This is seriously awesome! Doug was such a talented and freakish strength athlete so good to learn more about him!
I found it somewhat amusing that they had 1951 Mr. America Roy Hilligenn standing on a platform to allow him to tower over the reporter and Doug Hepburn. Hilligenn was one of the shortest Mr. America's standing at 5'6'' tall. Doug Hepburn was one of the first men to bench press 500 lbs. Overall, this is an interesting historical piece of footage for weightlifters and bodybuilders alike. Thanks for sharing.
How fascinating, and how it takes me back to my youth (in the early 60s). D.H. was a living legend and well worth remembering. Many thanks for sharing this piece of history, amazingly still available!
Have a cigar! You won't see that in the modern gym.😀😀
Fascinating 🙋🙏
thanks for this
Women were seeking "figure contours" and poise. Hepburn was a tank.
Its amazing we have this footage. Also their English is interesting. SoLder is still pronounced.
Awesome
People still have the attitude of the couple that looked in the window.

unlikely gear would be being used hear and that being said the way doug just lifted that 280 pounds was even more impressive!!
When was the last time you saw someone doing handstand push-ups at your local gym?
