Great information and testing, my main issue is my Fimi Mini 3 won’t fly straight, it constantly crabs. The little things don’t bother as much. Thanks for sharing.
@@RonaldBrown59 : Below where you find Flight records is a Maintenence option. In there if there is not a "Drone Calibration" option.. you do not have the option turned on and have to ask Fimi to do so by providing them your Fimi ID number.
My experience: - The IMU calibration has helped a lot but hovering is still far more unstable than that of the DJI Mini 1 or 2; - Sometimes the connection between the drone and the RC is broken even when they are only some meters away. Then the craft slowly descents wherever she is and I can't do anything; - H264 and H265 videos with the same settings (quality, resolution) are the very same size; And I still don't know how I can get my flight records out of my drone/phone. I love DJI's way of putting the data in subtitles. Fimi's development process is impossible. How do you think they can compete this way in the market?
As far as range is concerned I have switched to 2.4ghz and use reflectors with 2.4ghz yagi uda antennas. Now get about a km whereas before got 600m range. You keep saying image is better on cloudy days. Might want to try adding ND4 or 8 filter on real sunny days. (Not sure filters exist?) Overall, the fimi mini 3 is good for the price. However, disappointed in range and flight time as well as hover. I flew my dji mini 2 recently and it was a pure pleasure. Everything worked perfectly. Only real plus with the fimi are some of the added features. In particular TRACKING/FOLLOW and WAYPOINTS. Also the manual orbit and some of the quickshots are way better than DJI.

Jokingly... I guess that's why I fly Fimi ! 🤣.. But honestly, the reasaon I don't fly my DJI Mini 3 much is.. I just don't like the way it unfolds and it's lack of features (NFZ etc.).
ha ha fimi have had 7+yrs to figure out and fix the horizon tilt..... its never gonna happen. my mini2 is the last fimi i will buy because of this. even if they fix it, i've given up on them. i wont buy dji, i'll just stick with my v2 forever.
My beef is.. Every time there is an update... you really have to go over the entire system again because there will be something that changed unexpectedly and if you are flying and something is not as it has always been.. you might be a little confused.
@@Evilroco : I think the 1.1.37 and the 1004i are best in the end. Until they fix stuff. I do hear that they are now coming out with ANOTHER update to fix the cock-ups of this last one.

GM, I am really sorry, I really like your in-depth videos, but I think the reason for most of your follies is your lack of technical knowledge combined with nitpicking. Soft / hard decoding is a way to decode the incoming FPV video stream - soft means it's decoded by the mobile CPU, hard means it's decoded using video acceleration functions in the hardware (specialized video decoding chip). I have the Mini 3 and basically do not have any of the issues you repeatedly complain about. Just checked recordings from my last flight and even my horizon is level. Why do you call Fimi releasing updates follies? Shouldn't we be grateful that they are supporting the app and updating the firmwares? Many chinese companies won't bother at all. I am happy with my drone. It was cheap, it's packed with features and the manufacturer invests in further app and firmware development. BTW the reason for the SE is obviously the cost. There probably are customers who would be OK with the worse camera and two axis gimbal yet would like to fly this very capable aircraft for a lower price compared to the original Mini 3.
I appreciate you knowledge base. Obviously you understand a chipset more than I. I have addressed the issues you raise and have given kudos to Fimi for their attempts at better communications. Is there an FPV decoding option button?? I suspect price is subjective. DJI & a few others have several offerings at the same price point. Please continue to correct me in any mistakes I make. If I don't know something I try to always emphasize that. Again.. I really do appreciate comments for people that know a lot more than I do on subjects. I am after all just a Drone Hobbyist, learning every day. Thanks..😃👍🙏

On my first Fimi Mini 3 video I had the same experience when I flew the DJI Mini 3 after the Fimi Mini 3... No comparison at all.

Hi GM, if a pilot wants drama they should buy Fimi. If they want just a dull perfect flight that works like it should, buy DJI.
