  • In this video, we partnered with Tourism Calgary to explore some of Calgary's hidden gems. There are loads of things to do in Calgary, but even as locals, everything we did in this video was the first time we've done it!
    From world-class fishing on the Bow River to Indigenous walking tours and biking around the best neighbourhoods, we hope this video inspires you to explore one of the most beautiful cities in Canada.
    But don't miss part 2 either! Another unique feature of visiting Calgary is that the Foothills are less than an hour away. This unique countryside features charming small towns, unique adventures, delicious restaurants, an incredible array of artisans and craft markets. This will be in part 2 of Calgary's Hidden Gems!

    We’re Matt & Karla, a Canadian couple with two totally different backgrounds.
    Matt is the “quintessentially Canadian”, born under the northern lights in Northern Alberta with family all over the country, whereas Karla is originally from Mexico City, bringing a totally fresh perspective to a country she has fallen in love with.
    Over the past 10 years, we have travelled to 42 countries spanning six continents, which has given us the expertise to plan amazing trips and find memorable experiences.
    In 2017, we decided to explore our own massive backyard with Road to 150, a 150-day #roadtrip across #Canada, witnessing the beauty and diversity of this country and sharing our experiences through video, pictures, social media, and articles. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of Canadians and travellers worldwide make the most of every Canadian experience.

    Even though I live in Edmonton…I have not made it to Calgary very often. I only made it to the Calgary Zoo 2 years ago when the Panda exhibit was there. It was an awesome zoo. It took me 58 years to see it…😳🤷🏻‍♀️ but, so glad I finally did. 👍👏 All of your food looks absolutely delicious. 👍😋 Thanks for sharing your adventures.

    Calgary is the only major affordable city in Canada for current and future generations Canadians and Immigrants. Calgary also has fastest growing tech, finance and film industry. Moreover, Calgary is also world’s cleanest and most livable city. I am already seeing some of my friends and family members who work from home moving to Calgary to buy home and get rid of expensive rental life in ON or BC. We will see more people moving from BC or ON to Calgary in coming years. Calgary is also sunniest ☀️ city in Canada.

    • @MustDoCanada
      @MustDoCanada  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All true, but the bad news is this means Calgary will likely get even more expensive. It's already outrageous to me as I've seen it over the last 15 years. I'm not sure what the solution is

      @@MustDoCanada I’m
      Biased having spent a lot of time growing up in Tokyo, a city of almost 40 million people. But 1.4 million is nothing. NOTHING. haha. A “small” train station in some cities will have only three platforms and the big ones will have up to thirty platforms with restaurants and clinics and security offices in every. Single. Station. Our train stations don’t even have bathrooms 😂. Let alone thirty platforms. No 1.4 million is nothing. 4 million and up is ideal for me! You can’t move here from Tokyo, New York, or beijijg and think Calgary has a large population 😂

    • @MustDoCanada
      @MustDoCanada  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well of course. Everything is relative. I’m in Mexico City now, the 2nd largest city in the world. But you couldn’t pay me to live here. There’s a reason Calgary is ranked in the top 3 cities worldwide for quality of life. If you enjoy crowds and cramped living spaces in exchange for that buzz of people, then yes, Tokyo, NY, Toronto, etc. We prefer nature and outdoor activities, which makes Calgary hard to beat.
