We only like sympathetic villains in fiction. In real life, if we see someone as the bad guy, we will ignore any possible good the person did as well as what may have gotten them to that point of "villainy," and demonize that person as much as possible to justify hating them.

    • @itsgarytime2768

I see this happen alot and as someone who had a mentor growing up we had alot of deep talks. One of them was about saving people because they clearly dont want to be saved. And like one post on the vid said was that people fully believe and accept they're products of their reality and wil have a hard time dealing with change. But it isn't impossble just difficult. So he opened my eyes after talking that there are alot who can be saved they just need someone to help them save themselves and others just dont care. Personally its like Darth Vader and so in my mind i call it the Darth Vader effect because vader needed and wanted luke to help turn him to a better path even if he wasn't fully aware of what he wanted. But for most people its always gonna be the one person who means the most to them that has the save them. I called it the vader effect and i keep it in mind when i see sad or angry people or have friends that way.

    • @lpsgarrett30

I think majority of the reason why we never want to accept real villains in real life it's because those people are personal to us. Have betrayed us and have gas-lit us and traumatized Us in some way. I don't mean to speak generally, I'm just speaking for those who can't seem to tell the difference between an actual abuser and somebody who's done some petty shit.
It's easier to forgive someone who's genuinely terribly sorry for what they have done to hurt you. Usually fictional villains have some sort of story arc that we can kind of tap into. And it's usually mentally ill villains that we all like to empathize with because media villainizes mental illness in general. The moment we actually meet somebody on the outside world that says they have a psychosis or personality disorder, it's immediate judgment. Regardless if we have any background on if that person's getting treatment, or isn't violent or is genuinely an actual good person with disorder.

I remember even as a kid I never really hated villains and there is one thing my friend said which stuck to me for many years " even if they have done bad things there still people and have feelings and there own lives" In short what im trying to say is that bad things and action dont make a bad person its what other people do about the bad things that make them who they are.

Funny enough I've always felt it's been the opposite the more you genuinely accept reality the more you don't have to be bothered by nonsense insanity and the way human society has been for wherever you are and whatever part of the world you are in ... pointless to deal with nonsensical struggles when you could live the best way you want except reality and recognize that it's a brilliant thing it may not be brilliant right now but you can build it to something...that way look over the reality of what is there and recognize that it doesn't have to be like this or when you think of how reality should be... Personally never understood why people wanted to be in their own problematic pitfalls... people want to be in there even if people complain honestly it's because they don't want to leave their comfort of it but they don't want to succeed but they want to try more so they just sit there and complain about where they are and where they want to go.. an endless cycle a very tragic way too

TLDR; its ok to do what you do. Just know your limits
Hey, I've been thinking a lot about your comment. There are a lot of layers.
Good has to come from somewhere
But you can only do so much.
      You can't fix everything.
      And You're only 1 person.
But then again, good has to come from somewhere
But it may not be the help they need
It may not be the help they want
And they may not actually need help
But then again, good has to come from somewhere
      But you're in pain
      You're suffering
      You need help instead
But then again, good has to come from somewhere
No greater love than this than a man layeth down his life for a friend
Good has to come from somewhere. If not you, than who?
The world has become a dark place.
And a famous quote. "In the darkest of times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength."
Us humans have the ability to take a harsh truth and reality, and just not believe in it.
"Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."
      -Secondhand Lions
      And also
"Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love."
      --Gandalf
Never forget the harsh reality though.
Know your limits. And Boldly stop before you go to deep. You can't save the world, and you yourself have to be in a good state to be able to do the most good.
Just never expect anything in return.

More exactly, bad things happen to good people because we live in a universe that is inherently chaotic and uncaring. There is no god or gods looking out for anyone. Maybe there is something that could be called a god out there, but they sure as hell aren’t paying attention to us. Most likely, the universe exists by pure coincidence and nothing ever happens for any reason other than random chance or the direct result of the actions of people. There is no inherent meaning to life, the universe, or anything. But that’s good! That means you get to carve out your own meaning in this brief miracle of chance we call life.

