Pulling back is something we all struggle with. I like to imagine the movement is already happening, it's just that you've paused the video, and when you hit play, it just goes forward.
It's amazing how natural it seems for us to want to pull back when in reality we are cheating ourselves from power. I got lucky early in my training when a high level black sash corrected me saying I was going back in my technique. I fixed it in the one but will still pull back in other techniques like I'm still a white belt.
Thanks for sharing that. And yeah we all do it even though we know its not optimal and efficient. It especially happens in live sparring and more dynamic scenarios in training. But as they say, practice makes perfect so we just gotta keep at it...
@@MindfulWingChun the best advice I have always found for this is yours from the elbow demonstration. I'm simply moving from here to here just like I was moving through the air. The strike is simply the other person getting in the way. Simple and effective words.
Very Interesting on using spine power in shoulder strikes. Haven't seen it done in a short rang, rugby people use it alot but from a range where they can get momentum. Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic to see how well your sensitivity is evolving. Feeling the levels of tension in your students and training partners is a true indication of how far you are travelling along this never ending path. Loving it Nima 👍🏻🙏. Looking forward to seeing you transfer you chi using your eyes , in the years ahead.
Yes Mathew. Actually if we practice the forms correctly we are able to understand how to use the body in a way to be able to produce power effectively using our center of mass. I that way we can apply power to any technique. This 'cultivating a state/ engine' is the way we look at the empty hand forms in the CST method of Wing Chun 🙏
Dear Sifu Nima, I can't thank you enough for sharing the knowledge of wing chun to all of us. I'm from Brisbane, Australia and I'm looking to find and buy Sigung CST wing Chun books. Can you kindly let me know how and where to get them from?
Hi Louis, It's my pleasure to share, especially with people who appreciate it and are going ro put it to practice. You can email tom@mindfulwingchun.com.hk to order the books to be shipped from Hong Kong 👍
hahaha! Man I was so worried that I had hit your solar plexus. Luckily noone was badly harmed in the making of this video ey?! And Happy Birthday dude! Hope you have a great one and very much looking forward to seeing you and the crew again once travel gets to normality here in Hong Kong. Have a awesome one mate!!
Yes the power comes through gloves. It's a penetrative rather than a pushing type of force. That's why in punching we demonstrate how the force is felt inside through a pad held by someone.
Cheers, it was. Such a lovely bunch of people to such with... Hope your training is on track mate and looking forward to catching up when I'm back down there (hopefully soon)

Hey Nima that’s an awesome birthday gift: a video of you shoulder striking me hahahaha

That would come in use in boxing 🥊 Nima, would the power source you use from your spine still work when you throw punches with gloves on?

Great explanation and video. Thank you for sharing
Cheers man. Glad you liked it.
That was a great night!
