Thomas M. Wtf how are they sjw's? When have they tackled societal problems. When have they attacked majorities? Just because they try not to offend anyone doesn't mean they're sjws
(Jeremy) Hey everyone! We're back with our first attempt at the Partner Commanders that were bestowed upon us by Suzan. Check out how some of these pairing interact with each other and marvel at my inability to search within the time limits!
Hey Jeremy, I would like to see you guys should do a episode of tribal. also i would like to see someone play a 5-color elemental tribal deck using Horde of Notions as the commander.
Idea for next season to harness potential salt. Call it Blood Feud or Vendetta. Each of you gets to initiate one blood feud a season. you declare a feud with the offending player and if you are the one to defeat them next game you get an extra 1/2 points (whichever fits better) however if you fail in your feud or they kill you, you lose a point
a good advice for you guys: "even though there is the fetchrule in place, just put all the fetchable duals in a seperated pile besides your deck. whenever you would draw or fetch, you can then just put it into play without shuffling for 1min. if you would naturally draw the dual you can then put the placeholder to the side and put in the real one. if you already fetched for said land you just put the placeholder aside and draw again" pls guys keep up the good work so far PS: tell stephen to play his lands (didnt play one on his t4) PSS: also jonathan cheatcount 2, fetching overgrown tomb with arid mesa and then recasting his commander that got bounced by reflector mage
The decks were a lot of fun this week; but particularly Stephen's theme :) I think the games that don't end up in top deck wars are a lot more fun to watch - having decks/commanders that let everyone draw cards keeps the pace up a lot.
episode request #1: all cards including basic lands using the pre-modern frame episode request #2: each deck only has cards from one block and blocks that are returns to that plane episode request #3: non-partner commanders with less than 100 builds on edhrec episode request #4: all cards only printed in commander pre-cons episode request #5: each deck themed around your favorite TV show, movie, book, video game, comic, etc.
ALSO, REQUEST!!! I would love for Stephen Green to play an upgraded SASKIA DECK. Either making it as powerful as he can OR to have all creatures who are pointing. Meaning he can point constantly throughout the video when he plays his spells. #MIGHTYPOINT!
Ludevic doesn't cause people to draw whenever Stephen loses life. He is the "you" the ability refers too. So many cards drawn that shouldn't have been drawn.
sdrobi662d That's true but it only dies if it goes to the graveyard. the commander going to the command zone is a replacement effect so it doesn't trigger death effects.
"When this creature dies" is shorthand for "When this creature is put into a graveyard from the battlefield". Putting your commander into the command zone when it would go to the graveyard is a replacement effect, and your commander never actually goes to the graveyard. Therefore, your commander never really "Dies", so it does not trigger effects on creatures going to the graveyard.
Hey guys!! Long time viewer and lover of this series and I have some ideas for you for the last episode of this season. Each commander I believe will highlight the strength of each player and play the way they like to play. They are a bit more on the competitive side but I believe you guys will make them fun because that's what you do best!! Now on to the commanders! Justin: Meren of clan nel toth. The reason why is because I am also a Meren player and I understand the love for this wonderful necromancer! Steven: Omnath, Locus of rage Steven I have seen you flood out so many times and it's time for you to turn that curse into 5/5 beating face creatures of rage!!!! Jeremy: Damia, Sage of Stone I know your love for the sultai colors so I had to decide between this and Leovold. You can go with ether or but I figured Damia was more fun, so long as villainous wealth ;). John: Breya, Etherium Shaper This was a hard choice because you are just so good all around but I know your love for combos and this is the best combo deck out there right now! I figured you would enjoy it! I am sorry I don't have decklists for you guys since I simply don't have time to make them (medschool yay!) but pleases enjoy these ideas for the season finale!
Man, id love to see them do a non-creature commander episode... Where plansewalkers or non-legendary are allowed. (maybe change the color restriction to a choice for things like mirari) Any one successfully done a deck-list with this idea?
