Glad you made it to the LLangollen, this was my favourite canal, We got frozen in at a place called Ellesmere for 42 days in 2010, the ice was so thick nobody could go any where, but the country side was beautiful.
Yes the Llangollen is beautiful but so busy we went down the Montgomery for 2 weeks and came back on the Llangollen but it was so busy 73 boats in one day went past us so got to Chirk tunnel and turned back around we are back on the Montgomery and it is so quiet.
Beeston iron lock is unique. It’s made of iron because the sand content in the soil made the normal stone locks subside. The lock landing is actually just before the bridge opposite the boat yard. The side of the canal between the bridge and the lock is sloped so that it doesn’t collapse. The inside of the lock has bowed over the years so it is advisable to only lock one boat at a time to prevent them getting stuck on the sides.

Dad is not retired, he's only 48. Mum is retired. We don't share bank accounts, and my job is filming and editing these videos, believe it or not they do take quite a long time to edit, usually 5-8 hours 👍

Hi Taylors. I hope you got your alternator sorted. Being a month or so after the event, I guess you are OK but I recently saw a video about the problems charging lithium batteries and it over heating alternators... May be of interest to you if you haven't seen it before. I thought it may be the reason why yours was charging too much. Pete.
We have sorted the alternator. Andy put the new one on the next day. We bought a spare one months ago just in case. We have changed our acid batteries now to pure lead carbon which are much better.
Omg your mum and her glasses made me laugh out loud she is so lovely 💓💓we went to Tintagel in Cornwall one year and there was a shop that just sold pasties or oggies and the queue was massive can your dad not make his lovely pasties and sale them from your boat I am sure there would a market for them or is there to much red tape. Hi Pamela I have bought new glasses since then and they have both arms for now. They are only cheap reading glasses so don't last long. As for the pasty selling idea we did think about it but with the cats we probably wouldn't be able to do it. Health and hygiene and all that stuff.
Question when you stop for water and no one is waiting behind you is it a good time to do wash and take showers? This way I would think you could keep extra water and get everything done. Would you please show the pump out from start to finish sometime please would love to see how everything works. That control panel looked interesting. May I ask the charge for it? Is there a limit on time or the amount that comes out? Was wondering if you needed to put water in the tank while pumping out to flush it sometime? And can it freeze in the wintertime? Thank you I know it’s a lot. Susan
Hi Susan I will get Josh to film the pump out from start to finish for you. We buy the cards for the crt pump outs and get them sent to Andys daughters as she lives near Andy work now. The cost 16.25 each and I usually buy 2 that costs 35 with deliver but in a marina it usually costs £20. The machine lasts about 8 minutes on a time and you can pause when you want to flush the tank out with a hose. Next time we do a pump out like I said I will get Josh to film it ok 👍

Hi Susan. The water comes under the CRT boat licence you have to buy every year. The cost depends on the size of the boat. It costs us 1100 a year if you pay upfront or direct debit costs about another 200. Josh has filmed the pump out Susan so look out for it in a future video. We will have to think of something Andy can make for Christmas maybe mince pies.
The mic port on Joshs camera is broken so he can't get another mic. He will try and not look away from the camera hopefully that will help. Keep watching and enjoying Andrew.

Josh is our bow thruster for now. Its only in certain circumstances we need a bow thruster most of the time we manage

Change the alternator as soon as possible over charging will damage your 12v electrics
