I’ve been sticking with Caddy’s channel for past decade, and through all its ups and downs I’m glad Caddy has finally gotten to 1 million subscribers, it’s something he truly deserves.
I admit I've maybe rewatched most of Caddy's videos "too many" times, but I can't help it. They're perfect background noise for me...and a perfect sense of humor to rewatch just for fun too. The amount of times me and my brother-in-law quote "It's pretty high tech" or "Unless you're gay, then...get out!" should be illegal.
Caddy is truly awesome, although his format has changed a bit his style and jokes haven’t. It’s honestly seamless whenever you go back through his catalogue. The only differences are where he records, what he looks like and the way he presents his videos/critiques games. I always go back to my favorites whenever he uploads and all of his stuff from the past decade is just pure gold. He’s a comfort channel and I can’t thank this lovely bearded man more for what games or subjects he’s brought to my attention.

It is genuinely upsetting that Caddy’s Older Videos brought him so much misery. For me and many of my friends they brought so much laughter and joy but that just shows that the whole TH-cam business is way harder than it looks no matter the final output. I’m so glad you switched to the new format which I’ve found just as fun if not incredibly addicting to binge watch so Godspeed Caddy.

He probably recorded the camera footage first and then watched it back while recording himself imitating the walk, so he'd know when to turn and when to sit.

I absolutely love how the shot with Caddy talking to Olli pans between Olli standing at the door, then Caddy talking to an off screen Olli while a mirror shows Olli filming him definitely not where Caddy is looking. And I especially like that it wasn't deliberately pointed out, just left there.
A lot of viewers don't understand that creating the content takes SO MUCH LONGER than consuming it. Making videos usually isn't as easy as people think. Seeing a content creator's perspective like this is great to help them understand!
"I'm just looking for a joke." I admire that. I mean, I enjoy AVGN too, knowing James just plays a character, but there are TH-camrs who just go into genue mad rantings. Taking it so lightly is the key to make videos a viewer could enjoy and makes them happy instead of angry.

The fact that sponsors are legally required to have a sentient flying kite with hands and shoes appear for you to promote their product is so amazing, and I love it. For real, as always, I love seeing the behind the scenes of any content creator, seeing all the usually overlooked hard work that goes into the stuff we enjoy is always a blast and helps us understand the side of the people we love. God, imagining some of the weird interactions with people who see you doing the crazy shit you do for your videos is almost funnier than the bit themselves, but also I salute you for being able to go through all that and still continue to do it without being paranoid about getting seen, like I would be if I tried to do most of it.

I came back after the shift and immediately it was apparent how much more you could do without the restriction. I will always appreciate a creator that can change their style for the betterment of themselves and their content. I appreciate it, thank you. For me though, it's not JUST the quality of the videos themselves. For any creative person, that goes without saying. There's a lot of heavy underlying personal reasons why I have chosen to distance myself from pre-2020 videos. Family reasons, life event reasons, mental health reasons, etc. I've come through all of it and everything is totally okay, but I've got far too many awful memories from my worklife before 2020 for me to look back that fondly - and all I see when catching clips from older videos is exactly where I was and what was happening when I was making that specific video. When people quote certain lines from older videos at me, all I hear are influences from very bad people in my life. Even with something as silly as the game topics I covered back then, all I think of are the manipulative ideas from very bad people in my life, hahaha. I'm rambling though, sorry! I'm proud of what I have done in the past, and I have loved all the great memories I've made with things outside of the channel (conventions etc), but I very much prefer to keep looking to the future. Can't live in the past n all that shit

I started watching because of my boyfriend at the time, when I was around 19-20 years old. I remember we would sit and watch together. We specially loved the videos that included caddy's sister because they were so funny together and we would repeat parts of the videos until they became inside jokes. I found the channel again a few months ago (even though I was subscribed I hadn't watched in years -I'm 29 now) in my recommended with the jesus video. I enjoyed it so much and proceeded to watch all the other new-ish videos. It's amazing because the videos and caddy himself are so different, but still have the same kind of humour that makes me pause the video to laugh out loud. I think is one of the rare cases of the content growing up with you

You’ve helped me through depression, anxiety, and just general bad moments throughout the years and helped me become the person I am today. I absolutely love seeing everybody's editing methods, as some of them line up with one another and some are so different, but get the "same" results. It can be tough to recognize the amount of time and energy that goes into making ONE piece of artwork . Congrats on 1 million! The fact that sponsors are legally required to have a sentient flying kite with hands and shoes appear for you to promote their product is so amazing, and I love it. For real, as always, I love seeing the behind the scenes of any content creator, seeing all the usually overlooked hard work that goes into the stuff we enjoy is always a blast and helps us understand the side of the people we love.

That was actually why I stopped watching for awhile, it all felt very routine and similar to one another. I came back after the shift and immediately it was apparent how much more you could do without the restriction. I will always appreciate a creator that can change their style for the betterment of themselves and their content. Been with ya since the 3rd review, your growth as a creator in multiple aspects of creation is always an inspiration, one of my favorites to watch grow in the past decade.

I appreciate it, thank you. For me though, it's not JUST the quality of the videos themselves. For any creative person, that goes without saying. There's a lot of heavy underlying personal reasons why I have chosen to distance myself from pre-2020 videos. Family reasons, life event reasons, mental health reasons, etc. I've come through all of it and everything is totally okay, but I've got far too many awful memories from my worklife before 2020 for me to look back that fondly - and all I see when catching clips from older videos is exactly where I was and what was happening when I was making that specific video. When people quote certain lines from older videos at me, all I hear are influences from very bad people in my life. Even with something as silly as the game topics I covered back then, all I think of are the manipulative ideas from very bad people in my life, hahaha.
I'm rambling though, sorry! I'm proud of what I have done in the past, and I have loved all the great memories I've made with things outside of the channel (conventions etc), but I very much prefer to keep looking to the future. Can't live in the past n all that shit

Your honesty when discussing the creative process is a breath of fresh air. It’s not something one can truly copy and paste, everyone works and flows differently. Art in any form is a constant process of improvement, plateaus and self critique followed by more improvement. The important thing is merely to keep going knowing that every moment you spend working towards something creatively you are improving.

I started watching because of my boyfriend at the time, when I was around 19-20 years old. I remember we would sit and watch together. We specially loved the videos that included caddy's sister because they were so funny together and we would repeat parts of the videos until they became inside jokes. I found the channel again a few months ago (even though I was subscribed I hadn't watched in years -I'm 29 now) in my recommended with the jesus video. I enjoyed it so much and proceeded to watch all the other new-ish videos. It's amazing because the videos and caddy himself are so different, but still have the same kind of humour that makes me pause the video to laugh out loud. I think is one of the rare cases of the content growing up with you

As a more PlayStation oriented person, it was nice to have a funny, genuine person reviewing games on a console I cared about. You’ve helped me through depression, anxiety, and just general bad moments throughout the years and helped me become the person I am today. For as much as they are just funny videos, I feel like I’m seeing a friend get the success he deserves for all the help he’s given me. I absolutely love seeing everybody's editing methods, as some of them line up with one another and some are so different, but get the "same" results. It can be tough to recognize the amount of time and energy that goes into making ONE piece of artwork . Congrats on 1 million!
