Thank you for a great video. I have a challenge on hand I would appreciate your assistance. In resetting the the contactor from the overload state, must the machine be connected to mains power while the reset button is pressed and then the ON button pressed? I am terrified of making a mistake and destroying the machine. Many thanks in advance and once again for the training.
while machine still off reset the overload button... but before re start investigate why tripped overload, suggest off breaker, check shaft rotate freely, conduct motor indulation test. if all ok. turn on
Yes if coil voltage rating the same as your supply voltage... Example. This one 220v coil and 220v supply.. Push button and emo is for on/off control.. Wire Passing through N.O contact make a latch hold to the coil.
For newbie you can get old or used unit contactor,, try to play it on the table,, know it personally... Understand how it works before you install..... You study circuit drawing then see it actual.. Easy on drawing but see actual connection.
This sample overload relay has 13ampere capacity only... There are bigger size suitable to 60A... Single or 3phase suitable to contactor... Contactor used when current higher than ordinary relay capacity... Contactor work like relay but relay ideal use below 1A.
Overload relay numbers 6, 8, 9, 11 are Ampere increment,, selection option... V is voltage,, coil voltage is magnetic coil voltage rating, important to match to your voltage control application,,
Schneider has a really poor wiring diagram, unless you did 1 or 2 before they're really hars to understand for a newbie, I'm guessing as always is poor translation from one language to another
For beginner use ohmmeter tester then test contacts and continuity while on the table before you install,, so that you verify normally close or open contact and if good coil condition.. Easy to install once you did it.
Nice video.....Some relay auto/manual selection video please....

if load is vfd or electronic, do not includr insulation test of this electronic parts, it might damage.
during run check current value passing through overload by clamp meter -Ampere test
real current reading versus overload setting and motor nameplate. you will know why
You can direct the L1 and L2 to the Coil? I have Contactor m7

Is that magnetic contactor and overload relay is applicable or suitable with 10hm 60A single phase motor? Thanks

hey can i ask a question?
mine has 6.8,9,11 and V....what V means?
