Minerva single-handedly lead to the surge of online sims People loved playing grass decks, but Minerva was so essential that people couldn't realistically play the deck in paper
There were competetively viable Union monsters before ABC: Machinas Gearframe and Peacekeeper. To be fair they didn't often use their equip effects very often, but they were union monsters.
Thank you @cimoooooooo for piloting my favorite deck of all time. 2016 was when I got back into yugioh and I picked up 3 seto structure decks and when to my locals playing AtoZ. Still play it to this day on master duel.

Isn't DARK Synchro a thing around this time? I have fond memories of summoning Denglong, looping Beast of the Pharaoh and getting to five hand rips turn 1 while drawing half my deck.

Or its not charge but its a card without lightsworn in its name. It activated the draw effect despite that.
I started playing competitive just after invasion of vengeance and I had a lil pile deck similar to the one joseph’s playing… the serotonin you get off of those good mills almost makes up for the depression you got from bricking like a monarch deck

Because VWXYZ was a Chazz Princeton card, while ABC (and A-to-Z) was meant for Kaiba, the first person to use the Alphabet Unions. Funny. Kaiba used Unions, and probably had to deal with them in his business.

26:20 When MBT took back the tsuki play, Cimo didn't put back the draw, and then he drew again for Minerva, when essentially it had to be the same draw. It didn't change anything in Cimo's turn because the silver gadget didn't come up at all, but the chaos hunter would have been drawn AFTER the snow summon; I'm not too sure, but I think that since it would have been drawn afterwards Cimo had to wait for the next special summon to activate it, which may or may not have changed MBT's next plays...
ended up not mattering but there was an illegal draw off cockroach drew from the tsukuyomi summon but didn't put it back when they called that summon back, and drew again when the same mats were used for minerva
I remember giving my friend a copy of the Kaiba 2016 Structure deck after teaching him Yu-Gi-Oh, and even though it was really fun playing against him, ABC was REALLY annoying. There were times where he made A-to-Z, but ABC was still more annoying to deal with then.
Game 2 felt like that scene from Ratatouille where he eats the Ratatouille and goes back in time to a simpler time except this is the complete opposite and i feel physical pain and i’m so glad snow is banned and can’t believe it’s at 3 in MD

Contact Fusing from the graveyard is something that really should've been required from every contact fusion going forward. It absolutely fixes what is otherwise a really clunky and poorly supported summoning mechanic and so many swarming decks would love to have a boss monster as easy to go into as ABC is. The quick effect tag out is also something that is sorely missing from almost every other iteration of tag out fusion. This sucks, because spell speed one tag outs like we see on cards like Kuribabylon are just not good enough.

When MBT forgot to mill with recharge and it altered his grave count game 3….. 2018 this deck was fire, I loved it so much

In the Lightsworn deck, you could make Bujinki Amaterasu and on your opponents turn add back a Maxx C to hand that was banished off of Snow.