Great video, I love it when you guys are in "fun-mode" and not being overly competitive. Want to hashtag in #MarduMeld as it gives the greatest chance to get at least one meld off. Keep up the excellent work (that goes for the great director and his silly sidebars as well).
I would really enjoy a game of Emperor commander, with the added bonus of having special guest stars! Beyond that, I'd like to see how you'd build "can't win in commander" decks. I can't recall a winning white weenie or burn deck? Lastly I would like to see Jeremy play an alt-win condition deck, playing all cards that say "you win the game".
This as yet another great well played game by the four of you. :) Good job!!! Now I am just thinking out loud here, but I do remember a video back in time where you guys drafted for sets. That was a really good episode and I believe that was before seasons were a thing, you guys think you could do that again???
Suarez mad he couldn't play Winter Orb this week(I bought out SCG) so he fetches Overgrown Tomb off Arid Mesa AND tries to attack with Sun Titan the same turn he cast it...you dirty, dirty cheater John....thanks for the shout out at the end(at least I assume you were talking about me!!!)
Did Stephen just make a Malazan book of the fallen reference at the end? Those books are amazing. About suggestions, I'd like to see Jonathan Suarez play Saskia the unyielding with a tokens build.
Drawing a card of Ludevic at around min 47 (everyone lost life of cutthroat) is something that can change the game a bit more then just a missplay at fetching. GG though! Keep it up :)
this was a fun one :):) how was john gonna attack with sun titan right away though, did i miss it getting haste? and then he shouldnt have been able to cast it right away because of reflector mage..right?
1:19:51 Stephen doesn't return to two cards to the top of his library and then pays 7 for rite of replication when he should've paid 8 (goblin electromancer reduced it by 1 colorless; normally costs 9). That's not mistakes...
So, instead of picking commanders that are in their comfort zones (and since Stephen said he doesn't want to play anything within red or green), here's some decks that are different than usual, but close enough to home that they can still enjoy them: Jeremy: Seen him play a lot of decks with red and black, but I don't remember him playing Mardu. Since I don't think they've used Oros recently, it seems like a nice fit. Stephen: Since he doesn't want red or green this time, I looked into Orzhov since Stephen has said he's not really the biggest fan of blue. OG Teysa has some interesting potential considering that there are some standard cards with b/w tokens potential #ServoItUp Jon: Unless I'm mistaken, Jon's favorite colors are red and blue. An interesting change would be to see what he does when green is mixed in as well. Riku provides the instants and sorceries that R/U wants while forcing Jon to also focus on a creature strategy. Justin: We know Justin loves black. This is a fact. However, the Ravnican combo with black he's played the least is Dimir, and when he does, it's usually some sort of zombie or creature-based strategy (i.e. Gisa and Geralf). So, I think it's only fair that one time, Justin should play the most controlly blue/black deck he possibly can. Not recommending any generals, just saying that he should make a deck that shuts down everyone else's plans. However he wishes to do that is fine by me
Just realized Johnathan wanted to attack with Sun Titan but I don't see any reason why it should've haste I mean he played it in that turn so you wouldn't needed to do anything in that turn. You could've waited. But I know how that is. Sometimes a turn takes so long you forgotten that the creature just entered the battlefield xD
Legendary Equipment! (Or Aura). I'd allow the swords from Mirrodin to count too. Or Praetors? Or mechanic-themed, like a deck built around infect, revolt, undying/persist etc?
I commented the Tymna-Reflector play, continued the video, saw them correct it, deleted the comment, continued the video again, and then they called me out. Now I'm certain they are all psychic
Funny thing about Reyhan. You can trigger her by blinking her with CERTAIN blink effects. I'll let you work out how that happens. I just hope Stephen figured it out too.
The Most Contested Cutthroat good episode y'all. smooth, funny, minimal cheating. 7.5/10 where CNN is a 0 and looking out the window at the ocean is 10.
