If you love movies, it's impossible not to appreciate Cinema Paradiso, Giuseppe Tornatore's heartwarming, nostalgic look at one man's love affair with film, and the story of a very special friendship.

*Alfredo* : _"Living here day by day, you think it's the center of the world. You believe nothing will ever change. Then you leave: a year, two years. When you come back, everything's changed. The thread's broken. What you came to find isn't there. What was yours is gone. You have to go away for a long time... many years... before you can come back and find your people. The land where you were born."_
Thank you for this one. Beautiful film.

My dad’s favourite film - we had the Love Theme at his funeral 10 years ago. And I always come back to it from time to time; as the years go on and I start to grasp the truths of life more myself, and youth becomes adulthood, Cinema Paradiso means more and more.
A beautiful film in every way - thanks for the video!

I come to watch this everyday, literally, I’m only 18, but my heart and soul feel like they belong to those times, when love was so strong that not only you could feel it that well, but it was so strong you could almost touch it, a masterpiece, there isn’t a word big enough to describe the art and the music of this film, anytime I feel nostalgic and I see the world I love in, I watch this, this is my world, my country, my Sicily, my love😔🥲

Cinema Paradiso is the kind of motion picture that can brighten up a gloomy day and bring a smile to the lips of the most taciturn individual. Light and romantic, this fantasy is tinged with just enough realism to make us believe in its magic, even as we are enraptured by its spell.

This film is a masterpiece. It is dramatic, comedic, & nostalgic! It's the whole package - coming-of-age, love, war, friendship, sex, religion, tradition, loss, everything! This film is the greatest tribute to cinema from a bygone era. And the film soundtrack by Morricone, magnficent! Reminds me so much of our small town in the Philippines where I grew up in the 70s & 80s. Coming back after many many years, the place is so much different.

The most precious movie in my whole collection! This tender and moving film, a masterpiece by Giuseppe Tornatore, with the amazing music by Ennio Morricone, who will live forever, because of his exceptional work in countless movies, really touches one’s heart and makes one cry, especially at the end scene, where Salvatore (Toto), is watching touched with emotion, the best present his old friend Alfredo, would be able to offer him. Toto didn’t have his father because of the war, but the presence of Alfredo so close to him, was the perfect substitute. Alfredo, who didn’t have any children of his own, was not educated or rich, but he was very kind and ready to offer Toto all his support, in many different ways, as the boy was growing up. Their friendship was very strong, so Alfredo succeeded to persuade Toto to leave Sicily and go to Rome, where Toto became very successful finally.

I recently watched this movie for the first time, it left me devastated, in a good way, which i didn't expect at all. It's a new favorite, a forever favorite 💖

I 'overwatched' this movie for years. I would watch it 2-3 times per year. Then, we re-arranged our home situation and the DVD players (or basically my PS3) went a small TV in the bedroom...rarely used.
Tonight, I hooked up the PS3 to the main TV and watched it again.
I am sorry I strayed. What a tragedy to not watch this movie and 'It's a Wonderful Life' at least once per year.
