When it comes to unwanted sales pitches, a tactic I usually find effective but still polite is to gently interject with: “Excuse me, I want to be respectful of your time so I have to say that I’m really not interested - but thank you.”
My daughter came out to me as a lesbian a few months ago. She mentioned a friend the other day who was a boy. I said your booooyyyyyfrieeennndd (because I'm her mom and I have too). And she said ew no. I said - it's okay, you know I'll still love you even if you're straight ❤❤ 😂😂 We're flipping the script on our parents generation 🎉
I have a suggestion. I started dancing about 5 months ago, I have been taking arial dance and acro dance classes. I would think there are studios in your area, you would do well and it'll make you sweat. Thank you for such a fun podcast episode
If you add them to a playlist you can exclude the playlist from your taste profile in its settings - you may have to do in the web player but it seems to carry throughout the account
I'm 34 and I loooved the Muppets (still do). Seen every episode of the Muppet show, seen every movie, watched the new Muppets series- love it all ❤ I immediately wondered how young she was when she said she'd never seen it.
For Katherine's "This Has Got to Stop": My version of this is: please, please, please don't feel obligated to get me a gift. Only give me something if you very specifically want to give it to me, or if you specifically know that I specifically want it.
1:21:27 I 100% agree. I use some Spotify sleep tracks to help with my insomnia. This is not “real” music that speaks to my personality, but a means to and ends. I should be able to ignore those types of tracks from my Spotify wrapped or even TH-cam wrapped.
Katherine is right about high schools, I went to a all boys high schools and in college it was so weird, guys would change their whole personality to try get a girl, It would get so depressing....
Look up the origin of the band name "Limp Bizkit". We called it "Cummy cookie". everyone called it something different, no one knew anyone who had ever played except the one guy in the locker room who claimed they did it at camp.
55:31, pretty sure there were orgies going on in my high school town/city, which I only ever found out about after high school. While I knew a lot of people, or rather a lot of people knew my name, I guess I was never considered popular/cool [enough] to be included in them. I hung out with those that might have been considered more “in,” but not enough to actually really be close enough with any of them that they actually wanted to be close enough friends that they would include me in something like that. I’ve always struggled socially, so it wasn’t entirely surprising to me, after having to drop out of college(loan provider screwed me over), that I found out I may be autistic(I am technically diagnosed), so that seems to explain a lot about why I was never really able to make really close friends enough be included in that sort of thing. That and/or maybe I just wasn’t considered attractive enough to be included, lol.
Hey, as a long time equestrian, those beliefs about a broken horse is outdated and being phased out. The basis of horse training is the same as dog training and child rearing, you teach them habits and patterns. Positive Reinforcement is the main thing, but there’s a newer movement of consensual care, which is iffy based on the boundary lines like I think there is a delineation between human and animal compared to anthropomorphizing the animal , but knowing what habits bring out positive responses, and what doesn’t. Forcing an animal to actively do something that they don’t like is deemed as unethical and frowned upon. But teaching the horse to give yes and no responses, so body language that demonstrates they don’t enjoy whatever, vs body language that shows that they do. Examples of this would be having a horse move towards a saddle pad instead of sighing or holding their breath.
I'm sure the weight is horrid to a horse as well. Like someone sitting on your shoulders & having you run. They weren't meant to be ridden. I've never ridden one (I'm scared) but It's not like wild horses are wanting people on their backs.
1:11:11 so. veganism all about consent, right? animals can't give consent, but if a human gives consent to consumption of their baby making juice, it technically vegan c-m, right? 🤔
Jazz dance is rooted in african america social dance traditions-that became popular in the 20s during the age of Jazz music. However, combines many dance types (ballet, modern, afro) to become different styles of jazz (broadway, modern, classic, latin, street). But all emphasize a focus on individuality expressiveness, rhythm and energy. Sorry, nerdy moment
1:18:18 me and wife went to six flags in LA we had that with these resort package people and you pay a 200 dollar non refundable deposit which was a deal breaker for us which the one lady wasn’t understanding that I’m in the military so my ability to take time off is kind of limited and I’m not gonna just pay 200 on a maybe thing
It's sad that I recognized her face, but not her name, so I went on google and I realized that she is filed in my brain as "way too into pretending to be a horse as a kid"
Not to be a jerk and as politely as I can say this.... from a leftwing Christian living in KC... the level of ignorance and condescension towards red states, purple states, conservatives, christians, or anything else outside NYC is... enlightening.

