    A great time to be a teenager, when men and women loved each other, unlike today, so much hate, the world today is sooo depressing.

    Sir Barry is now bald in the front, with a bit of a stomach. He still looks good. His voice is very mellow. He is 76 years old. He is called Sir Barry because in 2007 (I believe) he and Robin received their knighthood from Prince Charles (now King Charles) for their contributions to the music industry. Adam, Maurice's son, accepted the award in his behalf, as he passed away 2003. .

    • @BGWhisperer
      @BGWhisperer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not bald, just thinning, like every 77 year old. And I’m sure any bit of stomach is because he deals with extensive arthritis and has since his 40s. It probably makes it hard for him to move around a lot and exercise. He was always a slender, lanky, fit man. He’s still not bad, considering.

    I went to their last concert in Australia at Olympic Stadium Sydney in 1999, their One Night Only Tour. Omg it was incredible. They had us dancing in the aisles to You Should be Dancing, Grease, Night Fever. Then cheering went to silence when they sang ballads. They didn't disappoint anyone from any age group. Who would've known that Maurice would die just 4yrs later. Andy the youngest brother died young in 1988. Then Maurice in 2003 and Robin in 2012. Barry the oldest never accepted that all his younger brother's had passed on before him and in such tragic circumstances all of them.
    They were great songwriters and had a unique sound... and boy could Barry hit those high notes. Many a girl had a crush on him ...the 70's long brown/ blonde hair and ummm very tight white trousers 🤭 not that I noticed..... ok guilty 🥵 😂 but I wasn't alone !!!!
    They loved Australia and Australia loved them ❤

    Thanks for your reaction! The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: th-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/w-d-xo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you th-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/w-d-xo.html.

      @@Texas_Love - Robin was also involved in tragedy. At 17 he was a passenger in the Hither Green train wreck in the UK and had to pull out mangled live and dead victims impaled by rails and had to watch on the spot amputations to free people. He suffered PTSD for life. One rail missed decapitating him by inches. Fifty died on the spot. He was hit by a van while on his bike as a kid. Almost drowned as a toddler. His chalet was buried by an avalanche when on his honeymoon. He wrecked a boat and had to swim across Biscayne Bay to shore.
      The reason they left the UK for Australia was Barry was on parole for car theft at 11 and Robin threatened with reform school as an arsonist at @8. The Manchester police suggested Australia would be a lovely place for them to go, LOL.

However, when Robin left the group for about 18 months, (March 1969) she stepped in for him. She and her husband are professional dog breeders. (Maurice passed away on Lesley's 58th birthday. 😢)

    Well I tell ya buddy, I lived it. I was there during the 60's and 70's. Fond memories, great music, beautiful women, fun party's. It was a great time to be alive. I remember this song while sitting in the back seat of my 1965 Chevy Nova with my girlfriend. I'll leave it at that........😉

    The Bee Gees started performing professionally in the early 1960's. Their father was a drummer who had a band that played in clubs. Their mother was a dance hall singer. The boy's first "performance" was when they played off the back of a pickup truck at the Sidney, Australia Speedway. They performed and people threw them coins. The music producer Bill Gates saw them at the speedway and signed on as the manager for the boys. There are recordings of them performing going back to about 1960. Eventually their father became their manager, and the boys supported their family of 7 (mother, father, sister, & 4 boys). The family moved back to the UK when the 3 boys were in their mid-late teens. The rest is history.
    With literally hundreds of great songs to pick from, it's hard to pick just a few.

    Check out “Too Love Somebody”. It’s one of the early songs. Also “How do you mend a broken heart”. You will really like them.
