Thanks for the video, guys! Our flock is close to half bantams, all of them from the frequently broody varieties, so I have to ask: Do you have any tips on how to stop a hen once she starts brooding?
There are a few tips & tricks to break a broody hen. Some of the easier tips include removing her from the nest and closing off that nest box. You can also try placing a frozen bottle of water in the nest box, or give her a cool water bath. Sometimes these tricks will break her of her broodiness. Or, you could let her hatch a clutch of eggs and grow your flock!
Not sure how I missed this one but now I’m thinking it may get me in trouble… so if bantams are half the size that means I can get twice as many birds without running out of room, correct??? 😉
They aren’t really more prone to illness, though they are less adapted to the cold. Life expectancy may be a bit longer depending on the breed, but not too much.
Which one! 😁 Not sure where Steve got the 3 Chicken moon shirt…maybe he’ll reply. Brian’s shirt was a gift from some students of his…so not sure there either. I’ve been no help!
Thanks guys!
Thank you too for watching!
Hey guys 👋🏻 I just recently got Old English bantams and after a couple weeks my one girl is 1 egg a day for the last 3 days 😅 I’m so excited 🎃
Awesome! The Old English is considered a decent layer, but your girl is exceeding expectations! Hope she keeps it up!
Thank you for all the info :)
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Great video!!
Thanks so much!

That should work out!
I'm looking at Bantam Australorps. Unfortunately in the US I've only found 2 breeders so far.
They are tough to find here.
Who did you find? I’d love to find them! ❤
I am trying to find Black Australorp Bantams in South Africa but no luck so far
Agree bantam Cochin. My frizzle lays 6 eggs a week
Awesome!
Are bantam chickens more prone to illness than big chickens? Are their lives expectancy similar? Thank you for your videos 😊

I would like to find out which bantam breeds make good meat birds.
Good question! Not many people raise bantams for meat, but those I know of who do have Plymouth Rock bantams.
Where can I get the shirt
