Hey Dino, Nice review! I'm a proud owner of the BS4 version (Dual ABS). Have taken my bike to Karnataka even. I love it. Free mods made - saddle stays, lights, visor (gives it a very neat/cool look). Performance is up there. My only gross, if I were to call out that, is that it lacks a 6th gear (for cruising). Rest, yes, it's indeed a lovely package. Stay safe, take care. Cheers!!

In terms of refinement & reliability, It is the leading one! No doubt! I think it is a good choice for touring to cruise # 80-100kmph. A good low end torque always the first choice while riding in hilly roads. Also linear power delivery is a topmost factor while touring! These factors are truly present in this machine!
I have a BS4 ABS model and whenever I open throttle... the torque the exhaust note..this bike always puts a big smile on my face!!! Trips made on this bike so far:: Pune to Hyderabad Pune to Ganpatiphule via Chiplun Pune to Gokarna Pune to Bhimashankar and many many more !!!

Lots of comment against this bike and just an fyi this is a great bike without the 6th gear, liquid cooling and additional power. After the price cut of 20K its got into vfm 250 category. The seating comfort for both rider and pillion is way too good and the engine lasts very long and reliable as all knows. Check with the ones owning this and you’ll know the extras which this bike misses out is not actually missed. The only thing Yamaha should have changed is the speedo instrument console which is very basic and outdated, for a 250 cc bike it must have had a gear indicator. This is the best bike in the segment if pricing (1.33 ex-sh), mileage, maintenance and comfort is considered as the most important needs for touring. The torque is the highlight when we talk about power. Incase they add a 6th gear it further improves cruising and top speed. And in real the bike looks good, check it out in a Yamaha showroom.
This is probably the game changer in the 250cc segment, the most affordable quarter liter, this is gonna be a real tough competition for the D250 though it lack at some places but its a package and its a YAMAHA 💥
Looks are perspective, but today I have seen it in a showroom, its not as ugly as I thought by watching it on the photos & videos, trust me. And the blue colour is damn gorgeous

I have this non ABS old machine since 2 years ago its still the best either m on highway or traffic only and only 6 th gear i always feel missing on highway..! Over all this is the best bike !

I've ridden the old FZ25. Till 80kmph it feels like a good bike. Gets very stressed past 100 and at 130 you're literally at the edge of what the bike can give. It needs a 6th gear badly. May be a bit more power. But the pricing is just too bad. Back when it was 1.3 ex showroom, it felt alright. But 1.55 is bit too steep for what it is. Ultimately all of this made me go for the Gixxer 250. I'd say FZ is commuter which can do some sporty riding, while the Gixxer 250 is for sporty riding but can do commuter stuff when needed.

@@vishnudev371 First of all the fz cant 'smoke' the dominar in a 0-100. Sure it may be ahead by a small lead but what do you expect ? Dominar is a cruiser with a much higher weight but when it comes to top end performance and high speed cruising the Dominar 250 is much more smooth and effortless thanks to the DOHC engine. Also it is packed with features like slipper clutch, USD forks, 300 mm front disc, liquid cooling and above all it looks KILLER. So the dominar 250 its a much better deal than the Fz25. Edit- also dont forget the 6th gear and 27 bhp of dominar250 compared to the 5 speed unit with only 20 bhp on the fz😂.
@@nohvembr4555 i own a 2017 dominar 400 and one of my friends own a dominar 250 and one a fz25 after riding both for more than 300km i can say without a doubt that the fz is the better machine. Its a complete sleeper. Yeah it makes 20hp on papper but im pretty sure it puts out the same amount of power to the wheels and coupled with the 20nm torq lower at the revrange it pulls like a madman. Compared to that the dominar 250 is a sloth in a 0-100. And not as exciting when you open the throttle. And the usd fork and console etc it only appeals to younger riders who want to brag about their motorcycle. Edit: with 27hp and a 6th gear it still gets "smoked" by a 5speed yamaha.

