- Today I attempted to take on one of the, if not the, hardest level in Mario Maker 2 so far. Dan Salvato has created a level very similar in feel and style to his "P is for Pain" level from Mario Maker 1 and it's just as tricky, precise, and fun to play! Can we beat it? Let's find out!

I have no other way to contact you so a comment will have to do. I´m a 45 year old father of a 9 year old kid who follows you more than he heeds my own words. His Name is Miguel Angel and we live in México. I have been playing video games most of my life now. My first console was a Matell Electronics, Intellivision, then followed by the NES. Never owned an Atari.
If someone who knows what frustration is during a video game is me.
Back then we didn´t have any quick saves or anything like that to continue a game. If you lost you lost, if your mom called you to have supper or lunch that was it. You had to start all over again.
My son has seen his share of video game channels in youtube, some I can say they are pretty obnoxious, and others just plain rude and inappropriate for kids.
However one day I sat with him to watch a video of yourself and I sit with my son to watch them ever since.
If there is such a thing as a Video Game Mr Rogers, that would have to be you. Kids these days are so accustomed to instant gratification, their frustration tolerance is close to zero. Many kids choose to quit doing something before they even face the cold hard face of defeat....over, and over and over and over again. The lessons you are teaching kids with your videos are several.
1.- The most important one is: ITS JUST A GAME. Its supposed to be fun, not suffered.
2.- If at first you don´t succeed, try try again: ive seen you fail and fail and fail and fail and not quit.
3.- Laugh at your own mistakes and failures: If you have this quality you are bound to go far in life. Because the hardest judge we have in life is ourselves and nothing keeps us from achieving our goals than our own fear of failure, or the fear of being judged.
4.- Practice makes perfect.
5.- Don´t take teasing personally, just go with the gag. It´s easy to see that in every troll level you have faced.
6.- Set yourself new challenges and goals: you do this every time you set yourself in a challenge of, let´s say, finish a level without collecting coins.
7.- Compliment people on their efforts: You don´t hesitate to recognize when a level is fun or someone has done a good job. That is a great quality for a human being. Envy is horrible.
8.- Always look at things from the good side. You don´t fail. You learn how not to do things.
9.- Growing up does not mean to have a foul mouth
10.- If I could choose someone for my son to spend a whole day with, I´d choose you any given day.

Tracy H I have played a lot of Tetris, and I’ve never heard of Tetris fever before. Ive heard of the Tetris effect which is also known as Tetris syndrome, and it’s pretty similar. I’ve had it a lot recently, and it’s kind of hard to explain, but to put it simply, it’s kind of like where when I play so much, it kind of takes over my thoughts and dreams. My friends have had the same experience for some other games. I even know a guy who is a speedcuber and has it. It started when I first got into Tetris 99, and every time I closed my eyes images of the tetriminos falling would keep popping up, making it hard to sleep. It only took a week for it to start happening, and I was only playing for 1-2 hours a night. Now it’s gotten a lot more intense. This will be really hard to explain, but basically everyday objects turn into tetriminos. Like for example I see a bunch of buildings in the background and all of a sudden they are like tetriminos falling down. I even sometimes am just doing something and the tetriminos just pop out into my eyes. I’ve gotten used to it by now, but it’s like I can image everything being tetriminos.

Usually, after Dave gets past the few first parts of the level, I see ABSOLUTELY no death markers when he dies other than his own! He keeps on making it further than ANYONE has!
Yeah he downplays his skills quite a bit while commentating lol. He's actually a pretty good player and I've seen him pull off stuff that I'd constantly be struggling to do in a Mario game.
Actually, it doesn't look like it saves them consistently... that said, he does get a lot further than most people, I'm sure

The amount of times you could tell that Dave just wanted to scream out expletives but had to remember "Family channel, family channel, family channel" is crazy, well done on keeping composure! I could never do vids like that, I'd get frustrated and rage quit, so I highly respect that you're able to take the deaths and still have fun, I envy that. I will add my endorsement for the 8bitdo SNES pro controller. I don't mind creating levels with my switch pro controller, but when I'm playing I switch to my 8bitdo. The d-pad is so much more responsive, switch pro controller's d-pad is just a bit too mushy for me.
DGR I highly recommend it. The Dpad is significantly more accurate and makes a huge difference for harder levels, also it feels more natural to play 2D mario on a SNES style layout

Dave in a nutshell
I think its actually the exact opposite of a pseitch jump. A p switch jump has a frame for you to land from above in order to jump. On off jumps have a frame from when you hit the bottom. Cool stuff!
