    I'm a guy and I really love this whole Reylo thing. I totally see it. It is all about knowing social dynamics. Most people don't know social dynamics/ body language... #KnowledgeIsPower #PositiveVibesOnly Keep up the hard work! #HatersGonnaHate Bullies are truly weak individuals.

      Lee Green I’m feeling it. Men get lost in emotion, and exact it upon the world. Kylo is a great representation of this. But then a strong willed woman, who understands it because she has been tempted by it also, but has her head on strong enough to say enough is enough.
      Why do the men always have to be the heroes? Why can’t a woman step in, and pull the man from the darkness that surrounds him.
      I love their relationship. And I feel that the redemption arc for Ben will be the best part of this trilogy n

    I’m not even part of the Star Wars fandom but my friend ships Reylo. She told me antis say if you support Reylo, you are supporting an abusive relationship. That doesn’t make sense to me at all. Rey and Kylo don’t have any sort of relationship from what I understand. They are enemies. Enemies are supposed to fight each other and hurt each other. If they start dating or become friends and still hurting each other than it’s a abusive relationship. Sorry if I got anything wrong but I get all the info from my friend and I take her word for it.

    When I first watched tfa opening night, I fell in love with the character Rey. And seeing as Luke skywalker was my idol, I went into it reading every little detail in correlation to him. So I assumed like most Rey had to be a skywalker because of how amazing and powerful she was. I became aware of the shipping of rey x kylo and didn't think much of it, until months later when I watched it on dvd in an unbiased viewing. I could suddenly see everything reylos see. I don't ship anything in Star Wars at all because most of the pairings like Han/Leia padme/anakin were presented to me as a child when I didn't know what "shipping" was. So though I never officially shipped Reylo, I always believed it had the possibility of being canon as long as they weren't cousins. I've kept up with the Reylo community causally and was slowly convinced Rey could not be a skywalker. Everything y'all have been saying from the beginning is being proven more true by the day and I'm so happy for it. I have not part taken in the Reylo community but the hate you guys get is the stupidest thing that has ever happened and is going to leave haters dumbfounded this December when it becomes canon. Tina, Lee, Denise, the videos you guys have put together have convinced me to officially ship Reylo and advocate my public support of it because of the honest and genuine perspective y'all have put forward to reinforce and validate the knowledge found first by Reylo fans. The community you guys have been apart of the last year and a half is so admirable from an unbiased perspective like myself. I hope the reylos receive justice in December and I can't wait for the celebration. I hope this all made sense, I'm a bit confusing because it's hard for me to ship anything in Star Wars, but Reylo has my full support and I believe will be such a beautiful thing. You guys are so awesome and I'm a fan

    as someone who only discovered the Reylo community a couple weeks ago, I am so happy to find out that not only did others see what I did, but I am not crazy for thinking Reylo was a possibility. none of my die hard SW friends ever mentioned it, I didn't even feel comfortable bringing it up to my own boyfriend. I finally did after yet another viewing of TFA , and as I suspected, he didn't see it at all and didn't understand how I thought those scenes had sexual tension. after that conversation I went online to try and find out if there were others who understood me, and low and behold, an entire community! the best part was telling my boyfriend even Time magazine is quoted as noting the tension between the two characters. so I feel you ladies on not always feeling comfortable discussing Reylo around other SW fans. it is amazing how nasty some people get, and they try to personally attack you for noticing things set up in the film. I am so glad you ladies put this podcast out there, it feels great to know there are people who understand what I see too!

    Someone in a Reylo-themed video said that Kylo seemed a bit jealous of Finn's relationship with Rey. When he looked up from the catwalk on Starkiller Base (after Chewie had shot him) and saw Finn and Rey standing close together, he got pissed off. He sensed the connection between them, even though it was just friendship, and he took it the wrong way. That's why he was so vicious in his duel with Finn later in the snow.

