    Great video thanks. I'm in NZ looking at bike racks for my tribe of trouble makers. So it was good to see it fits all bike sizes. You should get dad of the year award (patience of a Saint with your kids). 😁

      Glad it was helpful. It’s not always easy to get relatable information from the manufacturer’s website. Best of luck.

    this was really useful. I have a similar collection of bikes in my household

    Thanks for the video! We bought one based on your authentic review (kids included, loved it). Quick question, did you have to buy any adaptors to fit bikes? We are in similar situation, vast size differences from 16" to 29".

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked it. I haven’t bought any adapters but I have oriented the smaller bikes so the hook goes over the seat instead of the frame. Good luck.

      @@ChasingtheTwist perfect, I ended up doing the same. The hook pushes down on the 15" BMX seat like you said. Thanks again for the review, especially the part around organising the wheel spacings.

    Thanks for the video! I just ordered a Yakima FourTimer and hopefully your video will save me some time with the installation. Do you have any updated on the FourTimer?

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still really like it. It fits all the various sizes of bikes I’ve thrown at it. It is a bit heavy and slightly awkward to store when not on the vehicle. Thanks for watching.

      @@ChasingtheTwist Wow! That was a quick response! How do you lock the bikes when you use the rack? Do you use the Yakima cable lock? Also, did Yakima help you with the screw/pin at the end of your video?

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use a Master Lock cable amzn.to/2LGh7Hw and a combination lock to lock the bikes. It’s 15’ long so I can go through the wheels and frames of all four bikes.
      I think Yakima offered to send me a replacement plastic part, I don’t really remember since I had already secured it with a bolt and nut made out of steel rather than chintzy plastic. Good luck.

    Can open the backdoors of your van when the bikes are loaded? Can you angle the rack down on a 45 degreen slant to open the back doors?

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bike rack does not angle down. I am using a Rak Attach swing out hitch to move the bikes out of the way if I want to fully open my rear doors. Best of luck.

    Was looking for the second video for this one after you have used it. I have read it’s a pain to use it, not sure how true that is but would like to hear from you since you have used it. Also saw another video about the 1up USA swivel on your channel. Did you swamp this out for the 1Up bike tray rack?

    • @PrithwirajGhoshRoy
      @PrithwirajGhoshRoy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @PrithwirajGhoshRoy
    @PrithwirajGhoshRoy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you think I can use the 4timer as a 2timer to begin with? At present we only use 2 full size bikes the kids bikes are big enough for the rack. Was wondering if that would work.

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All innuendo jokes aside, yes. I’ve done the same when my wife and I go somewhere, now that’s a rare occasion these days.
      The construction is really two + two and the outside “two” is easily removable.
      Best of luck.

    How'd you reckon if I put 2 road bikes and 2 Tribikes on them? Will there be enough space and won't be scratching each other?
    That's the problem with my current Buzz Rack. The bikes are hitting each other and has scratched some parts of the bike 😔

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they would fit just fine. It is constructed like a 2+2 carrier and I’ve had two road bikes and two kids bikes on it just fine. It also fits my wife’s cruiser. I think four bikes of almost any size would fit. You may run into issue if you had super wide downhill mountain bike bars or something but you would just need to alternate directions in that case.

    Is it sturdy during travel. Is there a lot if motion when driving?

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have found it to be sturdy, especially using the included stabilization straps. I would buy it again. Best of luck.

    Thanks for the walk through. I currently have a Thule euro
    G2 3 bike rack (tow-ball), but now my new car has a hitch, this seems like a really good solution... In Australia, its illegal to obfuscate the number plate, so I will need to rig something up (unless YAKIMA have a solution)... anyway, cheers

      You could drill through the rack but you would need to use a hinged set up or have two sets of holes so that it was visible in either position.

  • @MeesterH

    How is it when you're driving? It looked wobbly side to side.

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wobbles a bit but I have improved how I use the stabilizing straps since the video. We haven't done any serious off-roading with it but it has done well on dirt roads and hours and hours of highway.

    Does it tilt down with the bikes loaded so I can access the trunk?

    • @ChasingtheTwist

    How do u get the initial screw to stay in. There is no thread

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t recall having any problems with the bolts and nuts. I also don’t recall if there are bolts of different lengths. If there are, confirm you have the correct bolt. Best of luck.

    • @Kilian315
      @Kilian315 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChasingtheTwist it’s the first bolt that connects the hitch. There is no thread to make it tight .

    • @ChasingtheTwist
      @ChasingtheTwist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I just measured the hitch bolt that goes into a nut on the inside of the rack square tube. Hopefully we are talking about the same thing. The bolt that came with mine is 4 3/4” long with the threaded section being 1 1/2”. There is a nut on the inside held in place by a bit of plastic which has an indexing tab/pin so it doesn’t move. If your bolt makes it all the way through your hitch yet the threads don’t engage maybe the internal nut is out of place?
      Best of luck.
