This is a demo written by Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie, like the I Want That man demo. There must be a finished version somewhere. Tom Bailey said he hoped it would appear on the next solo album which turned out to be Debravation
Since hearing this years ago, I've always felt that this should have been included on Debravation, even though it was recorded in 1988/89 for DD&B. Honestly, DD&B was a double LP, but it was released in varied permutations, so you were missing the whole message of the tale...which was a heck of a tale...all 16 songs (inc. "Liar, Liar") should have been on that classic.
I agree with all of this. I've also seen documentation to believe Tom & Alannah of the Thompson Twins gave Debbie two more songs to possibly be included on 'Debravation' but they weren't used. Maybe one of those was 'Close Your Eyes'.

I always liked this track. I have tried and hope to make accompanying videos to go with all of blondie and Debbie’s back catalogue. Shame you don’t like, but I suppose we all have our likes and dislikes.

Would love Blondie to re record this for the next album. Clem' s drumming instead of programmed and Debbies now deeper voice would be great.