    • @StarWarsConnectionPodcast
      @StarWarsConnectionPodcast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      We agree, we commented on that as well. Kylo actually punched Finn - first time a lightsaber duel featured a punch - like they were in a bar brawl over a girl. We speculate he threw the punch because he wanted to assert his manly man dominance lol

    • @daniellemusella1594
      @daniellemusella1594 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Though Kylo didn't actually say the words, I could still see them on his face as he stretched his arm back to throw the punch: "You son-of-a-(bleep)."

    • @Morgru
      @Morgru 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmm..the lightsaber duel featured more than a punch, there was the kick back in the original trilogy too...Where Luke kicked his dad during their final duel (even though it wasn't about fighting over one girl...).

  • @KritikEyesreviews

    This is frustrating, I can't believe people would judge and criticise you for something that was very clearly established/strongly hinted at in the film. There was clear sensual/sexual chemistry between the two, an odd and confusing attraction if you will.
    Opposites attract, you don't chose who you will fall in love with, it just happens. This could bring very interesting, provocative and intense story telling, imagine the guilt she must feel for liking/having the hots for a dark side user?
    It's complex, weird and intense...ladies and gentlemen, that's what love is all about.
    Things are never black and white and we all know that Disney is trying to move away from the black and white vison of the original trilogy, just watch The Last Jedi teaser. We are not dealing in absolutes anymore, we will delve in the Grey side of the force and possibly as a parallel: the strange nuances in relationships.
    Although I doubt Disney will go the whole way, I would applaud them for being so courageous and brave with this, showing that much ambiguity and layers in a relationship in such a massive and mainstream movie is a bold and risky move. If they are obvious about a Reylo relationship, it could potentially create an outrage (especially for uneducated parents). If we want this to happen, Kylo Ren will have to redeem himself big time.
    People calling this relationship "abusive" lack any sort of nuance or emotional maturity, they should really start living a little... relationships are sexy, odd, unpredictable, passionate....unfortunately they fear and don't understand it so they label it, it's sad and very narrow minded. Don't pay attention to them. You're all on to something and I completely support and encourage Reylo :) (and I am a guy) Make it happen Disney!

      Awesome comment! Thanks for the thoughtful feedback, Peter - we enjoy your work and your enthusiasm for all things SW, so it's great to see you pop up in our comments section. ^^
      We agree with your thoughts on what the exploration of the connection between Rey and Kylo would do for the Sequel Trilogy. It would be intense and exciting for sure (and sexy - did we mention sexy?), but also nuanced and transformative for the characters and the story itself. As you say, Kylo Ren's redemption is a key component for this pairing to succeed, and beyond that, for the story to succeed. At the end of the day Star Wars is a space fairy tale and the moral of the story is the importance of choosing goodness, and the importance of family, love, and forgiveness. No way Han and Leia's son will die evil and unredeemed, not with all the careful layering and thoughtfulness that went into crafting his character; Kylo Ren is like the Ferrari of Star Wars characters, the design and aesthetics are on point. No way that after all that he is going to be bogged down by a cliche "becoming Darth Vader 2.0" storyline.
      As for the harsh criticism some have for pro-Reylo fans, it's unfortunate that this kind of thing is happening in the Star Wars fandom. We are hoping that once we learn more about Kylo Ren's fall to the dark side and his redemption arc is set into motion, some of the skeptics will come around and open up a little to the awesome possibilities of a full blown Reylo romance in episode 9. At the very least they might live and let live. Fingers crossed! ^^

