(had 1 opportunity at an auction and missed it) in the 10 years till I got it.
About the sideart not sticking - the key is your paint, is it water- or oil based. Sideart´s mostly stick only on oil based paint. I have learned it the hard way with my DK Jr sideart ( the sideart lifts off around all edges ). For my popeye resto, I have used oil based paint and the sideart still sticks perfectly. And thx for the video, finally I understand how to play Pengo :D .
Hi, I just found your video. A tip when you redo your side art, make sure you use oil based paint. For some reason some side-art adhesives won’t stick to latex. It’s like a chemical reaction won’t let it dry right.

@@DragonHeartHisMajestyX hah thanks this is one of my favorite all time games, so I have alot of practice. it really is IMHO one of the greatest "Balanced" games of all time. I absolutely love it. (now I want to go play it right now ;)
i remember the time i used to play this game. it was great game but i dont know why after u go trough all levels game start all over again with faster opponents...but my pengo was slow as it used to be. this is unfair. it is al about the money because to continue u should pay another coin ~~ greedy bastarrds !!!
Great walkthru on Pengo. Thank you. Have loved the game since it was in the arcades in the early eighties. Built my mame arcade cabinet with this game as the primary target. Now I've got a highscore to chase: 147900! Impressive work there!
if you mean the monitor bezel, I "think" I bought it from thisoldgame.com but I don't honestly remember as I"m old and forgetful and it's been a few years since I restored this one.
Not a fan. It's cute of course, but way too difficult, even in the first couple of levels. There's a reason you don't see Pengo machines in retro arcades - it sucks.

I agree. I loved playing this as a kid. Underrated game.

My favorite game is also a Sega game from the 80’s, but it’s not this one. For me the “best arcade video game” award goes to Space Harrier.
