I share the same thoughts exactly. I do not mind a 7.5 inch blade like the XL has, but I do mind the huge clip and handle. I would instead go for a Cold Steel fixed blade, and keep the large version in my pocket.
I EDC the XL and its my favorite go to folder. Is the clip big? Yep. Is the handle big? Yep. Do you get used to both? Yep. Carry it long enough and the weight even feels like its a pert of you and that handle thats too big becomes an extension of you.
I like the control of the Large ober the Extra Large also but its no way I could go without having them both, but if I has to recommend one it would be the Large Espada in G10 😊

The Espada XL is a trophy knife. It's not practical but it's so cool.
Both absolutely wonderful knives. I prefer the large, similar in weight and overall carry feel to the Spartan. Keep the CS reviews coming.