    The main difference between 50 Shades of Grey (and I would actually argue Twilight) and Reylo is the woman is in a relationship and not as a prisoner of war.
    1. Rey is not submitting to a sexual relationship in the *interrogation scene*; she does not equate being abused as something that arouses her. LOL! She takes crap from no one! She was a captured as a prisoner of war because she had information that First Order wanted to extract from her head! Seeing a woman tied up doesn't equate sexual fantasy. Context. If you are seeing that in that scene, that says more about you and this culture's obsession with 50 Shades than it does with what is actually going on in this scene.
    2. The only time Rey shows a flicker of attraction to Kylo is when he takes off his mask, and she checks him out. During the interrogation scene, she doesn't look him in the eye when he tries to get the information he needs and stares back at him in equality despite her bondage. Something Leia couldn't do with Jabba the Hut until she had the opportunity to kill him. She is resisting him and will not even submit to him putting his hand on her face. Not only that, but...
    3. She unmasks Kylo two times. She pinpoints his biggest fear in the first conversation with him where she actively communicates. This harkens back to Han Solo's warning to Finn: "Listen, Big Deal. You got another problem. Women always figure out the truth. Always"
    4. Kylo treats a woman who is as a prisoner of war and a scavenger with more respect and care than he shows the best pilot in the Resistance. And that speaks volumes. That says that Kylo is not the monster that people think he is and "there is still light in him, I know it." (quoted from the General, another powerful woman in this saga. And look at Han's face in response. He knows it is true. There is no arguement left.)
    Putting 1-4 together:. Someone said this (if you know who, please comment for I wish to give credit), the remaining theme of *Star Wars is one of redemption for the darkest of people.* Luke did that for his father.
    My conclusion: I think Rey can do that for Kylo w/ or w/o a love arch. (I hope it is love.) His dad can't, his uncle can't, his mother can't, but perhaps Rey can. *She is that red line of hope that is thicker than blood.*

    Whoot! You guys point out so many relevant things. I had no idea that the extended fandom was connecting Reylo to 50 Shades of Grey. That is not how I see Reylo, personally at all, and connecting the ship to that is just foolish. As you've said, Rey is very strong. I feel that Reylo isn't something that is outlandish or unfounded. It's the way the story is written and you've pointed out, in multiple videos, all the fantasy and trope elements that have been used in many other stories so... Reylo is definitely happening.

    Ummmm 33 year old dude - and I thought this was happening day 1. Is it not weird how this movie has a 92% positive rating yet there's still enough people to make some noise about either "Rey was abused" or "Kylo was a bitch" it's just proof you will never please everyone - the 50 shades comparison is so stupid

    Thanks again for this! I am going to miss you guys when this trilogy ends. When I found your podcasts I was thrilled. I thought, hey I am not crazy! I have learned so much thorough all the episodes. Thanks so much for taking the time to do all these. It is greatly appreciated! You guys throughly explained clues/hints/ theories that prove Reylo.
    I still feel discouraged at times when I see how LucasFilm/Media always keep Adam Driver under wraps. They never even include anything with Daisy/Adam Behind The Scenes! Just saw the VF spread/Interview and although is lovely and we get some great shots of all the cast and the new characters, for some reason no one ever seems to talk about the Kylo/Rey dynamic! So frustrating! I just hope it all leads up to the big Reylo reveal in TLJ! By December hopefully all of the community will finally feel vindicated.

    • @StarWarsConnectionPodcast
      @StarWarsConnectionPodcast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ana, thanks so much for the great feedback. We agree with your thoughts on the marketing of the TLJ; on the one hand it's a sign that it's important to the production to keep Kylo Ren's character arc mysterious, which means his arc will probably have a big twist, but it's frustrating that as fans we don't get to hear or see as much from his character as from others. Some of us were at Celebration this year and the lack of mention of Adam/Kylo Ren was a big disappointment. :(

    A lot of the anti-Reylo sentiment stemmed from people who loved the EU and couldn't let it go after it was dismissed first by George Lucas and then Disney. Even today people still bring the expanded universe into their arguments about why Reylo will never happen. Some commentators also believe that romance will ruin this part of the series(like Padme and Anakin's did to the prequels which I still don't get because you know Luke and Leia had to come from somewhere). I don't believe it will. In fact, it will make the story all that more powerful.

    • @lesliezin2627
      @lesliezin2627 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wow never saw it that way. I mean I am a big EU fan that loved Mara Jade, and yeah I hated when George Lucas and Disney dismissed it. It was really upsetting, but I was not going to be so petty as to drudge up reasons why Reylo could not be simply because of the EU. I am still holding out hope that Mara Jade will be brought into the canon to some degree, maybe in a flashback? OH! Maybe she is killed by Kylo or Snoke, something to acknowledge the character at least. Anyway just because I am a huge EU fan does not mean I am going to dismiss Reylo. The theory does make a lot of sense and has a lot of evidence to back it up. I guess I am just one of those rare types in that regard. As for the comments that the romance will ruin the movie... Han and Leia didn't. Granted I did find the chemistry lacking between Anakin and Padme. Maybe it was just me, but to me there was no sparks flying. It all seemed kind of forced. Did it ruin the prequels? No but Jar Jar did almost. The prequels were there to tell the story of how Anakin became Darth Vader, so it was expected. Kylo and Rey? There is definitely chemistry and sparks, so I don't see how the romance will ruin the film either.

