Oh, my! I've had your book for a week and I am devouring it! Wonderful! I learned 3 little ditties by rote about 35 years ago when I bought a dulcimer from Phillip Boulding at the Seattle Folk Life Festival, but I never really figured out what I was doing. I now have a 16/15 Dusty Strings dulcimer and am so happy to finally learn how the instrument is set up. What a difference you and the internet have brought to my life! Thank you for your generosity in sharing these videos! This will help me make it through another Covid winter.

I'm having such fun learning how to play the hammer dulcimer! Mine is about 1-1/2 months old--a finch from Songbird 17/16/8. So glad I found you on you-tube. I wish you still had the downloads and book. That would be helpful. Nevertheless, it sounds beautiful and if the book and downloads ARE available please let me know! I don't know tech stuff! 86 and trying to learn the dulcimer is a challenge for sure! But I plan to make it happen.

I wanted to thank you for this comment..."My purpose is to help you to learn to become a Hammered Dulcimer player and not just to learn to play a song". It makes a difference. I always wondered throughout piano and harp lessons, if I was learning the instrument, or just memorizing a piece. So thank you!

I notice that there is another bridge to the left of treble bridge giving another valley. How is this tuned? Would this be a good add on to an existing 2 bridge dulcimer?

Hi... those are super bass notes. Can't be added to an existing dulcimer. Mine is a Dusty Strings D650.

yes you can, I've done it to a dusty strings d500. Ialso have built 8 mid to large range hammered dulcimers from scratch. SourcesofSound.com or on facebook for some examples and contact if you'd like some help making something like that happen
