It took away the creative control of the DJ's at the local radio stations and gave the control of the airwaves to major conglomerates like Clear Channel, Viacom, Disney, etc. Now Clear Channel decides what artist is hot now not the streets and these rappers are copying the next man instead of being original. You can't even call the radio station and request a song like you used to could.
It seems like yesterday when a handful of us attended the '95 Source Awards and we chanted those words at folks arguing over a seat. The impact spread throughout the entire mezzanine to the point where they laughed it off and worked something out. Strength in numbers amongst our own, I tell ya. We need more of thst today......