    • @janicewymore3860
      @janicewymore3860 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey thanks for your input on this discussion and I'm glad you shared your viewpoints! I share your concerns about Padme and Anakin. I believe Obiwan and her had more chemistry lol. Pretty words doesn't make a love affair.

    • @janicewymore3860
      @janicewymore3860 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mara does sound wonderful and I for one wanted Luke to find someone. I never got into EU because I was satisfied with how ROTJ ended mostly. I never thought,the bratty space hero, would turn into a sullen old man. I bet he still wishes he did go to Tosche station and pick up some power converters! Or maybe he'll be able to in the next two movies with his nephew Matt.

    • @lesliezin2627
      @lesliezin2627 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is still so surprising to hear how Reylo and EU fans are reacting to each other. We must be a small minority here...LOL I mean now I am worried that if I run into other Star Wars fans. If I say I am an EU fan will that put off Reylo fans? Or if I say I am a Reylo fan will that put off EU fans? I don't want to scare off either side.
      As for Mara Jade, I agree with you Midnight. I do not want her to simply be there to explain how Rey could be a Skywalker. For one Rey being a Skywalker would so boringly predictable, and two Mara was more than that. She was the Emperor's Hand, an awesome fighter that carried out missions for the Emperor himself. No, in honesty; I am still rooting for Rey being a Kenobi, and if Mara is introduced I hope they do it in a flashback maybe.
      This is all speculation but if it were to be okayed maybe do a younger CG Luke and her. Maybe Luke is telling Rey how his Jedi academy fell. Maybe Mara goes down in combat like a boss. Maybe that is the other reason he walks away. There are other ways to keep Mara as she is meant to be without relegating her to being Rey's mom. In truth I do not want Mara to be Rey's mom because that adds to the over used Rey Skywalker theory. Oh just thought of another cool idea... Maybe Rey is a Kenobi (well the granddaughter to Obi-Wan) Maybe her parents didn't make it and so Mara brought Rey to the academy as a type of mother figure. Not blood related of course, but still it would be a cool way to bring in Mara and keep Rey out of the Skywalker line. Maybe Mara was the one to leave Rey on Jakku as a means of hiding her.
      There are a number of ways this could work that would make both Reylo and EU fans happy. Besides...I REALLY want Rey to be a Kenobi.

    Thanks for producing this. After first viewing TFA, it took me about 5 days to come to the realization that Reylo was most likely going to be canon, and it floored me and I absolutely loved it. One of the aspects of this direction that I really appreciate is that it kind of mirrors the worldview-shattering revelation at the end of ESB, whereupon RotJ somewhat unexpectedly becomes about the hero trying to soften and woo the villain (which boldly asked the audience to now sympathize with the person who was previously chief villain). Another aspect of this narrative that I appreciate is that it is original, compared to the "Father Figure and Son Figure" structure of the other two trilogies'

    • @StarWarsConnectionPodcast
      @StarWarsConnectionPodcast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael, thanks for sharing this well thought out comment. We agree fully with your observations. We've been keeping an eye on Lucasfilm's marketing approach and have found it almost comical that there has been nearly zero discussion of the dynamic between Rey and Kylo, in spite of the characters' positioning within the story. This points to their relationship, whatever it is, being one of the key twists in the upcoming installments of the sequel trilogy - much like, as you rightly say, the ultimate direction of the Darth Vader and Luke dynamic was a shock in the original trilogy. The hints heralding a future Rey and Kylo romance are in TFA, and putting all of this together, shipper goggles aside, "Reylo" must be a consideration when thinking objectively about possible future directions in the ST.

