I agree with a lot of things Gil says but this is crazy…. The racist agenda against white people by the black community because of something that happened 100 years ago, that we have no control of, is out of control.
The media literally uses it, even though the people creating the media are white, to pit us against each other.
I had a game of 2K today where a guy started calling me “cracker” and when I asked him if he thought it was cool to be racist he said yes, he was a grown ass adult.
      Shit is disgusting.

It wasn't a dig. You're taking it the wrong. It's an assessment of the American media, his place in it and his personality. He's exactly like Tim Duncan. Duncan didn't want the spotlight and for that reason was never a superstar. He also wasn't flashy and never had a shoe deal because he didn't want to. Nothing to do with anti white racism. Doncic is proof of that. He's much more popular because of his personality.

The average ego driven NBA player (retired or active), fan and media personalities can't understand humility based excellence...so they will naturally denigrate it every chance they get....even if Joker leads Denver to back to back Championships, they will still find a way to chisel away at his glaring impact and artistry on and off the court. He is bringing disenchanted fans back to the NBA little by slowly and changing the way the game is played.

There's always been two different sets of rules in basketball, for big men and for regular sized people. They resent Jokic because even 10 years ago they'd have 'checked him' by not playing basketball and resorting to the fine line between sumo wrestling and flagrant fouls we used to call post offense (and still do everywhere but the NBA). The advantage had always gone to the big man because he could bump harder and you wouldn't want to risk getting hurt just being around who they are down in the post. Which on every other part of the floor would mean out of control, a dangerous injury risk. But on the other hand we're allowed to bump big guys way more than the rules would permit if you just entered the lane. If basketball keeps getting rid of contact, which it probably should, then big guys aren't just going to disappear because they can't be blunt force enforcers anymore. They haven't been allowed to do that for years. If they're suddenly safe to play ball like everybody else the length advantage is going to become huge.

And aint it wheels of life irony.
We have era where big guys bruteforce domination. We have era where flopping and crying considered strategy. And now suddenly we have player with so much GOD GIFT, LUCK, to basically be a Center yet move whatever he want to do.
I love this fiesta of fate.

Jokic couldn't care less if he's a "star" or not. He just focuses on what he can do to improve, make those around him better and give his team the best chance to win. In a league of me, me, me, self absorbed hype jobs like gilbert was, then sure, I guess Jokic is not a "star" He will just have to live with being the best basketball player in the world, an nba champion and a loving husband and father.

European players are team players. The European players are taught Basketball fundamentals early in their lives. Euro players are not the fastest, most can't jump the highest but they are used to playing a faster more controlled game focused on the team. Our players need to be unselfish and more focused on the fundamentals. Europeans are beginning to take over the league. Basketball is a team game and requires team players. If things don't change the writing is on the wall where this is going.

Arenas is getting some hate for his take, but he is right that Jokic is in the Duncan range where his personality and play style are "boring" yet totally dominant. Duncan often gets left out of GOAT discussions because he didn't have that "it" factor regardless of how amazing he is. Underrated and the best player in the league, and I'm saying that as a Luka fanboy.
