Just a tip for other people reading. I had mine in a better condition (wasn’t as scratched) and all I used to remove it was rubbing alcohol (with terry cloth). Save your time on scraping it off. It took me a few minutes and it was spotless. Just a little tip for others to save time 🙂

Cheers mate, I did this on my V36 Skyline thanks to your video. In Australia we don't have the black appliance paint. But that brand make a gloss outdoor furniture paint which looks the same, just takes 2 days to cure. Isopropol & a rag definitely gave me a more consistent cleaned surface.
Just bought a 2007 g35 that had this same exact issue, I used bumper and trim paint and it came it really good and completely change the whole look of my interior. Nice video

I used isopropyl alcohol to remove the black rubberized paint. It came off quickly. I am wrapping the trim with matte black vinyl.
I did this but I sanded off the old stuff and then I put a black base coat then I hydrodipped them black/ gold and it’s 🔥
I just did mine, the best thing to clean it off with after scraping the black paint is Isopropyl alcohol with a mildly abrasive scrubbing pad like the one in this video.
I've tried goo-gone, turpentine and steel wool. But Isopropyl alcohol worked the best with the green scrubbing pad.

I pryed the little clamps with a screwdriver. It should come off pretty easily
I was really hoping to find a solvent that would peel that crap off. Mine look worse than what you showed. I tried GooGone, works OK but the whole process takes too long.
_Edit:_ Scrape with spudger/panel tool, hit with scrub pad, then steel wool, THEN GooGone, wash with soapy water. My only issue now is I got bubbles in the paint of the driver door. FML.

Only problem...it's a fingerprint magnet, but looks nice tho and might try it with my g35 steering wheel trim.

It's holding up well, no chip or scratches. Paint seems to be pretty tough in this environment so far.
Would you recommend that paint for the steering wheel?
Buy a steering wheel cover that you sew. It'll look factory new.
Me actually could have just sat and nail polish remover and it would have all floated to the top of the container and you could have pulled it out and it would have been completely clean without all of that extra effort

2-3 coats, the appliance paint has very good coverage.
How did you pop the clamps off? I have my panel out but can't disconnect it from the buttons
It all clips together, if you look closely there are tabs that you have to lift and the button control section will release.

Plastic pry tool
I just did it. Used a flathead screwdriver. Started on the edge where the cushion was else I was denting the plastic of the door handle.
I did not attempt to pry on the tips as I too was afraid I would snap it
Anyone doing this, Appliance epoxy takes weeks to fully cure & IT WILL orange peel, In order to sand & polish you should wait about 2-3 weeks after it’s painted, Far easier to us flat black then a clear coat, Looks better as well, Don’t use the appliance epoxy folks
Man you shaved YEARS off the interior with that gloss black im doing this
I feel like that black interior on the gs where cheaply made
How many hours between coats?
I just put a few coats about 10min apart. This stuff dries forever so wait at least 24hrs before messing with them.
The silver trim is cheap and looks horrible over time. Mine looks exactly like that
Pull it off and vinyl wrap it. It'll look new and you can change the style, maybe carbon fiber look. All those pieces snap off easily.