    • @michaelcapozzoli1206
      @michaelcapozzoli1206 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree that Lucasfilm's marketing is very telling, in that it is clearly so protective of Kylo's arc. Even given the merchandising imagery of Kylo that has been released, he looks like quite the regal, introspective prince. I also agree that, putting aside my own "shipper goggles," even TFA left ample clues. Particularly, for me, I came to this realization when considering how the lightsaber functioned as Cinderella's glass slipper: Rey leaves the lightsaber (slipper) behind at the castle, fleeing - then later, Kylo gives her the marry-me face when the lightsaber finds its way to her hands again. I believe the novelization and early script included Kylo breathlessly stating "It IS you!" at that moment (a moment of fateful recognition just as in Cinderella!). In any case, I'd like to thank you, again, for putting so much effort into these videos; I think that your team is very articulate, and these are my favorite SW fan discussions.

I think it's hard to ignore the evidence the Reylo community has compiled, and any comments and content from official sources only seem to validate us. I'm sure at this point Reylo will be canon, and in the way that most of us hope for. All the evidence points that way.

    Same thing happened to me at SWCO I was afraid to say anything about Reylo to certain people. This is so sad that we feel this way about something in fiction that is meant to be fun. I watched TFA 3 times because it's so much to take in at one time. The third showing I walked to my car, and my internal dialogue was "I wonder if those two are gonna be a thing." I went home and googled Rey and Kylo in love or something, and that's how I found it. I was not influenced by fanfiction. I actually never read fanfiction, had no idea what it was actually. That is until I started "shipping" Reylo.. and that's only because I joined Tumblr for the beautiful Reylo and Star Wars art.

    My viewings of TFA I never got this romantic vivbe between them till I stumbled on to this theory while watching Star Wars videos on TH-cam. Like when Ben knocks out Rey well thats because he used the force to do that, was my intial impression and they were enemies so on so forth. However, this has changed my perspective on TFA. If the romances, other the prequel trilogy the romance between Han and Leia wasn't the focus, at least in A new Hope. It was in fact subtle, even the sequels it really wasn't the focus-it was more about Luke and Vader then Han and Leia. That in mind The Last Jedi might have only two scenes (like Empire) that could soldify Reylo's relationship. Also, there was a Japanese poster stating, "the most shocking twist in Star Wars history!" Well Reylo would fit the bill in my opinion.

      Awesome comment, Andrew. It's good that you kept an open mind though you didn't see the Reylo on your first viewings. Romance doesn't have to be the main focus of a story, but it needs to be present in an epic story like SW. And bottom line is romance sells. The House of Mouse is not going to pass up the opportunity to make $$$, and based on what we saw in TFA Reylo is the most likely pairing by far.

    Hey Guys! Let me start off by saying that I love your channel, aside from Vincent Vendetta's Reylo Video I haven't encountered a series of videos that provided potent evidences that the Reylo fandom is not wrong, incestrous or derived from our abusive imagination, our fandom is once again being attacked on Tumblr due to a recently released Vanity Fair article about what will be in TLJ and what won't, I would love to hear your comments on that, also would LOVE the next video on your Reylo 101 series to be about evidence from the TLJ cast and crew that proves Reylo could be canon, such as Rian Johnson tweeting the Red String of Fate and John confirming that there is no romance between Finn and Rey and that the romance will be interesting.

Re: John Boyega's comments about FinnRey and Rian's tweets, we have discussed this before in other podcasts, but we haven't actually compiled the marketing/social media evidence supporting Reylo into one discussion - it's a good idea, thanks for the suggestion!

    Reylo is not the Stuff that interests me in Star Wars, but I don't like People who become aggressiv, because other People have a different opinion. I was raised by People who grown up in Nazi-Germany, they taught me that democracy is when People respect each other and more important they respect each others Mind and Opinion, raised in a dictatorship they were never saw such thing like liberty to say what you thing as a given right, as something normal.
    What makes me furios is, that Antis say: "We live in a free Country where everyone has the right to say what they think." But the Community acts differently, even if they are not against Reylo, they treat People who believe in it so bad. But thats the oppossit of democracy, excluding People who think differently , is like the Nazis act. It is very sad that our Society is not about real democracy but more like: "As long as your opinion is the same as mine, you can think what you want"
    And by the Way it is only a Movie, nothing really important.