Ah, is it time for requests once again? I'm still hoping my boy Jeremy will pick up Archangel Avacyn and rain deserved justice down upon the group! She's quite fun when built to maximize her flip trigger. Or if that's not an option, would love to see Jeremy take Yidris for a spin. :) As always, love the videos guys. Keep up the great work!
My requests of commanders I play =] Justin- Meren of Clan Nel Toth (because I know how much you love her) Jeremy- Thrasios/Kydele (no villainous wealth but plenty of fun X spells and right up your alley) John- Brago Stax (with every winter orb effect stuffed into it, how bow dah?) Stephen- Jhoira of the Ghitu (my favorite deck for my favorite player on commander vs! Plus it's not gruul or boros colors!) #teamgreen
Sram's Expertise drops 3 drops, Tymna is a three drop. I'd love to see more flavorful decks. Stephens deck, for example, was pretty flavorful and was enjoyable to see played
After you guys finish these two random episodes, could you do an episode where you each choose two partners to use? I'd love to see Stephen play Tana + Sidar for saproling swarm
Just a question, does the Vial Smasher trigger counts as commander damage? Since the card reads "Vial Smasher the Fierce deals damage equals to the spell's CMC to an opponent chosen at random"... Even if not, that goblin is savage XD
I love it when Jon does tier 1 stuff to people. my request is for jon to take a return to leovold and lock his opponents so hard they lose to chronatog.
What is the rule of the card" Victim of night" does the card mean all monsters or one, it said's ''Destory target non-vampire, non-werewolf, and non-zombie creatures''
curious to see what Jeremy will do with Silas in esper colours next week. Should be good. Now I really want to try vial smasher and ravos with lots of evoke creatures
how is it that Jonathan was able to attack with his Sun Titan the turn he cast it? does he have some global haste effect Im missing? Or is he just cheating. Again. Just because you make your turn take so long the table should have wheeled already, doesn't mean it did.
while mistakes were made with the fetch land and sun titan, its really amusing how many people evidently didnt watch the entire video before commenting on 'mistakes' that they saw, such as mycoloth, zulaport cutthroat and brainstorm, as these were noticed and corrected before any harm was done
Okay, so this may be fitting for Jeremy only to play, but somebody need to run a R/G group hug ramp deck. As in Manaa flare, Overabundance, Zhur-taa Ancient stuff with collective voyage. Other colors can help, but if you go Gruul you'll still have a ton of fun with it.
Request: Recreate some of the most famous decks from Modern/Legacy/Vintage/Extended in commander form. Examples include Manaless Dredge, Cephalid Breakfast, Reanimator, Belcher, Death and Taxes, Splinter Twin, Delver, Tron...
Hey I would love to see you guys build Decks without permanents. (Stuff that creates Tokens is fine) I have no clue if you could build 4 different Decks, but I am know you guys would make it very entertainign. Also for the last game of the season someone should play Genju of the Realm (if you akzept him as a Commander), playing a deck without creatures (or with creatures, I would just like to see him as a Commander). love the show keep up the good work
I would like to see you guys play with the crew members of the Weatherlight story in Magic. Who, out of all of them is the coolest in your opinions, and who do you think would win? I have a list of them in their card forms to choose from: 1. Gerrard Capashen 2. Captain Sisay 3. Hanna, Ship's Navigator 4. Tahngarth, Talruum Hero 5. Orim, Samite Healer 6. Ertai, Wizard Adept 7. Karn, Silver Golem 8. Mirri, Cat Warrior (my favorite!) 9. Crovax, Ascendant Hero 10. Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary 11. Starke of Rath 12. Squee, Goblin Nabob 13. Multani, Maro Sorceror
It's funny how Jonathan is like "ya we know the rules, I can't cast this Tymna after that Reflector mage" right after he fetches O-Tomb with Arid Mesa. I'm not even mad.
we don't want to make mistakes as John fetches overgrown tomb with arid mesa on turn 3 xD
Just giving a little grief lol .
And John on turn 4 casting his general through the reflector mage. He still CASTS the copy :P
I got got
Riley Killen he doesnt even have the right mana to cast the expertise right?