Not updated engine !! I owns a yamaha FZ but never go for FZ 25 bcz same old engine , less power & only 5 gears , Gixxer 250 is best in class today . If you don't mind with fairing one 👌☺️
Yup! All bs6 bikes have become slower than their bs4 versions. The fz25 usually passed the 140kmph mark. Now its clear even with a smaller rider it hardly touches 135. Had plans for a newer bike. Not feeling like getting one anymore.
The front number plate position on the visor really spoils the look of this bike & its a no no aspect. It should be moved to the shocks, below the visor.
Yamaha wasted a solid opportunity this time! Very high price, underpowered engine, 5 speed gearbox, outdated cluster:( Gixxer 250, Dominar 250 or even rtr 200 are better than this.

Sir..you did not talk about the vibrations, how is the handling if the rider is tackling citi traffic, the approximate mileage, the approximate throw of the headlamp, if there is a headlamp leveler, the type of chain they are using, the sprocket teeth count if possible, the horn quality and if that's a single or dual horn set up, the pillion comfort, the suspension travel if available, the front tyre size, if the ABS is too much intrusive, under seat document keeping storage, fuel filler cap is hinged or not, what all information are there in the meter console etc..etc.. at least some of the information if not all will help us understand the bike better. I have BS-4 ABS model & the rear stock tyre feels super slippery, especially on wet surfaces & while accelerating in 1st gear, which isn't very confidence inspiring... so which tyre should I shift to for better grip?
By designing such a disgusting cheap looking headlamp, Yamaha made it a complete squid bike, earlier this bike looked more mature and i had recommended this bike to others.
This video speaks everything. At 85 km speed I can hear engine screaming and rpm has almost gone peak. At 100km speed I can feel engine already straining. This is the main problem with 5 gears and absence of 6th gear. Yamaha has become like apple giving less for what being paid.
best bike 250c mileage 45 to 50and power. 120.speed.best..if any break it wil stop too on indian road...more speed its gona b risk for superbike if anyone need to stop.🔥🔥

Its been more than 2 years and my bike is performing like a new one.
Clocked 55000 kms and still no issues with engine.
Its torque output is too good.

Not updated engine !! I owns a yamaha FZ but never go for FZ 25 bcz same old engine , less power & only 5 gears , Gixxer 250 is best in class today . If you don't mind with fairing one 👌☺️

Yup! All bs6 bikes have become slower than their bs4 versions. The fz25 usually passed the 140kmph mark. Now its clear even with a smaller rider it hardly touches 135.
Had plans for a newer bike. Not feeling like getting one anymore.

Yamaha wasted a solid opportunity this time! Very high price, underpowered engine, 5 speed gearbox, outdated cluster:( Gixxer 250, Dominar 250 or even rtr 200 are better than this.

Sir..you did not talk about the vibrations, how is the handling if the rider is tackling citi traffic, the approximate mileage, the approximate throw of the headlamp, if there is a headlamp leveler, the type of chain they are using, the sprocket teeth count if possible, the horn quality and if that's a single or dual horn set up, the pillion comfort, the suspension travel if available, the front tyre size, if the ABS is too much intrusive, under seat document keeping storage, fuel filler cap is hinged or not, what all information are there in the meter console etc..etc.. at least some of the information if not all will help us understand the bike better. By designing such a disgusting cheap looking headlamp, Yamaha made it a complete squid bike, earlier this bike looked more mature and i had recommended this bike to others.

This video speaks everything. At 85 km speed I can hear engine screaming and rpm has almost gone peak. At 100km speed I can feel engine already straining. This is the main problem with 5 gears and absence of 6th gear. Yamaha has become like apple giving less for what being paid.
best bike 250c mileage 45 to 50and power. 120.speed.best..if any break it wil stop too on indian road...more speed its gona b risk for superbike if anyone need to stop.🔥🔥
