    I have been collecting knives for decades. Out of the 150 or so knives that I have (from Benchmade to Zero Tolerance) this is my all-time favorite and my daily carry. I have all three sizes of Espadas, plus Counterpoints, plus Frenzy, Recon 1, you name it. I love Cold Steel. This version is the absolute best. Outstanding video! Thanks!

      Question is it more practical getting the Large or XL?

    • @2008kenfine
      @2008kenfine 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion, the Espada Large is more practical. They both fit easily into my front right Jeans pocket, but the smaller size of the Espada Large is more wieldable in close quarters and also has less showing out of the pocket and is easier to carry. However, I love and carry them both. But the Large gets more pocket time.@@GiantsJets718

      I think the Large is much more practical. The XL is amazing, but it is more of a camp knife or zombie apocalypse knife because of its massive size. They both fit in my jeans pocket but the Large is easier to carry.@@GiantsJets718

    Nice to have a hard use review of this one in the bank. I always have a hard time deciding a favorite among the CS trio of the Espada, the Rajah and the Talwar. One of the main advantages of this one is just how well it disappears in the pocket. Despite the size, you never really know its there until needed. Fantastic design.
    Happy New Years, Pete. Hope you enjoy the holiday!

    Very nice. I've seen reviews of this knife before but this was a pretty good approach on hard use (without destroying the knife). I wouldn't maybe recommend doing coconuts with it on regular basis, but it's nice to see it held up so well 💪

    My absolute favorite knife. I carried it everywhere for years. I only stopped because xhp is hard to replace if something happens. So I only carry it once in a while. Nowadays I carry the vaquero xl serrated or the tanto they are amazing and very easy to replace. The one back pocket knife I still carry is the broken skull in xhp . I carry that because I haven’t found anything that can replace it. It is the most slicy blade I own. I kid you not the knife is like a laser and it only needs a strop once in a great while.
    I can’t see any other companies offering the knives coldsteel does for such cheap prices. The espada I bought on sale $100, the voyagers were like $55 , the broken skull I paid $45 . Take in mind these were mid grade knives 2 models with cts-xhp the voyagers with Aus10 that is really a good steel. Of course my knives were bought when coldsteel was still Lynn’s baby. I can’t imagine paying premium prices for 4034 so GSM can kiss my A#$ I’m luck to have enough knives to last 2 life times. 😊

    Nice rewiew!
    I have xl shiny model in my collection, but that was bought mainly for sitting in my pocket for safety reasons due to the fact that I work mostly night shifts with a bunch of problematic people around.
    However, I wanted something else and new in my collection and decided its time to add smaller g10 Espada with aus10 steel.
    So I got it 10 days ago and I am satisfied with it a lot.
    I use it to prepare some dry meat products, cheese, onions and other vegetables and fruit at work and to open nylons in which stuff that I work with is packed.
    However, with time it will lose it sharpness so I would like to ask do you know what is the factory angle of edge?
    Also you said you use Work Sharp. Did you changed degree perhaps?
    I have several options for sharpening, Ken Onions Work Sharp grinder is one of them, but I mainly use it for my machete (which is Cold Steel Bowie machete....surprise,surprise😂) and for some knives I can't sharpen with my Spyderco Tri Angle sharpener.
    I sharp my pocket knives with it because I maintain sharp edge so its a little to no work at all and since I can do it at work its a super relaxing to do it, also its a conversation starter! Something that I like a lot when it comes to promoting knives in a nation thats against them mostly.
    Factory edge seems to me like its a 30 degree when looking at it, but I might be wrong, so maybe its a 40 or something that will require me to use rods in Tri Angle positioned down, like sharpening stone and feel the degree on touch.
    Now excuse me, I gotta go. Got some home made olive oil from Adriatic coast, and first thing Im gonna do now is to make some eggs with onion on that oil because I adore it for breakfast and guess who will prepare the onion?
    Hint : same blade that will later prepare entire lunch heheeheheh!
    But that I will not tell due to the fact that people who read will (not may but will) experience severe need for food 😎
    Thanks again for fun and informational video 👍

    • @pistolpete4991
      @pistolpete4991  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching! Ya I sharpen it at a. 25 degree angle. I’m not sure the factory edge. Since to hold up good with that angle. I also use mine for a lot of food prep. Especially when camping. Just an all around great utility knife.

    • @dreadfulldimitri
      @dreadfulldimitri 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pistolpete4991 tnx for your reply!
      I have few blades at that angle or bigger (srk in sk5), but Im pretty sure that factory is somewhere between 15-20° per side, so 25° would be a bit too much for me.
      I sent mail to CS, but that will have to wait for reply. Who knows, maybe even factory edge is about 25 😂😂
      That means Im gonna have to catch it on those rods.
      Anyway thanks for info again and many happy times with this awesome knife.
      I love my xl with shiny handle but I didn't expect that this one will be so usable and handy.
      I suppose it beats my Talwar xl (aus8 steel) and thats another great knife.
      The only problem I had with that one was its a low rider when in pocket, not much to grab for, but some paracors solved that problem. However, I prefer clip point more so Espada wins for me.
      Talwar xl is also a great knife in that size.
      And since this is my first aus10 blade, I cant wait to see the difference.
      Hopefully stonewashed finish will NOT be rust hunter like their beadblast finish was.
