To add something to my first comment, I also like your storytelling, and that you're not holding back to tell about bad designs of a panel or a bad job, someone else has done to make your work harder.
I watched the whole video, there's just something relaxing and inspiring about watching someone doing a good quality job. You don't seem to be in a rush doing your job, and still you get a lot done. In my days at work as an automation engineer, I actually come to think of the things, I've seen in your videos, continuously being inspired to do my job better, just on a smaller scale.
Thank you very much for watching and for such a nice comment. The way i feel about bad design is if it goes unchecked then it will continue and be a pain for everyone. If someone calls it out, at least theres something those responsible can do about it.
@jointechcabling9103 hi-viz vests weren't really designed for proper graft, so a busted one is a good sign. Hopefully the chap in the red suit next month sorts you out for 2025! 👍
I have also fell victim to the wet boots on a rainy day, lob the wellies on and the sun is beaming! Much more fun watching someone else graft on a Friday night!
Like wrestling anacondas! Can you explain a bit about what the overall job is? Looks like LV distribution from a central site out to a load of buildings around a campus? Since they’re all from a common bus-bar system I presume the circuit protection is at the far end of each cable?
Believe it or not, thats just for a generator back up!! Its just an office building. Everyone on site thinks its over the top. The breaker is rated at 1600a
Great video. What's the type of grips you used for tightening the gland up. I usually used really large water pump pliers up to 50mm and then for 63 and 75 use either 24 or 36 inch stilsons. Although I do find it depends on how the install is and have had to use 48s on a 75 for a 300 4c before. But the grips you used made it look alot easier to get a good bite without fighting the weight of the grips and slipping. Cheers
Ive got a pair of Stanley Fatmax grips and an offset wrench made by Rigid. They only got up to 63mm glands so then after that i have to get the big guns out. Ive got some 75mm glands coming up in December so ill make a video about them.

I'm self employed and work as a subcontractor to larger electrical firms. Ive been doing this job for 27 years so i now get most of my work through word of mouth and people contact me to tender for jobs. I know thats not easy to do when you first start but its all about how you approach your work and solve the problems. People will notice if you're good at your job, if you are they'll use you more than the others.

Wet feet is a pain in the, well, feet hahaha. Im glad it was recorded on a tuesday, i couldnt have faced actually doing it on a friday, id have cried.

Where did you plan to enter the 2 CPC cables? Or it is going in to the next cabinet?
It went into the same cabinet in-between L2 and L1. There was just enough room to get it in.
