Nice winter session there Den, one fish in the winter worth five in the summer 👍, I spend at least 3 times as much on bait for a session, 2 slices of bread, tin of corn and tub of red worms from my wormery. So as you say , you don’t need to spend much for bait ( especially in Oz ) as most of the carp have never been caught before 😊
Dosent have to cost the earth to go fishing ,has youve proved there den, good vid and i hope your wife has speedy recovery from hip surgery, mine is awaiting the same thing! Tight lines .😊
Went away for a few days with the wife and the dog that had a lodge and a lake right outside but was not a fishing trip? Took a little amount of gear made some paste with 2 slices of bread and a cheese with Carlic spread .85p and caught a bucket full of silvers. Then I cricked my knee and back so put paid to the fishing! Try running the scissors over a wine bottle top it will sharpen them a treat.
Thanks Danny. You can't but Maggots in the shops like in the UK or Europe. You either have to send off for them online and get them shipped in, or make your own. Shipping costs a lot of money. I have tried to make my own, but my wife shut production down when she tried to sit in the garden and got inundated with flies.🤣🤣👍👍
Thanks Ovidiu. I might take you up on that offer in the near future mate. I will be looking into that kind of thing because my wife is going into hospital for hip surgery and I will need to be at home during her recovery.
You are absolutely right Ralf. I would love to catch other European type species. I was supposed to have a holiday about 2 months ago to a location about 1000kms away where I could catch Roach and Tench, but unfortunately, my injured finger meant I had to cancel it. I will do the trip sometime in the future though.
@@FishingwithDen I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it works next time. Nice big roach is my favorite type of fish to feed. And of course bream.
Hi Al. The Pole is a Daiwa Yank n Bank 14.5 metres. I live in Australia, so there is a thriving secondhand scene for UK tackle down here. I actually bought 2 of these poles from my mates. One had never been used and the other had been used once. It means I have lots of spares and the whole lot cost me the same as one new pole from the UK.
I've never seen them Paul. They might be something we can get sent over from the UK, but the Customs and Border people might confiscate them if they have certain substances in them.
Another great video Den, I was rambling last week on my local river and I seen a bloke fishing with Baked beans, I asked if he had caught any and he pulled out his net, full of bream! Have you ever tried any unusual baits?
@@Walsallgrower Hi Paul. I haven't tried Baked Beans, but I have used Potato Pellets. It was some years ago, but here's the videos: th-cam.com/video/b4w4eQLlgBk/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/0xj1xpZpQ3A/w-d-xo.html

I really enjoy fishing with simple and traditional baits again Doug. Back in the UK, I was spending a fortune on baits and groundbaits.
Winter fishing in the sun MAGIC.🤩🤩
It was nice Clive, but I'm craving some warmth again now mate.😁😁👍👍
Can't beat the sarnie pull round game...every time. Im sure they wait for 😂😂😂 Nice little pond. Look after the gaffer, its a six week recovery.
Yep. Every time Peter!🤣🤣👍👍

All good as long as you caught a few mate. Sorry to hear about the knee and back. I hope its nothing too serious.
@@FishingwithDen I do not like this getting old bit at all! I have wear on both knee joints and smashed them up as child! Both straight after each.
well done Den! I never see you fishing with maggots, why is that? 🤔👍🐟👋

@@loursb Thanks mate.
As an Englishman, you must sometimes crave roach, bream and tench; carp would be too monotonous for me.🤣🤣

I’m slowly building knowledge on great roach and tench waters in Victoria now. Some decent sport!

Hi Den. What was the verdict on the sweetcorn test...did it sink or float?
Yes mate. it did sink. I put up a couple of images from 24:36 showing the frozen and unfrozen corn.
What's the pole you're using, length, where obtained, etc.?

Hi den. I use bread ( a lot ) but most of my bites come on expander pellets. Can you get them in oz ?
