Thanks for a great series, really enjoyed it! On my hunting rifle, using locally produced bonded bullets I have a quiet a big variation in bullet lengths, roughly 0.5 to 0.7mm - is this something to consider? My max COAL is 78mm so aiming for 77mm and not sure how to factor in different seating depths to test accuracy since bullet length varies?
Hi David Thanks for watching, glad you are enjoying it. You will see how much of a difference the lenght of the bullet has on your grouping size. There is a chance that you could get a length were that variation won't make a difference as you are in the sweet spot but I will almost guarantee that on a specific length it will make a massive difference and you won't get the beat out of the rifle. It would be that you would have to test the length.
Your most important aspect is speed so load the ladder and go shoot so you can get speeds of muzzle velocities rather. Once you figure out what speed the rifle wants all the other shooting can be done at 100m The advantage of distance is so you can compare speed with grouping but it's not a necessity
Depending on the caliber, bullet drop and distance you could adjust your scope to be at zero. I personally work out that the bullet drop would be at the planned slowest speed and then create a target long enough to compensate for the drop but either why you don't adjust once you have started to shoot the ladder you want to see how the speed impacts the rifle and by adjusting after each shot you won't be able to get the right info. To get bullet drop at selected distance I use strelock
As die loop warm voel dan gee ek hom so 5min rus. Ek vind dat as jy 'n jag geweer se lading doen dit baie belangrik is om elke skoot so na aan koud te skiet as moontlik. Rede daarvoor is as hy jou bok gaan skiet gaan dit 'n koue skoot wees.

@@aimsmallmisssmall264 re-reading your comment after watching your latest Step 5 video, I understand your point far better, thank you.
How would you do load development on a range with max of 100m, which is what I have readily available?

Do you offer barrel decal for purchase?
I do, where are you from?
Arizona in the States

On shooting ladders, do you play with the optics as well to get it zeroed, or pull after pull you keep your scope set the same?

So 2 of 3 skote gee jou net meer reliable data!
@@aimsmallmisssmall264 as jy bv 3 ladders laai, skiet jy eers 3 koeëls van dieselfde grein of doen jy dit round robbin styl?
