You are becoming as much a therapist for my experience in training as an educator. Thank you.

I love the journaling idea. I think it helps to prevent only focusing on the negative, especially. That’s something I’m struggling pretty heavily with, and feeling like I’m failing. But I’m missing what she IS learning and her cute moments.

SO helpful ... I have done tons of recall training but have been making excuses for not going to any high distraction places!!! "Avoidance leads to belief that the triggers are gone!" " My dog doesn't deserve that!" Thank you, thank you, thank you! This changes TODAY!

Thank you for this. Listening to it, I realise that I use a lot of verbal crutches with my dog without intending to, even just things like saying a cheerful 'ah' when she breaks a sit. If I don't say 'ah' if she breaks, she doesn't go back to her sit. If i do, she does, so my attempts to help her are actually teaching her completely different behaviour.
I am also not journalling anywhere near enough. I struggle a lot with this one, and that's all on me to find a solution. I owe it to my superstar dog!
Our frustration is with her fear of children and desire to control their movement. I've listened to all the podcasts you have on this one around This! and how she was afraid of other dogs, men and children. Trying to work on this, but I am still very much in the management stage. I cant imagine a future right now where my dog will ever be off lead around kids. But i would love for her to be able to coexist calmly with them nearby.

LOL That is the funniest thing I ever heard. 2:27 Priceless. Thanks for the laughter. 😂 We just got a foster dog... she snarls and snaps when paws are touched. So what do I do,.... I am attempting (day two) to desensitise her to a reward when she puts her paw into my hand. we shall see.

I am grateful for this clip and very grateful for Epsilon.
Learning to turn my frustration at my cue sharing not being clear or fully proofed for Eps (who always trys her best) into gratitude for in need of focus areas may take some time to build.

Thank you, Susan! This has been a great reminder for me! I had been getting a bit complacent and making excuses for our challenges, which are barking and jumping on guests. There are so many positives and so much progress in our training. Many of these were also challenges at one time and we worked through them. Back on track and remembering to focus on the successes and patiently working through these challenges with consistency and journaling. I am proud of how far we have come and we will continue to work on these issues. Merry Christmas, Susan and Team! ❤

Thank you for sharing your traing tips; however I have 2 male boxer puppies. 1 is 3.5 months and the other is 4.5 months old. They are inseparable so training is such a challenge in the house with 2 adorable Boxer pups so smart, full of curiosity, energy and no listening behaviors when playing. I haven't found any tuturials for multiple pups.

We have been ignoring him, knowing he is pottied, has fone his games andis fed. But at nite when we are watching tv, he will stair and whine at us. Any sugestions? Are ther any of your videos to helpus with this challenge. thanks for all the information in this video.

Our 3 y/o doberman, Molly, very reactive on leash. Does good in backyard, even off leash, as soon as we walk around neighborhood, she gets reactive.Barks, sometimes lunges at other dogs, people. If someone is walking behind us, even at a distance, she constantly turns around to watch them. I do get very frustrated, angry, which I know doesn't help.😢 Usually end the walk then, head home. We need help.

When you talk about things like this, I sort of assume we’re not talking about puppies since we’re still working with them, right? I get a little confused about when something is a problem developing or just something we haven’t gotten fully trained yet.

Okay the challenge I am currently facing is not a training one but it is the biggest one yet. My dog became suddenly very picky about food. I have brought him to the vet multiple times and they cannot find anything wrong with him. I don't free feed, I don't overfeed and I feed raw (you'd think thay would be a high value food and it was). Suddenly he decided he doesn't want to eat ground meat anymore but recently he doesn't want to eat certain chunks either. He can easily go 2-3 days fasting. He is drinking and playing and not displaying any signs of discomfort. Any suggestions?
