Really enjoyed this video, and your painting was gorgeous! I appreciate that you listed your supplies, as I need a pochade type box, this one looks wonderful. Thanks so much!

LOVED how abstract this one turned out. Lots of beautiful texture and a great sense of light. The composition is great too. You should think about making it into a larger piece. Keep up the great work Emma!

I just found your channel when searching for videos about the U.go medium pochade box, which I just ordered. I know this is a pretty old video, but I wanted to ask how you liked using this on your lap. I know it’s not really designed for that and I have not seen anyone else using it that way or talking about doing so. But, “lap mode” is one of the reasons I bought this - specifically “car lap mode,” but also just sitting outside. (I do plan to use it on my tripod, too, but wanted something small and simple I could just grab and go.) Did you have trouble getting it to stay upright? Is the palette the acrylic one, or the glass one? I’m hoping if I get the glass palette it will add some more weight to the bottom of the box so it will be less likely to tip backwards. Any advice? It is just about exactly the size of my iPad Pro and I am thinking of fashioning some sort of “easel” back for it like my iPad keyboard cover, so it wouldn’t tip back, but given that I do not yet have it in my possession I don’t know what that would be like. Other pochades I have used are heavy and have storage space so they will not just fall backwards.

Hey! Thanks for your comment! I’m trying to remember how I liked using the palette on my lap as it’s been a long time since I’ve used it that way, but I can’t remember being particularly annoyed at how it functions. I use the glass palette which definitely adds a good bit of weight to the bottom, as well as the side brush tray, but I think I do recall having to hold it up with my left hand periodically while painting with my right. It’s funny you mention it being about the size of your iPad, I’ve had numerous people come up to me while I’m out plein air painting thinking that I’m painting on an iPad 😆

So where did the plastic chair appear from? You weren't carrying it, yet suddenly you were sitting on it in the middle of the woodland.

Haha! Yes, one of my neighbors leaves it in the field and I had to grab it to sit on because I forgot my tripod mount.

Very nice painting: thank you for filming and posting in TH-cam. Could you consider a full-length painting film? I know it is difficult, my videos are studio painting and it is cumbersome to do the set up: I can imagine doing it in plein air. Loli

Boy, that would be an undertaking! It would be really fun though, thankfully my husband takes on the task of filming all of these videos which is a huge help.
