Normally not a big fan of audience clapping in recordings and such... but knowing that this the dance break and everyone is legit freaking and losing it... does put a smile on my face.

These transitions from part of the song to part of the song skipping the dialogue is seamless

But I kind of wish they would have left in Jack's speech when he convinces the scabs to join the strike.

This is actually really funny to me since a lot of Disney workers went on strike because they got unfair pay...
They struck a deal for $15 minimum wage, but some other unions are pushing for increased regulations for park workers and Disney is going to speak to them soon. Right now it's kind of a win, but we need to wait.

The Patriotic Romper newsies has one of the biggest online fandoms, and the movie is a cult classic turned famous broadway show. every non-theater person i’ve talked to knows about this show in some was shape or form
as far as youtube is concerned it feels less popular. in my opinion
it’s the 4th largest tumblr community regarding of musical theatre and has a pretty big following
The only thing that this version doesn't include is Jacks monolouge. I get that its not really part of the song. But its so powerful.

I literally just got the cast list for my local production of this musical and I am so happy to say that I got Davey! I’m so excited to sing this!
I wish we had a big enough program in my school and enough people and talent... just the truth here my mom does choreography and she wants to do this but she is like they would not get it...

It was annoying and petty
Now-a-days strikes are petty. People used to rebel for their freedom, respect, or something honorable. Now? People strike because they want more breaks (which is fine, IF they get like one 10 minute break when they have a 10 hour shift. If it's simply because they're 'tired' when they have a 10 minute break every hour, then it's petty.)
My grandpa went on strike a long time ago at one of his jobs.

I love this musical and the movie the songs are amazing
i was having a newsies dance party with friends (6ft apart obviosly) and one decided it was a good idea to challenge me to a high kick contest (mind you i am a high kick master. i also have glasses) this song was playing and i was thinking about how Ben Cook kicks his face wile doing a high kick, and guess what i do, I do such a great high kick that i hit my glasses and fell backwards. it was amazing timing

Saw this show last night it was really good
My 7th grade choir did this last year, once for our concert and once to for a show choir thing to show to another class. too bad I didn’t get involved in theatre or Newsies and the fun of it until then, and too bad I didn’t know about how cool broadway is until summer after 6th grade, other than that it was just pretending I was Anna from Frozen 😅. I’ve done youth theatre before, but I didn’t know until later, my biggest regrets. My choir teacher showed us a clip of this scene.