    Even though I've openly talked about being Reylo with my friends (who DON'T see it happening LOL they think I'm a nutcase) and other people, I still feel self conscious about showing open, public support of Reylo. For example, I really want to wear a Reylo shirt for the TLJ opening, but I'm just far too scared to do it? I'm just afraid of it blowing up in my face (even though I'm 98% sure she isn't related to him) and then being so exposed LOL;;; I think what I'm going to do is wear purple & grey (Reylo colors ;) ) and underneath a sweater wear a Reylo shirt, and once it's confirmed she isn't a Skywalker I'm going to STRIP THAT SWEATER OFF AND PROUDLY SUPPORT REYLO WITH ALL MY MIGHT.

    I am a dude but I didn’t notice it.
    Because I watch Force Awakening with another friend also male.
    We were talking about how it was too similar to the 4th episode.
    I didn’t notice about the romance/sexual tension between them.
    I even wanted Rey to be Luke’s daughter.
    Well, until the Last Jedi, I was quick to want Rey and Ben to be together instead of siblings or cousins.
    When I was in the movie, I was this is a romantic connection. It is not a connection between siblings or cousins.
    After that I search up Rey and Ben as a pairing and I found lots of video approving the pairing.
    So happy that Rey isn’t Luke’s daughter now, because I jumped ship so quickly. XD

    The whole fanfiction argument stems from the idea that a theory have no basis in reality. Fanfiction kinda started to play with alternate scenarios etc. But the thing about Reylo is that right now there is a ton of stuff to back up that conclusion, everything we know about TLJ, it's marketing, behind the scenes stuff and can see presented in TFA is pointing that Kylo Ren is here for more than providing Rey with a lightsaber to duel against. I think that the Rey and Kylo thing at the end of the last trailer may be a misdirect composed from separate scenes but also a way to foreshadow this new relationship and to make it less of a shock when it hits.

    My Biggest Struggle, that I didn't even consider, and make me dislike Ren.. Was Indeed, The Death of Han, his own father, by his own hands..
    But, after understanding more and more of the entire situation, he's beginning to grow on me.. Especially the way he Oust and Tricked the just as cocky and arrogant conceited Snoke, like Palpatine, by mentally deceiving and convincing him, that he was going to kill Rey! Respect, for my favourite scene in TLJ!
    But, back to TFA.. Has everyone missed, that in the reuniting scene, between father and son, there was a storm trooper, overseeing that entire scene.. Han, most likely would have been killed anyway, had Ben returned!
    Ben, killing Snoke, whom enticed him to kill his father in the first place, due to manipulation and misconception for more power, in a way.. Was Avenging Han, as well!
    Even More Respect >:j
    The Struggle for Ren, Rey (Love) vs Vader (Ghost from the past of a Dark Legacy)
    Hux, should have a major part to play in all of this, in Ep 9.. Especially if the truth is revealed that Ren performed a Mutiny..
    Hux, who was complete control and utter power, who was the complete opposite, in not getting his hands dirty and conspiring with Phasma, to have his own father killed, for Power!
    At least Ren, struggled with the notion.

    I wouldn't say I ship Reylo, but I do think it is being set up in the movie. I feel like shopping has the connotation that you are making it up. For a long time I felt like I was being gross for thinking it would happen because that's what everyone says online, and if it happened first thing in the Last Jedi, then yeah it would be kinda gross. There's a whole lot of trilogy left though and I really believe this is where it is headed.

