The FX cameras don't use 2.5mm LANC protocol or connectors as far as I recall. I don't think an FS7 grip would work. Also the grips are very expencive as is typical for repair/replacement parts Better and far cheaper option would be getting a Sony digital control with zoom and start stop function and build it into your choice of wood or bar hand grip.
Ah bummer, that sucks that you can't get it new anymore. No the FX6 and FS5 adapters won't work for the FS7/FX9. It doesn't surprise me that it wasn't a super popular part though.
Hey , i have fs7 mk1 with sony 18mm to 105mm lens , when using the servo zoom rocker on the extension grip it zooms in really slowly but pulls out fast, the zoom on camera top handle zooms in and out at same speed , i have it set to variable and 8 in menu , any ideas ??
Hey, sorry I am no real help on that one. I only used the 18-105/4 for a few months on the FS7 and hated every moment of it as it's a completely fly by wire controlled lens and is not linear. It's definitely not a lens I recommend for the FS7 due to its various drawbacks. My only guess is to try update the lens' firmware 🤔
Hi what is the secret to getting the arm off the FS7 handle -I tried a while back but the screws are like so tight on there -I was going to strip them off. Any advice ?? Matt
Hey Matt, sorry I missed your comment. I had the same problem and carefully drilled the screws out. I used a drill bit that was the size of the screw. then I drilled a slightly larger clean hole and re-tapped new threads for the next size bolt up. Its a bit of effort, but if you have a drill and some drill bits and can google how to tap a (I think it was M4 bolt hole by hand) then give it a go. If you ever need to go back to stock, just use the new bolts to bolt the old arm on. I definitely exhausted every other option before going this method, but if your bolts are siezed in there like mine, then this might be your best option.
I can't guarantee it will fit, but a someone told me that the FX9 version fits and works. The FS7 specific version is discontinued. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1570326-REG/smallrig_2831_handgrip_rosette_adapter_for.html/qa If it works for you let me know :)
I really really want to see if these work on the fx3/30

They've now discontinued the FX9 adapter... now the only thing available is an FX6 adapter, which doesn't look like it will work at all for the FS7.
