- There are surprising homes in several countries that combine a home's standard function with unexpected architecture. One such unexpected home can be found if you go to Deerfield, a suburb of Chicago. This house is at the corner of Chestnut Street and Hazel Avenue.
The lack of symmetry in that place would drive me absolutely mental.
Cozy... a word invented by the real estate industry to turn a weakness (i.e. small) into a strength.
It annoys me, because this is our planet. And now people are proud to be stuffed into a tiny coward house.

I totally would live here. It does look a little cozy and homey.
With the way the economy is going in many parts of the world, I’d say tiny or narrow houses like these are the way to go if they can do that in order to slash the price down quite a bit into a much more realistic price point for some to be able to afford.
The solution would be to use the country space, not build millions of these tiny houses.

I wouldn't want to live there, even though I love the house. Too many people would stop by, take pictures and some might want to come in. Besides, there's a much more awesome skinny house in Boston.
I love it. It would be perfect for a single person or senior citizens. It's roomier than a tiny house.
I live with my partner in a home that is 49 square meters/500 square feet. That’s a BIG house/plot. Our dog’s crate takes up the entire hallway and doesn’t fit in our bedroom which is just big enough for the bed and to walk around the edges of it.

As a senior citizen (I turned 75 just yesterday) I can attest this would NOT work for those of us who use walkers or wheelchairs.
In Raleigh, NC someone put up a 2-story home on a sliver of "UNUSABLE LAND"

I could totally see myself living here although, I would have to share it with someone in order to afford it. I would definitely want to occupy the larger section of the house. I would just need to find someone who isn't narrow minded.

The inside is bomb as well as the outside so yes I'd buy the house. I admit that I'd feel crafty in a bad Storm with strong wind but other than that it's easily my dream home. Me an my 3 children. I love it!

This comes up on my news thread random advertising as a 3' wide house. It didn't say it's shaped like a Gridiron and comes to a point at 3 ft on one side, and the picture only shows a strategical three foot wide angle. How misleading.

I'm not A fan of master bedroom up stairs in any house.. but do love the uniqueness of this house. I'd live in it or something similar..
Both bedrooms are master bedrooms. They are both the whole floor(2nd floor and the basement) so both are the same size and both have full bathrooms. So you can live in the basement if you want.

As a carpenter, I feel this house looks ridiculous both outside and in. I live in a one bedroom with a better layout than this. Horrible cabinetry by the way - the single box hanging over the dishwasher is gaudy. Should have been book-ended with shelving.

Why not. All the oak is a bit outdated and not my style, but that's an easy fix. Mi first home was 1336 sq ft and my home now is 1200, so yeah, perfect size. Especially if there's a basement. ❤️

This house couldn't possibly be 3 feet wide . It has to be at least 12 feet wide ? How were the able to fit a full size bed in there .
I like the house. I’m a sucker for homes with “character” that are still functional. Although, calling it a 3ft wide house is somewhat misleading. Haha if the whole house was 3 ft wide it would not be functional and I would not like it.

I wouldn't want to live in the house just because it is in Chicago. They are constantly having riots. Just a few days before I write this there was huge riots, not because of any reason, just 'cause.
Id live in it, yes. But i wouldn't pay that. I could get a house with much more room then that built from scratch and on its own property for less then that in many states. Like va or west va. One of my buddies bought a 5 bedroom house on 8 acres of land for less then 200k in west va. And my brother had a house built from the ground up on a nice size patch of land in va for about as much as the pie house. Granted that was 10 years ago so it would cost a bit more now.

Im going to be getting a converted shipping container or 2, maybe even a mini luxury log cabin, ive seen them for around 50k, sometimes less. Far better than getting trapped with a huge mortgage for life in a house that should not cost what it costs. Im never having kids, I like my freedom too much, same goes for a girlfriend/wife. Not happening thank you. I dont need a lot of space and only having to walk a few steps to get to anywhere in the house suits me fine.

Also, the colors chosen for the interior are hideous. And so is half the furniture. The materials used to build this house look cheap and poorly chosen. Probably was a huge mistake to post photos of it.

Kind of disappointed because the house isn't at all what they advertise it to be or what they say it to be, and it's kind of like Click bait.
The thumbnail photos only show one end of the house, and of course. It is the narrowest part of the house but most of the house is not narrow at all and that it's disappointing because I wanted to see how they architect did his thing. But apparently it wasn't much to it. All the small rooms are on the small end. And all the rooms where you want space are on the wider end. Not impressed and no longer interested

The black leather furniture and dark wood grain make the house look cluttered and somber. The tv area is cluttered with “livable space” but is far too claustrophobic and should be reserved as a foyer and limited to dumping coats and keys. You couldn’t pay me to live there. The only saving grace is the high ceilings but even that juxtaposed to the narrow end of the house make it incongruent with no real redeeming value.
