All of the animo acid names are essential for human life, however the catch is that humans cannot produce them naturally. They must be consumed via food, vitamins, or external sources. This is spoilerish for the end, but the 15 main characters of 13sen are basically made to be the caretakers of the future of humanity. So it falls on them to basically get everyone back up on the new world as well as nurturing their growth. The battles naturally have the storyline element of getting everyone out of the system, and to add gameplay. The poetic concept behind the naming them with these animo acids, falls on the fact that they are providing the necessary requirements to restore humanity through their battles by giving them things that can't produce themselves. Yeah but the big missile's only every once in a while. You play those Gen 1s right, suddenly everything ceases to exist in a 2km radius.
