You have to watch each episode in its entirety in order to appreciate the set up of the jokes. Most of them run the entire episode, believe it or not. That way u will find it hilarious

Yep, hard to pick up on the humor with short clips. The comedy builds up over the episode and stuff that looks like nothing in isolation is hilarious in context

I think one of the moments I love the most took 7 or 8 years to build.... when Michael gives Oscar a demented sock puppet as a goodbye gift on his final day and Oscar pretends to love it then it cuts to him laughing hysterically because Oscar expects so little that he acts like a mother getting a gift from her idiot child
The thing with the Office and the characters, is that it gets exponentially funnier and funnier the more you get to know them. That's why it felt slow at first if you've never seen it.
Exactly. Like meeting a new friend or group of people. By season 6, you feel like you’ve known them forever lol
Very accurate. The first couple of times I tried to watch it I couldn't get pass episode 3 because I didn't understand the humor. Once I decided to keep watching, it easily became one of the funniest shows I've ever watched.

You definitely need context for The Office, which comes from watching at least a few episodes. Some episodes could stand on their own e.g "Prison Mike". But if you have context even minor characters can be funny... even when everyone's silent, because you understand the dynamics between them
Fun fact, when they filmed this show they actually all showed up for work at 7 am and pretended like they were going into a real office job. They wanted it to seem as real and genuine as possible. & yes this show is easily one of the funniest shows of all time, definitely funnier than Wayans Bros respectfully
People who 'get' The Office comedy we laugh from way down in our gut such a laughter that seems to explode out of you because it's so funny. Not many shows do that to me - especially season 1-5
Parks and Recreation show is the same style of comedy. Also the mockumentary comedy film What We Do In The Shadows is basically like The Office, except its about vampires who are roommates living in modern day New Zealand. Exactly the same type of dry, witty, subtle humor as The Office. It's directed by Taika Waititi (who directed Thor Ragnorok and Jojo Rabbit), he also plays one of the vampires. They later made a show series based off the film, it's also called What We Do In The Shadows. Equally funny show.

The Office was the funniest show ever - if you ever worked in an office. It's pretty much what happens when you spend 8-10 hours a day in a cubicle at a keyboard and answering the phone. Great show.

“Diversity day”. That episode got pulled from airing on Comedy central. They also took a scene out of one of the Christmas episodes where Dwight is Belsnickel (A German version of Santa) and Nate from the warehouse wears blackface as (because Belsnickel’s classic character in traditional German folklore WAS historically a black character.
Dwight realized last minute that it’s racist and Cala Nate to cancel coming in then later you see Nate at the Christmas party and he still has the lipstick on

John Krasinski is the actor you keep noticing. He's pretty big in the action scene these days with the Jack Ryan series and the Quiet Place movies. He, Chris Pratt and Zachary Levi are three goofy tv comedy actors of a certain age/genre (The Office, Parks and Rec, and Chuck) who are now action or action/comedy actors (Jack Ryan, Guardians of the Galaxy, Shazam).
The office is one of the greatest shows ever made, extremely funny and entertaining 🔥

The office WAS one of the funniest shows of all time. If not the funniest. Some people don't get it but the ones that watched from the beginning do. It's a cult classic. It just kept getting better. Glad you covered the office. My brother got me into the British Office tv show before this. And I wanted to hate it but I came around. Having said this though these scenes aren’t even the closest to the best. But honestly ya gotta watch all they way through to understand all their personalities and the dynamics.

Third Rock is a show that seems to have been forgotten. It is so damn funny. John Lithgows performance as Dick is one of the most fantastic performances on TV. The kleenex scene will never not be funny.

You have to watch the best cold opens or just best of Jim and Dwight. Steve Carell's genius with Michael Scott can't be appreciated without the context of each episode. He carried the show through brilliant acting and his ability to keep a story compelling yet funny. Jim and Dwight served a different purpose for the show that actually can be appreciated in smaller clips. Steve Carell should be on the Mt. Rushmore of TV comedy for what he did with this role, but you'll never truly understand it without watching the whole show.
