So cool to see how you do the masks 🎭 i have been to your shop in Venice end of last year and bought a Beautyful one in lilac and gold - added with a flower and Swarowski-Stones - i love it 🥰 it a stunning decoration most of time but already have worn it one evening already. It was great to wear and feels very well. You could wear it several hours and it still was no big issue. I had cheap masks before - after 5 minutes no chance to wear it even one minute longer 🙈 if so should come back to Venize I will visit You again and maybe I fall in love with another one 🥰 stay save!
I have begun making masks during Lockdown; using cheap papier mache ones from a local craft supplier, & die cut flourishes, plus gems, so it's interesting to see how they were originally made.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Johnathan Jedidiah i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I totally love this volto mask shape, I´m using only this ones for venetian costumes :) Pity you do not sell blank ones, I´m buying them in United Kingdom even if they´re made in Italy :)))
Carta Lana paper, or wool paper. I’ve been searching everywhere to find the kind of glue they use, and not one artists explains this. Very disappointing… but I guess I’ll have to keep researching.
How do you make the mould to actually start it all??? Could you do a plaster of paris mould of your face in order to do it and customize the rest as you go along or????? ;-;
@@maximumeffort4043 I mean uuuh there are people online that will 3d print your stuff for you..? I’ve personally never done it but I’ve hear multiple people use online stores it’s just they have to send a 3d digital model in that they can print (that’s the hard part), but I’m sure you could find online stores that also make porceline looking premade 3d masks that you could add clay to and then make a mould of that maybe? Although I’m sure at that point buying a porcelain mask raw from a seller might just be cheaper 😅😅
My impression has always been that Gesso is used as the primer layer, as it absorbs paint better. Of course I cannot say for certain, but it's what I use, and it yields good results.
Good evening, we apologize for the delay in the response. We use acrylic colors also for the lips. We use other types of color when we want to get some particular effect. Thanks for appreciation and interest.
After some google searching it appears to be rather hard to come by the Carta Lana (the paper used, which goes by other names or identifications in other countries) in the US. Does anyone know where I could find a good supplier in the US or decently priced over seas shop? The only one that shows up is Squires Kitchen and they seem to be consistently out of stock. :(
The paper that you use “carta Lana”. I have herd it also called wool paper. Is it a combination of actual wool and paper? Also the base white paint, is it water based?
Carta Lana translates as wool paper, and it might be, but it may also be a misnomer as paper with actual wool looks very thick. "Cotton wool" might be what's actually in it. Cotton wool is what the Brits call raw cotton. Carta Lana looks like paper made with old processed rags or cotton fibers - like handmade Indian cotton paper. The mulberry paper site I use has this grey cotton rag paper that looks just like what they are using - thin, flexible, but strong when dry. Non-toxic acrylic gesso makes a good mask primer. I use it over newspaper/flour paper mache.
I'm new 2this & would love 2learn how to mask a cast. I'd also need2 know the glue type he uses along w the type of paper, specifically. Any1 mind pointing me2 the right direction where I can find a link, video, TH-cam channel, or explain, plz? Thx much in advance. ♥
Hello! I am in love with your masks and your craft! I wholeheartedly have been looking to get into mask making like you, but am intimidated by the use of a mould. How can I find mask moulds similar to the one you use in this video? Thank you so much.
hello! and Thanks for your comment. The molds are part of the artisans' equipment and ours are made by us. We can not tell you where you can find them ready.
Gli Amici di Pierrot Congratulations for your terrific work!Venician masks are the most beautiful works of art in the world!Love and respect from Greece!!!!
Thank you so much for your quick reply. I am from the USA and have tried newspaper and it works but not as good as I would like.I only do masks for a hobby right now but love doing them and would like a smoother look. No matter how careful I am my masks always have lumps. I also think if I had a good mold they might do better. So thank you so very much for the info I am going to try and find a better way of making them. Your masks look sooo beautiful and they look so professional. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
Waoooo y más waoooo genial me quedé fascinada éxitos desde Puerto Rico me gustaría tener ese molde para hacer las mías donde lo consigo y cómoprecio en $ de USA gracias

Thank you for your art. Beautiful.
So beautiful😍✨, I love hand crafts , thanks for sharing
The paint you use to decorate the mask flows beautifully. Could you tell me what brand it is and perhaps where to purchase it?
From the look of it, it seems like she is using water base inks and acrylic paints.. you can find those at any art supplier.
The paint they use is acrilic paint

Maybe 3d printing then making a mold of that for a more modern technique would work too
