    Great, thank you for this inspiration. Could perhaps be some more info about the cover materials, some seem to be available only in specialist shop, but some from the drugstore? Anyway, I will produce my own mask now as I already have the appropriate form... 👍🏼

      @@kristyanrichtr8959 when it is dry you can wear mask no problem. But when the mix is wet, I am not sure how it will react with skin, as skin might get irritated? I am not sure :)

    Can I use my face instead of the plastic mask?

    • @VolhaS
      @VolhaS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will take a long time to cure and once it is dry it will pull all the facial hair. I would not advise it, because I do not know how the skin will react.

    I am making a full-face masquerade mask for a dance team performance. I love how cheap the minerals are for this. How well does it stand up be being dropped?

    Seriously? Form it over a mask? Why would I make a mask and already have one??

      If you have a friend you could tape plastic wrap over your face (leave breathing holes, ofc) and have them apply the paper mache over that. That might work.

      I realise your comment is 10 months old, and you likely no longer care, but I’m answering your question anyway. The mask being used as a form/mould appears to be plastic (or maybe porcelain). That makes it tricky to decorate with paints & embellishments compared to a paper substrate. Also, traditional Venetian masks are made of papier-mâché, so this is more authentic. It also allows you to make multiple masks from one form.