Riley Killen nevermind, i forgot he had a sacred foundry not a regular mountain
Riley Killen everyone makes mistakes lol if you can't laugh at it then what's the point right
Give Stevie a point for choosing flavor win with his random pick!
#teamgreen #chestache
It's good to see videos like this with real cards being played, not that online garbage.
check out Gameplay by Clonehead and MTG Muddstah, they do similar content, although edited and with post-commentary
also check out the command zone. they do stuff like Onna mentioned too
Jessica Zane command zone has the best gameplay
you'll have to be more descriptive, "SJW" is a term that has no meaning any more
+Blade Talon In season 2 Justin played Horde of Notions
Star City Games Jon fetched a black-green land with a red-white fetch
31:30 Stephen, please, I beg you, listen to the Jeopardy theme. Please. It's a simple song. You can do this. Probably.
Really glad to see thematic partners decks instead of what nearly everyone plays now with partners that is good value decks with no theme.
It's a shame that these partners were too a bit powerful and the newer ones were way under powered, except sakashima, Kamahl, Kodama, and Krark lmao
Did John mess up the fetch by cracking Arid Mesa into... Overgrown Tomb????
Makes up for Stephen immediately forgetting that John should draw a card off his Ludevic that turn.
Kestral287 nope, paying life isn't losing life, so no Ludevic draw
Off to a good start xD
John Johnson paying life causes loss of life, so it does work.
171relic well, TIL that I shoud've won that game two montgs ago.
Nice Malazan reference Stephen! I just finished book 10
Keep it real guys! Love these so much.
a good advice for you guys: "even though there is the fetchrule in place, just put all the fetchable duals in a seperated pile besides your deck. whenever you would draw or fetch, you can then just put it into play without shuffling for 1min. if you would naturally draw the dual you can then put the placeholder to the side and put in the real one. if you already fetched for said land you just put the placeholder aside and draw again"
pls guys keep up the good work so far
PS: tell stephen to play his lands (didnt play one on his t4)
PSS: also jonathan cheatcount 2, fetching overgrown tomb with arid mesa and then recasting his commander that got bounced by reflector mage
Great content as always!
The decks were a lot of fun this week; but particularly Stephen's theme :)
I think the games that don't end up in top deck wars are a lot more fun to watch - having decks/commanders that let everyone draw cards keeps the pace up a lot.
episode request #1: all cards including basic lands using the pre-modern frame
episode request #2: each deck only has cards from one block and blocks that are returns to that plane

episode request #4: all cards only printed in commander pre-cons
episode request #5: each deck themed around your favorite TV show, movie, book, video game, comic, etc.
Completely love this show. Trying to focus on it while running in the gym.
ALSO, REQUEST!!! I would love for Stephen Green to play an upgraded SASKIA DECK. Either making it as powerful as he can OR to have all creatures who are pointing. Meaning he can point constantly throughout the video when he plays his spells. #MIGHTYPOINT!
These guys have a blast playing, I love it...
Ludevic doesn't cause people to draw whenever Stephen loses life. He is the "you" the ability refers too. So many cards drawn that shouldn't have been drawn.
love the series keep this up guys and you guys got humor greetings from holland
These videos make my day. Thanks guys :D
The cutthroat doesn't trigger if your commander goes back to the command zone
if the commander dies then yes it does
sdrobi662d dies is specifically from battlefield to graveyard
sdrobi662d That's true but it only dies if it goes to the graveyard. the commander going to the command zone is a replacement effect so it doesn't trigger death effects.
Nope. It wont die if you use the replacement effect to put in into the commandzone instead ^^

i still miss wes
Entertaining as always guys!! I look forward to your commander video every Wednesday. #donttruststephengreen
Great video, I love it when you guys are in "fun-mode" and not being overly competitive. Want to hashtag in #MarduMeld as it gives the greatest chance to get at least one meld off. Keep up the excellent work (that goes for the great director and his silly sidebars as well).
