Making a Custom Hawkman Helmet
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 27 ก.ย. 2024
- This week I put my own spin on a classic superhero, Hawkman. I took various bits from several different Hawkman helmets and made my own version. For this build, I used: 10 mm, 6 mm, 4 mm, and 2 mm EVA foam, Gap Filla, super glue, contact cement, Plasti Dip, Rub-n-Buff paints, and acrylic paints. You may also need the following tools: a rotary tool with various bits, a heat gun, and an Exacto knife or box cutter. Let me know in the comments below if you want to see more like this one, from shows, video games, or whatever. Please smack that like button, dropkick subscribe, and share with as many people as possible.

Here is a video I made for scaling your props to fit you. It says for scaling masks, but the same process and basic concept applies to all builds as long as you know the measurement of the person. In this case, my head is 24 inches around the forehead:

Oh holly smokes, this helmet is absolutely mind blowing 🤯🖤🤯🖤🤯🖤🤯
@@MDeLorien thanks
❤ love IT ...amazing paint job... I learned every thing i know about Eva foam from Evil Ted Smith
My god, this Is AMAZING!!
Hi Thomas
Simply THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
As we say here in ARGENTINA, you went over the top!!!!!!
@@neoatreides4869 it turned out better than I expected. Especially when I got frustrated with it in the middle of the build.
That’s wicked, love the color. I was hoping to see this build as i was watching the evil ted’s live stream and you mentioned it. Very well done sir.
@rickywhyte7601 thanks. I really enjoy watching and listening to Ted's live streams. He is just an amazing person.
i've been looking for hawkman's helmet template for a while! can't wait for your pattern!
@@Ervinzky.Geraldi pattern is up and ready for use. Hope it helps
Absolutely fantastic maybe make his battle club from the Black atom film
@Valhalla3826 thanks for the suggestion
Awesome work again thanks for the awesome tutorial keep up the great work
@timmartin2336 I'm glad you liked it, Tim. 👊
BEAUTIFUL! Omg really nice
@@kamenrider91 thanks
Thats definitely one of your best ones so far.
Loved the little spelling error on fact 5 😂😂.
Please do something from Star Wars or Lord of the Rings 🧙♂️🙏👍🏼
@christiannewling3859 it wasn't intentional but kind of works for the fact. He goes by Hawman, first name Ye. 🤣
The build is epic, Thomas. I absolutely love it. Seriously badass. Evil Ted's channel got me started with building and I have been lucky enough to meet him in person twice. The first time at a Con in Collinsville, MO and the second at a Creators Con in Oklahoma City where I also met Steve Smith and Odin Abbott. I had all three of them autograph my Mando blaster as they were three of my biggest influences. I was one happy crafter that day.
@Justrex01 thanks. Someday I will hopefully meet him and talk shop. Seems like a really genuine person, real down to earth. And all the cool stories he can tell would have me in awe for days.
Loving this! You need to do a full build/mash up. Hear me out, it would be cool to combine this with a Roman Gladiator with the Asymmetrical armor all in your style. It would be awesome! Or we need you to grow out the beard a bit and do Hawkman x Odin !!
@collinbutterfield4368 full cosplay is a tall order. And Hawkman, over the years, shows a bit more skin than I would want anyone to see of myself. It would make for a cool mashup idea though
youre hawman version is much epic! excelsior!
@@WOLFENDRACUL appreciate it. 😁👊
Also, I think a fun video idea would be for you to show us all your collection of shields. I know you have said in the past that you collect them and it would be cool’s to see them all in one video
@collinbutterfield4368 lol. It would be difficult to get them all in a video at this point. I have sold a few, given some as gifts, and a good portion of them decorate the walls in my classroom at school.
I have that Gap Filla too! Haven't used it yet, but I'm excited to try it out!
@aprilblackregentart6647 I'm definitely going to work it into the rotation. It's much easier to apply and sand than foam eva clay.
Question about gap filla. Would it work on 3d pla prints also?
@DD-vn2ev I'm not sure. This is my first time ever using it. I think it's formulated for foam. I don't know how well it would stick to a plastic or resin print.
Make a hawk tuah helmet 😂
@@skyguy149 😀 pass
Killer as always
@monstermorguetutorials3139 Thank you, my friend.
Great job. Very majestic. Any plans for something for a Halloween build? Not sure if the Beetlejuice one counted
@T-RexTalents I've got some Halloween builds in the works for sure. They will be dropping all month long. 😁👊
@@MuchProps Awesome! I can't wait! Do you have any suggestions for someone starting out? What should be someone's first couple builds?
That turned out amazing
@@darrinplank thanks
that is awesome!
@melissawurst3887 thanks. 😁👊
That’s a really good build, love the design
@philabot thanks. It's always a bit nerve-wracking to spin off an established franchise, but i enjoy the custom builds so much more. Less stress on getting it exact.
I know what you mean I did a Batman cosplay off my own design because I didn’t want people to come up and say it wasn’t correct
Would be cool to see you make the Rocketeer helmet and jetpack
@Floki1313 can't make any promises but thanks for the suggestion. The Rocketeer helmet is definitely on my to do list.
@@MuchProps I hope you do. I enjoy watching your videos
YES!!!
