- This is a step by step tutorial about how to upgrade the memory (ram) & upgrade the harddrive on an Asus Viviobook Max X441BA Laptop X441BA-CBA6A.

*****RAM UPDATE: ONLY USE the ram frequency 1866/2133mhz. Despite what Asus & Crucial have told me, 2400mhz IS NOT compatible with the Asus X441BA Main Board!! I learned this through trial & error until I realized what was wrong. I have went through Transcend, Crucial, & Kingston at 2400mhz and I could not even get to the BIOS!
I am now using:

Type: 8GB DDR4 2133mhz 260pin Laptop Ram Stick. The laptop comes with a soldered onboard 4GB memory chip. The motherboard only supports a max of 12GB (or a maximum of 8GB ram stick for the 1 available slot). You can purchase this item for $40 USD on Amazon.

Asus X441BA Harddrive Upgrade ##

Supports up to a 2.5inch 2TB SATA3 harddrive. I recommend getting a Solid State Drive (SSD). It will make this laptop operate fast and smooth. They are extremely reliable after years of development and advancement. They also produce less heat and noise than a traditional mechanical HDD. You can purchase a 500GB SSD for $50 USD on Amazon.
With these two cheap upgrades, you can have a nice quick little laptop that will provide a pleasant experience.

thanks for saving my time with the ram, my advice: while this model is still "fresh" get extra fan, you won't be able to find it in few years

Great video. I have same laptop and watching was helpful, especially since Crucial said I needed 2 sticks of RAM. I ordered from Office Depot the DRAM and I got 1 stick, the other stick package was empty. Since it only can take one, I installed it and working so far. Waiting on hard drive SSD. Hope it speeds it up! Thanks again!

Thank you so much. I followed your instructions and it worked , second time 😅jajaja My laptop was stuck on bios screen, so I watched your video again and I realized that it is crucial to push and press the card to avoid that issue 😓so I did more pressure on the card and it worked 😃😃thanks 👍🏻

Thanks. I followed these directions for an Asus F441BA. The original 4GB DIMM was 2400; replaced it with an 8GB 3200. Made sure to upgrade the BIOS first though.

THANK YOU for this! I just need something that I can work on some very light Texturing (for 3D work) while at the cigar lounge so I knew I was getting a cheap laptop that needed upgrading. Lots of useless info out there so this video kicks ass.
