We've been several times. My 11 year old son is fascinated by all sea life - in particular sharks (aspirations of being a Marine biologist when he's older) and The Deep is an incredible place that has really helped peak his interest over the years we've been going. They also do some amazing work - and every penny you spend goes to the conservation of these stunning animals. Great place, great video! The lift is a highlight for sure!
1:38 that is actually a flood defence barrier that lowers down when sea level get too high and prevents flooding on land to nearby houses and businesses
I went over Easter weekend. There was 1 large tank with a number of big fish in it, maybe 8. There was one healthy fish. A catfish. It was in marvellous condition. All the other fish had fins missing. One was completely immobile as its fins were almost eaten. If you had a fish tank in your home (and an ounce of common sense), you would look for a culprit.
I live in Hull and the bridge you're referring too doesn't lift up. It was designed for the deep. You should check the museums out next time about 2 minutes from there
Hi shawn and Charlotte Wow what a great attraction looks really good. Lovely to see you both. Thankyou for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Shawn and Charlotte, I.ve been to many aquariums here in the States and that is one of the best I've ever seen. For what it costs to maintain it, the price is very cheap. I suspect they may get some sort of Government subsidy, they deserve one since they demonstrate just how diverse our planet really is and hopefully will remain! Cheers, Rik Spector
I’ve been there a few the deep in Hull is a very nice aquarium they have lots of fish there it’s a nice place to go to there I’m glad you 2 have been enjoying yourselfs😊
I used to go when I was a younger and when I saw this video it immediately made me book in for this week to go see this amazing place again!! Ur such amazing people.
This looks like a very cool aquarium. Since I'll most likely never get to the UK this is as close as I'll get to seeing it. Thank you both for the video!
Excellent video, the whole set up is so obviously aimed at education and preservation and not commercialism - and it shows - the attention to detail and information is a credit to the organisation who run it - I hope your vlog helps their visitor numbers as the energy costs of running the place must now be a worry. Regards.
We've stayed at the premier Inn over the road various times but never visited. It looks absolutely superb and possibly one of the best around. Good video.
The odd thing about Hull.. Since I grew up between Rotterdam and Zeebrugge, I knew Hull from both Rotterdam - Hull and Zeebrugge - Hull. On maps, ever since I was young. Two ferryroutes which actually dock not far at all from where you visited The Deep. Instead of going to the bridge, you go the other way and their you'll find ships going to The Netherlands (South-Holland) and Belgium (West-Flanders). I dunno. I has always fascinated me. Nice to see a bit of Hull finally, I guess.
I went wednesday the 31st july 2024, the prices booked online were one Adult £21.00 and one Senior £19.50. I was getting bored half way through but my mother really enjoyed it. The tickets we got will let you in however many times you want for free for a year. But why would you want to once you've seen it you've seen it. It's really expensive, ticket prices up £3.25 over a year.
Thank you for calling it an estuary not many get it 😂 good video , ever near to Cleethorpes in the future always welcome to pop in for a coffee tea or whatever you guys drink 😊 all the best from the roaming adventurers
I went here when i was a kid but i can't remember much from it, espically the lift in the tank but im sure it was there. I do remeber there was some hidden Disney characters like Mickey and Goofie ect and things like that around the Deep.
Hello Shawn and Charlotte how are you both love your vidio of the deep its very interested place in Hull I have never been we have drove through it but never stop there best wishes to you both take care stay safe xx from Lynn
I went to my local aquarium for the first time in forever a few months ago. It's actually owned by the same people as Dollywood. They also own another aquarium in Kentucky that they got in the same deal. The top floor could use a bit of work, but the area around main tank got a pirate overhaul at some point. I actually had been in a backstage area as a cub scout. I think it was the Shark Tank, but it could have also been that main tank
Very cool place! Nice under water lift! You would enjoy Ripley's aquarium in Toronto. if you ever come to Canada. There is a moving walkway tunnel tank as well :)
This is such an incredible educational place with so many cool elements interactive games with informative content great for learning, It’s such a fun unique place especially mostly directly for conservation, They really are dedicated compassionate biologists doing such a fantastic job spending all their efforts time together of the maintenance including the animals looking on top form great healthcare even maculate 👍I would certainly most definitely be in my element as I’m a fanatic of all things sealife especially fanatic obsessed with orca whale as they are my particular favourite predatory majestic animal. I guess you both had a whale 🐋 of a time lol 😆 great vlog very relaxing almost sent me to sleep 😴 whilst eating my chocolate 🍫 cake 🍰 😋. Thank You so very much for sharing you both alwa
cool if you're near to Coventry you should visit the wave Coventry it's a great attraction and has tons of slides including the UK's second trapdoor waterslide. There's also one in Ireland I'm going so excited:)
The thing in the background is not a foot bridge, its the flood barrier, and to use its proper term its the only submarium in the world, you ll be back!....the pressure on those glass tanks must be tremendous, anyhoo nice one guys
Hey Shawn and Charlotte!! Just wondering what day you went to The Deep!? As my parents and younger sister went to The Deep without me 🥲and would’ve been ace if they saw you aha
I went when it first opened so it could be different hopefully it is, we walked around one fish tank just on different levels and watched the same old knackered shark

very good Shawn & Charlotte from The Deep in Hull! This HUGE aquarium opened in 2002 and features over 3500 different animals including seven species of shark.
