They are fantastic up here in the snowy mountains. Super sweet and very inquisitive birds. Great egg layers. He said 3 or 4 a week... mine lay 1 or 2 a day each lol. Egg machines
Both are great choices! Barred Plymouth Chickens can lay up to 280 large brown eggs per year, which is a plus if you are looking for that. Light Brahma's are very mellow and make them an ideal backyard pet if you are looking for that.
+Ps4 all the way You definitely don't want any roosters. I would recommend the Buff Orpingtons, Cinnamon Queens or the Light Brahma (though they are much larger) they have a very calm and docile disposition.
What about Buff Brahmas? Are they just as good? I mean, I've had them before, but I'd like opinions... I've fallen in love with this breed and would like to work with them alot more. Are they pretty friendly or are there better breeds for that?

Hello! Light Brahma's are a little slower to grow so I would expect them to start laying around 6 or 7 months.

Buff Brahamas are very friendly and typically fall into a mother role in the community.
