When I was in band, we would be in our practice room just making up stuff. Often times it would be a riff to get they song going and then a song would emerge. We never made it big, but it was one of my favorite experiences.

That heavy riff in Megalomania around the part where Ozzy sings "Well I feel somethings taking me I don't know where, it's like a trip inside a separate mind.." That riff is monstrous. I love Supertzar too. Pretty much all of Sabotage has some of Tony's meanest riffs ever laid to tape.
The intro to Under the Sun might be the heaviest thing he's ever done. A National Acrobat/Sabbath Bloody Sabbath/Killing Yourself to Live all have epic moments.
Even some songs on Never Say Die are killer. Those heavy riffs at the end of Johnny Blade and Shockwave always stood out to me. You Won't Change Me off Technical Ecstasy is another brilliant one.
The first 3 Sabbath albums have so many. I've always loved the intro and the verse riff in Behind the Wall of Sleep. Even though I much prefer 70's Sabbath over the later stuff, Iommi still hammered out greatness in those years. The Sign of the Southern Cross, Zero the Hero, Computer God, and even Psycho Man has crushing parts that's instantly recognizable as Iommi.
His solo record also is full of them. There is nobody on the planet better than him and I'll always take a riff master over a fancy soloist any day of the week. I'm surprised how many guitarists get awe struck over soloing when I feel it's nowhere near as important as great riffs and songwriting. I'd take Iommi, Hetfield and Malcolm Young over guys like Yngwie, Vai and Satch without a doubt.

Great lists guys. This is one I could get lost in all day. Tony was so prolific and just think, he said he has hundreds more yet to be worked into songs. Long live Sabbath 🤘

I know you did this a while ago but this, as ever, is a great discussion. Yourselves, Popoff and Pardo are amazing and on a par with each other. My go to metal heads! All 4 of you have different views but always real and convincing borne out of loving this music.

Great 👍 job guys. IOMMI and EVH probably my 2 favs. I’ll give you an “ off the wall” song that I love. The “ combo” of billy IDOL and TONY on his solo album 💿 IOMMI Into THE NIGHT - to me. Is tremendous. But, obviously all your guys selections / tremendous. 👍💯

Great video. So many great riffs - Hole in the Sky !. Another great Iommi riff, doomy as hell while not strictly Sabbath is 'Follow the Tears' from Heaven and Hell's album.

I've also always found the H&H and Headless Cross riffs to be cut from the same cloth. I also find the Snowblind riff to sort of be related to those two as well.

The first 3 albums for the most part are just too simple, his riffs became much more intricate, just learn Hand of Doom then learn Spiral Architect and you'll definitely understand the difference in technique. I chose the most creative riffs, that grow on someone, other than Sabbath Bloody Sabbath that is, I chose that because of dynamics, extremely simple but efficient