We were created by someone else’s desires, expected to live a certain way and behave and contribute in a society where demands are so high but everyone does them so seemingly simple. • @Arkainjel

You family doesn't always have to come first.
Many people are abused, even as adults, by family members who exploit the "family first" concept, knowing that you'll willingly make great sacrifices for the sake of a blood relation.
Don't do this. You shouldn't need to give more than you received. If your family has done you wrong, or been neglectful toward you, then they are the ones who never practiced what they preach, and they're only telling you to put family first to guilt and manipulate you into servitude.
I've known too many people who have sacrificed everything for family; quit their job in a good career, or dropped out of school, or ended a relationship with a person they love, or generally hold themselves back from succeeding in life, uprooting and moving across the country, or to another country entirely. It breaks my heart to see every time.
And to be clear, I don't mean your kids (although you DO deserve the occasional "me" time). And I don't mean the good families who maybe made a mistake or two. If your family members have done right by you, then by all means return the good they've given. What I mean is you shouldn't feel obligated to care for a grandparent who never loved you, or a parent who physically abused you, or a drug-addled aunt, or a cousin who is in and out of jail, as examples.

I feel like some of these people are very sad miserable people with no one in their life who cares about them and that's why they claim it's a harsh reality that no one actually cares about you across the board. It hurts them to think that their case isn't the norm and the vast majority of people have at least one person in their life who truly cares about them. Whether that's a grandparent or sibling or friend or friends parent or teacher or child or parent. The people who think no one actually cares about any one else are the ones living in a delusion. Or maybe it's because they don't actually have anyone they truly care about and they fake it so they assume everyone else is faking it too. Either way that isn't the norm for most people.

As a “pretty” person, you never know when someone is REALLY interested in YOU or if they are only invested in your looks, which will fade. People also always judge your relationships. I’ve been told that I moved my current companion into the 5-6 range from the 2-3 he WAS in because I was there to improve his image. I had never felt so much like a fucking object, and my anger was so intense I almost snapped and decked the bastard who dared to insult my object of affection. Pretty privilege definitely exists, and I’ll never say that my looks didn’t get me ahead. But I hate the way our society champions something so shallow and ultimately insignificant.

Beauty is prioritized, because it indicates health. Good healthy genes are universally attractive. Ugly= lowborn=poor=unfit highborn men, and to some extent women, typically can choose an optimally attractive mate, whereas the poorest/weakest men have generally had to be content with the leftovers. It is a positive thing for the species that we select this way, but it really sucks for the individuals who fall on the short end of the biological/socioeconomic end of things.

The bits about the advantage of beauty are spot on. I’m an average looking guy (probably a 5-6, 7 on a *really* good day) and when I worked at bars I made a point of making the beautiful people wait a bit. Not too long, as it’s unfair to single anyone out because of how they look, but just enough to let them know that not everyone is going to give them what they want.
I also taught a girl who was very pretty. At age 18 she knew she could use her looks to get what she wanted, but she had a really good mind and I wanted her to know just how much more of an advantage it is to be intelligent. She never liked doing homework and tried to flirt her way out, but unfortunately for her I prefer women my own age (early 40s) and wasn’t having any of it.
Put simply, a sad truth about being beautiful is that if it ever goes away you’ve got nothing left unless you worked hard at something when you were younger.

There is not and will never be real equality. I know alot of people who fight for and believe in equality, but the fact is people are different and vary widely in their ideas, their values and their ambitions. Some people are natural leaders while most aren't, some people are exceptionally intelligent while many people are frankly dumb as rocks, some people are gifted and talented in the arts or any number of things. So there will always be people who rise to the top while others sink to the bottom.
Race, gender and other things may and often do factor into your place in the world sadly, but too often these are used as excuses for poor choices and abused to play the system, which ends up hurting all of us.
Equality as an idea is only applicable on a basic level. Etc everyone has one vote in an election, everyone should have an equal right to speak their mind and so on, but we must accept that any system run by people will inevitably be flawed as well because people are flawed. Human nature is selfish and avoids responsibility, exceptions do exist but are few and greatly outnumbered.
There will always be flaws in our society and it will never be perfect, someone will always be at the bottom, no matter what we do to fix it or make it better. Utopia is a fool's dream and the pursuit of it is rooted in naive optimism and has led to much suffering in history.

