Derren Brown is a British mentalist, illusionist and author. Since his television debut with Derren Brown: Mind Control in 2000 he’s produced multiple series and specials, winning two Laurence Olivier Awards. Derren doesn’t claim to possess any supernatural powers and his acts are often designed to expose the methods of those who do. He often claims his impossible effects are merely achieved through "magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection, and showmanship".

I used to buy into all this stuff. I used to go to spiritualist church. I genuinely thought there was something more.
Maybe fifteen years ago I went to see Gordon Smith - to me the elite. I fully expected him to be exceptional and convince me without a shadow of a doubt. Well, he was just like the rest of them. “I’ve got a William”, “Can anyone take an Alfred?” or “There’s someone here who went with their chest”. All vague stuff that most people could relate to.
I then saw Derren doing cold readings live. Cold readings that were 100% more accurate and convincing than any supposed psychic or medium could ever give.
I’ve now realised there is nothing more. It annoys me that people make money out of preying on the grief of others. I honestly don’t know how these people sleep at night. It’s utterly despicable the way they prey on others.
I’d really love to know what all these so called mediums are going to do in thirty years time when they can no longer rely on William/James/George/Joan and they’re faced with Georgia-Mae/Destiny-Jade etc.

My heart breaks for the people suffering trauma from the losses of loved ones. It’s so sad to see the “medium” manipulating them (and only spending seconds with them really - no doubt makings lots of money)
Especially a "medium" who is as cold as ice and has about as much warmth as an iceberg or charisma of a toilet. I have met and seen plenty of mediums, and most have perfected their act to make them seem kind, warm and decent. Joe Power is none of that. A horrible, crass, rude and rude man.

If ur loved one was talking they would be literal surely. Why say a number say our mum and dad were.... or sisters and brothers were called..remember the when we said... they'd deffo say!

Not saying Its impossible but I had a weird pact with my brother about how we wud do that. It was a specific. He died 20 years ago. Never happened. Never heard thd thing we said.

Derren is like James Randi i think.
Leaving aside the fact this medium is a fraud, he's generally not a very nice person. His tone, his arrogance and childishness...the constant need to 'out-do' Derren because he's intimidated and telling the lady about an affair then saying he won't tell her. Comes across as a very nasty and immature person-even when he said 'a dog wouldn't do that test'. Everything about this man is negative-and yet I'm a spiritual person. Kudos to Derren being so professional and centered around that prat.