Loved the Running Man clip.
lol I love how john tased the people from last week at the end of the video
Still feels good being the namer of the Arena of the Arbitrary but God damn, the Randharmonicon is the effing best.
Always so much fun to watch :D
I would really enjoy a game of Emperor commander, with the added bonus of having special guest stars! Beyond that, I'd like to see how you'd build "can't win in commander" decks. Looking forward to Steven's deck next week. I have a Saskia deck, except with Reyhan and Bruse as commanders.
Stephen Green, was that a Malazan Book of the Fallen reference at the end?!
39:30 Sir, Mycoloth has devour 2, sir that means it gets twice the number of counters per each creature it devoured, so 6 counters.
Did Stephen just make a Malazan book of the fallen reference at the end? Those books are amazing. About suggestions, I'd like to see Jonathan Suarez play Saskia the unyielding with a tokens build.
Love Stephen's backstabs
Drawing a card of Ludevic at around min 47 (everyone lost life of cutthroat) is something that can change the game a bit more then just a missplay at fetching. GG though! Keep it up :)
Stephen Green, was the Silchas Ruin name drop a reference to the Malazan Book of the Fallen?
this was a fun one :):) how was john gonna attack with sun titan right away though, did i miss it getting haste? and then he shouldnt have been able to cast it right away because of reflector mage..right?
The arid Mesa into overgrown tomb pained me most of this video.
14:55 fetch arid mesa to overgrown tomb? :^0
1:27:33 nice Malazan Book of the Fallen reference!
Poor Justin so salty about Stephen's... I mean Judas' betrayal. LOL
Came here specifically to see the Ludevic and Kraum deck, was not disappointed. Flavor win for Green
21:45 Justin's glacial fortress should have had entered battlefield tapped I guess
1:19:51 Stephen doesn't return to two cards to the top of his library and then pays 7 for rite of replication when he should've paid 8 (goblin electromancer reduced it by 1 colorless; normally costs 9). That's not mistakes...
28:40 John doesn't get a cutthroat trigger off of his commander because it doesn't die.
i really want to see Justin play Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, i also want to see one of the guys play Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur
So, instead of picking commanders that are in their comfort zones (and since Stephen said he doesn't want to play anything within red or green), here's some decks that are different than usual, but close enough to home that they can still enjoy them:
Jeremy: Seen him play a lot of decks with red and black, but I don't remember him playing Mardu. Since I don't think they've used Oros recently, it seems like a nice fit.
Stephen: Since he doesn't want red or green this time, I looked into Orzhov since Stephen has said he's not really the biggest fan of blue. OG Teysa has some interesting potential considering that there are some standard cards with b/w tokens potential #ServoItUp
Jon: Unless I'm mistaken, Jon's favorite colors are red and blue.
@1:00:27 Sun Titan couldn't attack. It had summoning sickness.
Man that is a sweet shirt Jeremy! Where'd you get it, if I may ask?
(Jeremy) Outofprintclothing.com has a bunch of original book covers on shirts. :)
I was thinking the same thing about his 1984 t-shirt.
Funny thing about Reyhan. You can trigger her by blinking her with CERTAIN blink effects. I'll let you work out how that happens. I just hope Stephen figured it out too.
You guys should do tribal decks. Birds, zombies, merfolk, etc.
Eddie Peterson rats or oozes!
orcs and shamans
Eddie Peterson seton, that druid guy
The Most Contested Cutthroat
good episode y'all. smooth, funny, minimal cheating. 7.5/10 where CNN is a 0 and looking out the window at the ocean is 10.
dammm justin salty as heck
daammm justin nice throw 1:19:30
I don't get nearly as much credit as I should for my card throwing skills
Ah, is it time for requests once again? I'm still hoping my boy Jeremy will pick up Archangel Avacyn and rain deserved justice down upon the group! She's quite fun when built to maximize her flip trigger.
Or if that's not an option, would love to see Jeremy take Yidris for a spin. :)
As always, love the videos guys. Keep up the great work!