Failing at one goal can still bring success in another, and that's a reality that's harsh only to people who radically oppose change. You're using the internet because of a woman, thank the suffrage movement. You're literate without needing to join the clergy, thank defiance of a corrupt church's status quo. You can still eat despite a MASSIVE population, thank scientists. We're always chasing utopia, despite naysayers, and we're not there yet. We'll never get there. But we KEEP. GETTING. CLOSER. Because we try.

I always find it sad that some parents don't love their children. A lot of this is to do with the fact that the way we raise our children is extremely unnatural. The saying is "it takes a village to raise a child" which is the truth. Children in tribes will group together to entertain one another, and the entire tribe will keep an eye on them; each tribe filling some role for the kids. The parents have the same roles, of course, but the pressure is elevated by the kids entertaining themselves and having other adults protect them as well. In the modern world, kids need their parents to be Everything, because we don't have a community to watch them. And it's just not possible for a parent to do everything. It is a huge strain on parents. They start to resent their kids and don't have time to enjoy and appreciate their kids.

Mine is that sometimes, people doing awful things to you don’t do it out of malice. Granted it isn’t exactly in your overall best interest, hell it probably isn’t in your best interest at all, but they likely aren’t thinking anything along the lines of “If if say this to them, it’ll ruin their week and they’ll be miserable for days.”. Most likely, they do or say that thing without much coherent thought. The worse an action against someone is, the less verbal their thought process is- because they can’t accept that reality.
It’s easy to want to believe that people who make you miserable are bad people in general, and that may even be true, but if you continue wondering what exactly they were THINKING, you’ll paint a worse image of them than there is, and drive yourself mad in the meantime.
It doesn’t make the actions worse, it doesn’t make the impact better, but it’s something to take into mind when looking for someone to blame.
For example, my older sister often comments on my weight and what I eat. Sometimes it’s something small like “There’s a lot of sugar in that.” Or sometimes it’s big, like “She doesn’t have big hips, it’s just fatty tissue.”. I feel horrible about my weight, but I know that she doesn’t do it with the thought process of “If I point out her jiggly thighs, it’ll make her ashamed of them.” Because I know she doesn’t think it through coherently at all. She likely doesn’t even realise she’s doing it.
It doesn’t make the effect smaller, I still hate my body, but it helps me accept that I can’t resent her for it completely and is likely gone be the reason I don’t hate her when I’m grown.

A part of me will never understand why people would rather live in constant fear, than live for what life brings you. Sure, I'm afraid of dying, I wish I was immortal or at least ageless, but I'm so young, I have a whole life ahead of me, and there's so much I can do if I choose to do so. It's counter intuitive to regret past mistakes and avoid issues at present, you're letting something rule and govern you, as if a puppet master controls everything you do and feel. Is that what people want? To live in fear so somebody can coddle them 'till their dying moments?

And UNLESS THE PERSON ACCIDENTALLY HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE ⚠️). *IF NONE OF THOSE ABOVE MENTION, and the person confirmed to have a NORMAL FUNCTIONING BRAIN, and still he or she REMEMBERS EVERYONE SO WELL, except for you, either your existence OR YOUR NAME. For example you’ve seen this person you knew 6 years ago, and when you greeted him or her, they don’t recognize you, but when you mention someone else’s name you live with and the person knows off, REMEMBERS IT chances are that person SUBCONSCIOUSLY wasn’t enough interested with your presence, you could even be family members or ex-coworkers and that person remembers A LOT of people from your working place but you or except for you and a few numbers of people, it means, they din’t valued your presence enough EITHER THIS AS INTENTIONALLY OR UNINTENTIONALLY(which in most cases it is) this leads them to forgetting you. Even if you have them some remembrance or tell them memories of the activities or past conversations you’ve had, and still the person had hard times remembering you, then they’d never valued you, AND IN MANY CASES, THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW THIS, THEY AREN’T AWARE. Just like in school subjects, there’s one or two subject you’re forced to have interest in order to pass, but you still fail them regardless of how much efforts you make for it, it’s because that subject is BORING, that subject you’re interested in the MOST notice how much you excel in it compared to the other average subjects.
