This comes from Dan Aykroyds experience with the paranormal. Whenever activity and/or appearance of an entity (especially an evil one) there is an unforgettable smell. If I remember The Conjuring (the first one) had somthing similar
I agree wholeheartedly. Other great films that share that aspect in my opinion are Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Krampus, and Beetlejuice. Just fun movies all around with horror and comedy mixed in together to create something special in each.
@@FoggyFiend13 don’t forget the original evil dead series. Granted the first movie was more campy horror but once we got to Army of Darkness it was great.
Funny how Ray pauses for a bit, then continues the conversation with Egon like normal. No comebacks or retaliation. If it was a modern movie, it would be an opportunity for a punchline to be inserted.
Ever since playing the GB video game, the Library Ghost hits me differently. Tragic what happened to her. I'm glad the video game gives us a backstory on who she was and why she was haunting the library.
@@jacksbatsgaming it really was, no matter what version you played on. Personally though, I think the stylized version for the Wii had better voice acting than the realistic one
@@Carma1023I honestly believe that the film won’t go into detail, but we do see the Grey Lady return to her haunting ground of the New York Public Library. I know the film has to do with Garaka summoning an army of ghosts acquired from the containment unit and I feel like the Grey Lady will be one of them in order to keep the canon of the game for the films, but not go into further elaboration than that.
I'm being 100% serious with what I'm about to say. The Librarian Ghost traumatized me as a child the first time I saw this movie...... I still get goosebumps and the hair on the back of my neck raises up leading up to the GET HER section
@@strawberryhellcat4738 That is a very good one too, the suspense leading up to it was quite intense. The only other suspensefully tense scene for me from Ghostbusters II was the bit where the chairs in the courtroom were being knocked away by an unseen force, coming closer to the Ghostbusters :) Still gives me chills lol
Ghostbusters is the best movie ever made and I love it so much and I love the way it was made and the way it was written and the way it was executed and the way it was so well written and the characters are so good!
"Get her!" Ha Ha Ha, it just never gets old! I thought their reaction was hilarious too, Peter uses Ray as a shield, Ray has a high pitch scream, and Egon is stiff at first then looks like he's dancing away from the ghost. Truly one of the best classics you always wanna go back and watch!👻🤣
Ghostbusters I and II were a huge part of my introduction to and love of films. I have a theory that all objects, living and inert, in all places of earthly frequent, leave an ethereal instance of their being, and that photographs, and other recordings, show glimpses of this ethereal vitality, or soul. Aged seventeen, in recorded and broadcast faces, I began to see similarity that persuaded me irresistibly of their relationship, independently of bodily connection, to each other. Bodily features and expressions wove an insistently lucid sense of recognition. I realise this may sound like self-deluding fantasy, but... If these people are genetically unrelated, might genes operate on dimensions beyond the physical to form in deliberate parallel? And if this shows up on film, might ethereal fragments of a human life linger in light waves? I call the phenomenon transgenic kinship. Anyway, I've written more about the subject in my book "Andy's Nature: Asperger's, Obesity and the Supernatural." Thanks for reading.
The franchise could have been so good the movie could have tracked like the real Ghostbusters cartoon catching all kinds of ghosts. But they held off and now the original cast is up there and Egon is DEAD.
"Get her? That was your plan?? GET HER?!?!"
Thats why I invited clients instead of friends ya havin a good time marv? Lolll
Have you got any better ideas????
:)
"I, I just got over excited."
We can ask her
0:40 "Listen! You smell something?" That line makes no sense 😄😄

The Best line 😂😂😂
Except for being one of the funniest lines ever
Sulphur.
The look Bill Murray gives him a priceless
No other film had ever been able to blend horror n fun together like Ghostbusters did

@@dirtydan2695Army of Darkness is cool but I think it went too far Into comedy and became goofy. 2 is perfect
@@FoggyFiend13 Krampus is great fun, I'm inclined to agree! Plus it has the benefit of the cinema cut for the kids and the unrated one for the adults.

I know, shame what happened to her. It’s a bigger shame that the new movies decanonize the game and its lore

Sorry I’m a bit behind on my research, what exactly happened to her?
We all love the Librarian Ghost scene... and to make matters better, SHE'S BACK in the new movie! :D

Same! The only scene I find more terrifying than the librarian is the phantom train sequence from Ghostbusters 2.

I am not surprised! I remember reading this scene made people either laugh or scream! 😅
Every time the lights are out I picture bumping into her
Same f****** here man.
Hahahahaha my favorite scene is when the guys got scared when Ray yells get her....that scene brings back memories

This scene haunted me for a DECADE! Use to be my nightmare fuel. That's what I love about Ghostbusters, comedy and creeps.
It’s so funny how Ray and Egon back away in fright while Peter runs forwards as if he’s saying, “Come on! Come on! Let’s get out of here!”
Seems like they're hinting something to us with these recent clips of Slimer and the Library Ghost.
all of the ghost they ever captured were freed in the new movie and make an appearance as well 🎉
Next to Slimer's return in the Frozen Empire film, the Library Ghost's return was also mind-blowing as well as a nice throwback to the 1984 film.
“GET HER!”
Probably Dan Akroyd’s most famous line in the whole movie!
What did they think they were going to do once they “get her”. Carry her out of the library?
I'm so glad she's back in frozen empire
3:35 (Roars) 👻👹
Get Her!
2:47 *STOP THAT!”*
rest in peace Harold
They're coming back here in Frozen Empire to finally "get her"!
No, they go to the library for research purposes and she makes an appearance, apparently she remembers Ray.

“LISTEN, U SMELL SUMTHIN”?? BWAHHHH
Crystal Guardians: AAAH!!! 😧🏃 😯🏃 😲🏃 3:38
I used to scare my nephew at this part every time and laughed my butt off.
A true classic
Ray and the ghost are going to meet again in 40 years. In “Frozen Empire.”
knew it was going to be good after this scene 😂😂

Ghostbusters 1984: Rey: GET HER
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire: The Librarian: You think I forgot about u telling ur friends to GET ME
Or that one time the Rookie trapped her in the (apparently) non-canon spinoff
You never forget your first ghost sighting
This is one of my fav scenes
Jordanium Jr/Lite: Get Ready,😕 ready,😦 Get her! 😯 3:32 3:34
Hello... I'm peter. Where you from... originally?
Shhhhhh
Love it!
Damn I love this movie!
Oh my !
I remember when I first saw this in 84 I always said it looked like my grandmother,
Can't wait for the movie
Hopefully Ray finally captures Eleanor at the Library
Cropped to 16:9, and using the old non-4K-restored master? Whyyyyy
Get an eye to the camera movement. It brings you very perfect closer to the spooky feeling, because the narrow aisles.
I've met Librarians like her before. To bad they were Real, you know the " In the Flesh " kind !!
Ready GET HER
Somebody blows their nose and you want to keep it?
❤
This is really cool I'm a big fan please
I like Public Library of New York
The usual stuff is not working. lol
Nostalgia
I was actually the 70th one here
Interesting....I just noticed the blowing hair....Is it the case every time they encounter a ghost there's wind? I can't recall.
Hi I will watch the movie
Has this happened to you before no first time 😮
Eleanor Twitty
No matter who or how hard they try they will never do this movie justice with remakes. All the new ones suck.
Agreed, it’s a masterpiece