      Heres a thought to ponder, what if the new trilogy is set some years into the future with these new characters, but they are Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo, the children of Kylo and Rey, and we would find out Kylo and Rey went missing at the end of events that played out in this current era of the galaxy, where they fought to defeat the threat of Snoke and his evil First Order?
      Then later on at the end of that trilogy, these children go in search of Kylo and Rey, and it picks up on a much older Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley, in their late thirties and forties, reprising their roles.
      Imagine that, all you young fans (and myself a "youngish fan" lol), our children would then be going to see that trilogy and following those characters, and we would all have our reunion with Kylo, Rey, and Poe, Finn and Rose. Just as our parents right now are seeing the Legends Leia and Luke for last time.
      The cycle repeats, A Long Time Ago, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away......
      (Or maybe I thinking too much into all of this haha)

      Thats actually a really good point. For me personally it was actually to do with how Kylo kind of reminds me of myself, and Rey of the beautiful, pure and good young woman I once met and have loved for a good 16-17 yrs now.
      Not saying Ive killed anyone but I have made mistakes and been troubled by my demons. I really wanted to be with this person she is my light, but I never told her how I feel. I had these opportunities to tell her and make things work but I never took them, feeling I was not deserving of her.
      I still think about her to this day, infact whats got me through all these years was living in my own sad little world, obsessed with starwars, sci fi in general and video-games as my kind of distraction from the reality of my screw-ups and mistakes.
      Shes always been on my mind this girl, but I have left it way too late now, Ive only hoped that she is happy out there, somewhere with someone more deserving of her than myself.
      I kept telling myself for years I had done the right thing by never getting into a serious relationship with her, because I did not want to taint her in anyway. Then I used starwars and other sci fi movies to distract myself away from my past and the mistakes.
      Then suddenly this new era comes along and I start hearing about Reylo, and Kylo and how he is in darkness, and Rey the light, the goodness and was making me think alittle about my own situation, but I pushed her away (even though deep down I wanted to be with her, it was my own way of telling her to stay away as I am tainted), but Kylo didnt do this he was looking for her and even tried to kill her at first.
      I dont know how its going to play out, but now I would like Kylo and Rey to end up together, even though I know in my own reality, I can never be with this girl I met and fell in love with years ago.

    You know what? Ever since seeing RotS, I thought love got a bad rap. I can't tell you how many of the guys in my group would say that LOVE is what made him fall to the dark side, but that wasn't it at all! If Anakin had been honest with the other Jedi about his relationship with Padme then he wouldn't have had to worry so much about her dying, because SOMEONE would have been able to comfort him. It was hiding the relationship from them and the secrets that helped his fall to the dark side. Admittedly though...he was creepy in the beginning...must be a family trait ("you know I can take whatever I want" Ren)
    In the original trilogy it was love that brought Anakin back! but after the prequels, a lot of people forgot that...

    Hey there, I was wondering if you guys could put up a video of the whole Romancegate debacle. Its so unfortunate it happened in such an abrupt manner. I feel the whole fandom is crumbling and needs time to cope. I also feel bad for all the time/effort some fans dedicated to write metas, theories, projections and now it seems we were all wrong. I still don't get it to be honest. All the clues were there in TFA. So Rian just scratched everything and wrote a separate movie? It just doesn't bode well for this trilogy if there is no continuity. Plus what a waste not to use the special chemistry Adam/Daisy have on screen. Anyways, end of rant. Would love to hear your opinions on this .. Its really so sad.. And 6 months before the movie comes out!! What a disappointment...😔

