Imagine removing the sticker eyes of the 2 ghosts of this board game and then applying some glow-in-the-dark paint on the plastic bodies before sticking back the eyes with some glue. After doing all that, you'll now have 2 glow-in-the-dark ghosts.
Great review as usual. I had this game as a kid, and it was pretty good. However, once your Pac-Man had about four balls inside, it sometimes got tricky to pick up more - further balls would keep popping back out. Also, if someone accidentally nudged the board, all hell would break loose, when half the balls would become dislodged and roll all over the place!
Your best review to date Mark, can tell you put extra effort in with this, love the stop motion and the 80s graphics. Never owned this game myself but my cousin had it, he left at my nan's so me and my brother would play it when we got bundled off to hers during the 6 weeks holidays. Been meaning to get a copy of this again too...this review is pushing me further to get it ;)
Thanks Luke. This is the only one of the MB aracade games that I own (used to have Donkey King a few years back but no longer), but researching the others, it looks like some of them might be worth a purchase.
To answer the question asked, Pac Man is a smiloid, one of those smiley faces from the seventies, as well as most emoji. The term "smiloid" is taken from a game called "Faceball 2000" for the Super NES; it, and Berzerk, seems to give off Pac Man vibes. If you think about it, it's true; Evil Otto is an evil Pac Man, the robots are clumsy ghosts, the rooms of planet Automazeon are electrified Pac Man mazes, etc. You can esp. see it in the arcade version, or "Berzerk: Voice Enhanced" for the Atari 2600.
Yea bro, u dont need to emulate all the exact arcade game to a board game, u need to make a similar game with changes that make it fit as a board game to play with friends and family.
I thought them rather fitting! :D They're a newly produced pair which are the same sculpt as the ones given away by Pizza Hut in 1989 to promote Back To The Future 2 - but in lime and pink instead of the orange and yellow of the Pizza Hut shades (some of the background characters are seen wearing them in the Cafe 80's segment of the film).
@@AtticRaidersRetroReviews _Aaaaahhh!_ N‑n‐n‐n‐nice historical sidebar-sidebar! I do feel remiss in not acknowledging the totally rad T‑shirt-this was an episode in which there was definitely a lot to pack, man!

Yeah, the balls rolling across the board is a constant source of frustration with this one!

I played Pac-Man the board game at school many years ago. Wish I had the board game.
It's pretty fun and easily available on eBay. :)
Great Review! I just found this game yesterday.
Nice. Thrift shop find or attic raid?!
@@AtticRaidersRetroReviews Thrift Shop find for Two Dollar. And it came with Blue Ghosts
Solid Review! Love the stop motion! Have had my eye on this one, but others just keep bumping it back haha
I was thinking the SAME thing! Good review Mark!
I wish there was a Mappy boardgame.

Thanks - that's definietly something to think about when I come to reviewing the Berzerk board game! 🙂
This was better than the new version.
I'm still to play the new version.

Great stop motion, great synching with the audio, great chroma‐key backgrounds-but the best special effect is those sunglasses!!

I'm not Norwegian, no, I'm from Scotland. I have Shark Attack and will be doing a video about it in the future. :)