My requests of commanders I play =]
Justin- Meren of Clan Nel Toth (because I know how much you love her)
Jeremy- Thrasios/Kydele (no villainous wealth but plenty of fun X spells and right up your alley)
John- Brago Stax (with every winter orb effect stuffed into it, how bow dah?)
Stephen- Jhoira of the Ghitu (my favorite deck for my favorite player on commander vs! Plus it's not gruul or boros colors!) #teamgreen
Sram's Expertise drops 3 drops, Tymna is a three drop. I'd love to see more flavorful decks. Stephens deck, for example, was pretty flavorful and was enjoyable to see played
Can we see some Monarch decks in the finale?
I did get got on Reflector Mage. Well done.
After you guys finish these two random episodes, could you do an episode where you each choose two partners to use?
I'd love to see Stephen play Tana + Sidar for saproling swarm
lol that was funny cuz I minimized to comment on the weaver coming in after the Reflector Mage... XD
@46:50 Stephen should draw a card from Kraum because Jon cast two spells.
Arid mesa into a green black land?
So many missed triggers from ludevic almost thank goodness they discovered life loss lands trigger him early.
Just a question, does the Vial Smasher trigger counts as commander damage? Since the card reads "Vial Smasher the Fierce deals damage equals to the spell's CMC to an opponent chosen at random"... Even if not, that goblin is savage XD
Commander damage is *combat* damage from a commander source.
I would like to see Justin play Karlov. it's the first commander I built by myself, and I think it'd be cool to see how he plays it.
How about child of Alara vs Iname as one vs karrthus, Tyrant of Jund vs Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis? 2-colour v 3-colour v 4-colour v 5-colour.
Jordan Carrasquillo only one target
how was Justin Parnell able to un-tap that land to cast Add to dictionary?
Are any of y'all teaming up for the Team Constructed Baltimore Open?
Silchas Ruin? Stephan, you read Malazan book of the Fallen?
curious to see what Jeremy will do with Silas in esper colours next week. Should be good. Now I really want to try vial smasher and ravos with lots of evoke creatures
How did John respond to return to dust when it has split-second?
OOOH YEAH! #TeamParnell getting in on some bant action #ParnellBlue #LustinForJustin
if you don't cast one of your commanders at all, but you cast the other however many times, do you get -1 point or no?
I was also wondering about that rule with two commanders.
When Vial Smasher skill hits Stephen, Ludevic skill is not activated ?
how is it that Jonathan was able to attack with his Sun Titan the turn he cast it? does he have some global haste effect Im missing? Or is he just cheating. Again. Just because you make your turn take so long the table should have wheeled already, doesn't mean it did.
I think his turn was so long he forgot he cast Sun Titan that turn.
while mistakes were made with the fetch land and sun titan, its really amusing how many people evidently didnt watch the entire video before commenting on 'mistakes' that they saw, such as mycoloth, zulaport cutthroat and brainstorm, as these were noticed and corrected before any harm was done
Steven missing his commander triggers tho
For the season finale can each of you play your favorite tribe in mtg and have the tribal-off?
(Stuff that creates Tokens is fine)
I have no clue if you could build 4 different Decks, but I am know you guys would make it very entertainign.
Also for the last game of the season someone should play Genju of the Realm (if you akzept him as a Commander), playing a deck without creatures (or with creatures, I would just like to see him as a Commander).
love the show
keep up the good work
Silchas Ruin is a character from a fantasy series, Malazan Book of the Fallen
I would like to see you guys play with the crew members of the Weatherlight story in Magic. Who, out of all of them is the coolest in your opinions, and who do you think would win? I have a list of them in their card forms to choose from:
1. Gerrard Capashen
2. Captain Sisay
3. Hanna, Ship's Navigator

It's funny how Jonathan is like "ya we know the rules, I can't cast this Tymna after that Reflector mage" right after he fetches O-Tomb with Arid Mesa. I'm not even mad.