    Star Wars Connection,
    Tine, Lee, and Denise,
    First off thanks for the video and talking about the pairing of Reylo.
    I admit I was a bit surprised to find out there was such animosity towards this pairing and anyone that supports it. Earlier in your video you talked of the pair being compared to Fifty Shades of Grey and stuff. I literally rolled my eyes because yeah it is ridiculous. I mean I have NEVER been into Fifty Shades of Grey, I cannot stand it. As you already stated Rey is
    a strong independent lead character so comparing her to the female lead in Fifty shades of Grey is laughable. I would not have Rey any other way, I love the character as she is. I also feel it is past time that they had a female using a lightsaber. I was one of those in the movie going: 'Hey! Why isn't Leia using the force and using a lightsaber?!' That is just how I am I want a strong female lead that can roll with the male leads just as easily. So for those that would dare to claim that just because I believe in Reylo I want a fifty shades situation, I would say: 'Please spare me the ridicule you just want her to be a Skywalker which is boring'.
    The reason I say Rey Skywalker is boring is because it would the most predictable theory out there. Which to me takes away the mystery and makes who Rey is boring. I want to be shocked and awed not go into the next movie and be told she is a Skywalker. (Yawns)
    That being said when I see all the proof provided for Reylo I am thinking actually that makes a lot of sense, I like that. With the mounting evidence that this pairing is more than likely to happen I believe in it more and more. When I first heard about the pair I was like: 'Oooookay not seeing how that will happen.'
    However as time went on I watched more and more Reylo videos on youtube. TH-cam is how I came across the theory not fanfiction even though I do actually write for fanfiction. So as different channels talked about various scenes in the movies. The things said in the books, and comments even made by the actor, and actresses; my own doubt died. It was no longer a thing of not seeing how it would happen. Instead it was: 'Okay this makes more sense and sounds like it is meant to happen.'
    To me this theory sounds more realistic than some theories out there, and I have seen some silly ones out there. Like Rey is a Palpatine? Nahh I am actually hoping Rey is a Kenobi the evidence for that is more sound than the others of her parentage. Which is why I recommend Vincent Vendettas video on the theory, if you're interested. Still I like the Reylo theory more not for the silly idea of comparing it to some dark fantasy, but merely
    the evidence is there and that makes sense. If the evidence was not there, I would call it a silly theory. For me there is no wishful thinking, I see it I call it.
    Now going back to fanfiction, I can tell you that yes there are writers our there that would take a character and make them an OOC (Out of character) I have read those and honestly do not like those stories. But there are other writers that go in and hit the nail on the head. There are some fanfictions out there of Reylo where Rey is exactly as she is in the movie, and more than that the writers still manage to pair them and make good stories. It does not become a matter of Fifty Shades of Rey or anything because that is not how it is meant to go. I myself am working on a Star Wars fanfiction, but my time is being taken up on other stories I write for. That being said ALL my characters, be they actual characters from movies or made up OC (Other character), are strong independent female characters. I don't write weak characters that cannot look after themselves. More importantly I know other writers for fanfiction, and I know they don't write weak characters either. Some of these writers put actual published writers to shame. Their stories and ideas are just that good.
    Also had I gone to Star Wars Celebration I would have asked: 'Where did you get that shirt? Where can I get one?' Because from the image you showed that shirt looks awesome, I really want one. Did you get it online? I wish I could go to Star Wars Celebration, but never have. Even though I am a huge fan and have literally watched, and read everything I could on Star Wars. Big fan here I mean for a while I was a huge Mara Jade fan which it stung when they said that is no longer canon. Because Mara Jade was
    my hero I wanted to see her on the big screen, so that is what upset me more than anything else.
    Reylo? Being a hardcore Star Wars fan does not mean I reject the theory. I know that later in the video you mentioned some Star Wars fans acting ashamed of the those that
    believe in Reylo. I have to ask who are these people? Are they twelve? I mean not to be insulting toward them, but come on look at the evidence. Attacking someone that provides evidence and facts of something is just childish. I could again point out how ridiculous Rey being a Palpatine could be...(Starts laughing) but I think my point is made. (Rey Palpatine equals not enough evidence)
    If there was a lack of evidence than nobody would really buy into the idea. I know I would not buy it if not for the facts. I mean one Reylo fan pointed out the bond mentioned in the books and scripts. Another pointed out how the interrogation scene went. Then another pointed out how the fight went with choker shots being used. It was all down to character reactions, how Rey and Kylo reacted to one another, how Kylo held her when he kidnapped her. How Snoke accused Kylo of having compassion for her. I could go on and on with that list, but this is all evidence pointing towards the Reylo theory, if it was not there than I would say: 'No way Reylo is not happening.'
    An example would be if Kylo knocked out Rey than had a Stormtrooper carry her, or had the interrogation scene played out differently (I.e Kylo did not remove his mask) OR had Kylo actually tried to actively kill Rey in the fight; than I would not even consider the Reylo theory. The evidence though is there and is it shameful that people cannot accept this.
