and said "don't bother".
    My new job has me sitting at the front desk, dealing with far nicer customers, a manager that I like, and the ability to do homework/crochet/game/ect just as long as I'm able to address customers the instant they walk up to me. The commute is a bit longer, but soooooo worth it. And I no longer have to answer the phone! In fact, I've actually been told not to by my manager, because there are like, five other people who's entire job it is to answer the phone.

My favorite New York water tower was the super tall green one in West Hempstead. It was unfortunately torn down last year, and it truly was a unique design. I loved it. And instead of spending a little bit more money to restore it to its former glory, they decided to replace it with a generic composite water tower. It's very sad to see these magnificent structures go, which is why I hope I can work for Maguire Iron and design water towers like the old ones.

And if you create too much of a fuss and scream too much at the staff they could have the right to actually kick you out of the hotel. ALWAYS leave any ranting till morning, that way you get a General Manager and not just a manager.
    The other thing is this, were they using actual keys, or card access, for the doors. If the door is key access, how can you NOT notice a set of keys missing for the guest. If it card access, how can they not notice in the system that its already assigned to someone, meaning the card would NOT have worked if you were meant ot be in a different room.