Im going to use this.
Russel's laugh is just golden
I’m glad I powered through the loogie talk! Loved the pod!
15:30 LMAO "I'm enthralled with your beings."
(absently) "You are?"
I love her and her energy with you two is PERFECTION. Loved the southern whites venn diagram.
5:45 I’m listening to this while eating/drinking boba 🤧
My daughter came out to me as a lesbian a few months ago. She mentioned a friend the other day who was a boy. I said your booooyyyyyfrieeennndd (because I'm her mom and I have too). And she said ew no. I said - it's okay, you know I'll still love you even if you're straight ❤❤

Or Zumba! 🎉
"you're getting weirder and weirder" don't I know it boys
Man. That Muppet analogy is spot on.
Okay, I’m 29 and Muppets from Space was one of my favorite movies as a kid! Solidarity with Russell lol
She had the best THGS I've ever heard on this show
What is THGS?
@@h_i_20 'This Has Gotta Stop' - a segment on this brilliant podcast, The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi ; )
The rundown she gave about religion and homophobia is a masterclass
~37:49: I mean, now THAT is a fantastic name for a club! 🤣🤣🤣
For the Spotify wrapped thing: You could have a secondary account for just audition/work songs
If you add them to a playlist you can exclude the playlist from your taste profile in its settings - you may have to do in the web player but it seems to carry throughout the account
What a hilarious episode! 🤣
When Katherine said, "Can you say this word? Can you say, um---", youtube cut to ads and it as an amazing moment of heightening the drama.
I'm 33 and I loved the Muppets 🤣 I'll admit enough of that was long enough ago I don't remember a lot of specifics but it was definitely formative
I'm 34 and I loooved the Muppets (still do). Seen every episode of the Muppet show, seen every movie, watched the new Muppets series- love it all ❤ I immediately wondered how young she was when she said she'd never seen it.
Oh so now were dropping podcasts at 5am
I'm just kidding I love you guys
I get my Gianmarco notifications at 2am my time, every time. The consistency is comforting somehow😅
How can Gianmarco not know that oogie cookie is also called Limp Biscuit and it’s what the band Limp Bizkit is named after ??? lol
Starting up with muppets joke is brutal and hilarious
Sounds like Gianmarco wants a Zumba or BODYJAM class!
Definitely seems more along the lines of what he's looking for, though he may have to shop around & find one with music he likes
For Katherine's "This Has Got to Stop": My version of this is: please, please, please don't feel obligated to get me a gift. Only give me something if you very specifically want to give it to me, or if you specifically know that I specifically want it.
I am from NY, Sectionals come before States and Regionals in HS sports
Did not expect gianmarco's brother to make a cameo! He has a very attractive voice.
Loving the RENT references ❤
depending on where you're from it's also called soggy biscuit!

Back in my day, way before snot rockets wr only had mucus missiles
Her mentioning Travis Barker and a plane crash in the same sentence made me stop in my tracks...only to realize she didn't even realize lmao
spotify for sure used to have that feature, i used it before. i just looked at the settings, and they’ve removed it for some reason.
In the UK we have the same rumour but over here it's called 'soggy biscuit'
I'm sure the weight is horrid to a horse as well. Like someone sitting on your shoulders & having you run. They weren't meant to be ridden. I've never ridden one (I'm scared) but It's not like wild horses are wanting people on their backs.
Jazz is SASSY DANCE
As someone who likes candles and lotion I feel attacked
A woman who is very aware of the power of her laugh.

Plants can’t give consent. And animals can’t give consent for humans to eat all their plants. Nor can the earth give consent for farming.
I'm not saying you're right, but you're not wrong 🫥

34:15 fully
Listening to them talk about dance is giving me an aneurism
i've yet to figure out if Gianmarco is gay, straight, or both
29:21
...if your family tree does not fork
Russell Daniels is the name of the cohost.
isn't a near constant congestion a sign of mild allergies?

1:11:39 yeah you’re not beating the gay allegations Gianmarco lmao
It's sad that I recognized her face, but not her name, so I went on google and I realized that she is filed in my brain as "way too into pretending to be a horse as a kid"
❤

Just wait till you hear conservatives talk about people from California!
Muppets were definitely a Gen X thing.
4:03 excuse me and how dare you. russell is a LADY.
