- This week's Saturday Spotlight features the AMT 1972 Chevrolet pickup. I built this in 2021 as a replica of my 1:1 truck. Enjoy

I used to build model cars and trucks way back in the early 1960’s and you’ve done a great job sir. We had a much much larger selection of spare parts like tires and wheels that were all interchangeable back then. I used to really enjoy it when my hands didn’t shake so much.
Thank you very kindly!
That's so awesome. Making replicas of what you actually have or had is such a great idea
What a great build. I used the same reissue to build my sorely missed green & white ‘72 C10.
That’s the one vehicle I’d really appreciate still having. But they’re really expensive now.
Very nice build. Great tip on how to get the bed where it needs to be. Thanks for sharing.
Eric great build and it brings back memories for me I've owned several of the 67 threw 72 chevy trucks when I was younger ❤
Some of the best looking Chevy/GMC trucks ever built
Very cool it always nice to have the reference in person.
Nice build. You hardly ever see anyone do a stripper. There is no telling how many 1:1 trucks like this I either drove or rode in over the years.
Really nice build! I love that color. The engine detailing is really good.
You did a great job on the engine bay. I specially like the wiring.
Thank you very kindly!
Love it! Great build and lots of fun to build replicas!
Thanks, Paul! Now if only i could get my 1:1 looking like that, LOL😂
@@ericsmodelgarage Right! Going through that with my 1963 Riviera currently!
Very nice. Love the color and the detail you did to the engine. Great job on kitbashing.
Thanks!
Nice job on the truck! I recently built the same kit, but did the two-tone red/white/red body with white top. Had some troubles, and also with the chrome. If I do another, I'll do like you and shave the trim off and paint it all one color.
They also have the same kit as the "Racer's Wedge" race car transporter, which includes the extension with second rear axle and wedge carrier bed, but it still contains the full pickup bed too.
I have 2 of the racers wedge kits. Plan on getting a resin short bed and build a little hot rod truck out of one of them. Your red and white one sounds nice. Thanks for watching
Nice build I have a 69 swb owned since '86 going to shorten the bed and chassis on the lwb to make a replica of the 1:1 Chevy trucks and models best ever!!
Right on! Thanks for watching👍
Nice long bed C10 Eric, love that orange straight six.👍
Thanks, David!
Awesome results Eric!!! The 6 banger is a nice touch. Very clean and details really pop🔥🔥
Thanks!
Awesome build Eric. Great job 👍😎
Thank you!
This such a cool truck. Good job on the build.
Thank you, Sir!
Great build...
Awesome job
@@FlashBackModelWerx Thank you!
Great details!! Great job!!
Thank ya brother!
Nice, clean build, Eric. I like your real truck, too.
I picked up your Turbine Car today, so I’ll try to get it boxed up and sent. Who knows? You might see it by the new year!
Lol! Thank you, David, very much appreciated!
Really nice.
Awesome truck Eric!! Love the 6yl engine!
Thanks, Manny, it was a fun project
Your welcome!!@@ericsmodelgarage
New to your channel, Eric, but I'm really enjoying your builds. I'm big into the have fun aspect of building and subscribe to "close enough is good enough". What you did with this one is really nice and that was the last good truck style from GM. I remember how surprised we were when all the new 73 models came out with the 5mph safety features. Looks took a terrible hit that year! LOL
Thanks for climbing aboard! It's definitely about having fun. Thanks for watching!
Pickup looks awesome Eric. Ron
Thank you, Ron
New subscriber via Larry’s shoutout. Nice video! Nice work on this truck. I Love the rallies. They look great on there. And the painted steel bumpers. I love a plain pickup with a 250. That’s awesome. Great job!
Thank you! I've always liked the toned down pickups myself. This was a fun build. Thanks for watching!
@@ericsmodelgarage looks like it was a fun one! No problem!
That kit is actually a 71!
The interior is a 71!
The 72 had a bench seat I should know because I had a 72 but nice build!
Thanks for watching. Although they don't show well in the video, the door panels in the interior are definitely 1972 specific. Out of the '67 - '72 trucks, the '72's were the only ones with the integrated arm rests on the door panels, which is what the kit depicts. The bucket seats/console were an option in the '72 trucks( largely seen in the Cheyenne Super trim) . This is the info I've gathered since buying my 1:1 truck
Hey-dar: 👊😎👍 I had a 1to1 70 short bed stepper. I'm looking for the 70 GMC stepper kit to do one up like mine. Nice gob, looks great. Watch ya later (MODEL CAR😎MAN CAVE)
Hey-dar: 👊😎👍 crap, I forgot to comment, that must have been fun to remove all that deluxe trim on the body? Nice pointer. Watch ya later (MODEL CAR😎MAN CAVE)
Removing the trim was a bit of a chore. Time consuming. Pointer compliments of Red's scale scrapyard. Thanks for watching!
