As a teen of the 90s and die hard horror fan, Wishmaster 1 & 2 really do hold a special place in my dark little heart. They are 100% pure uncut 90s Fango-bait and I love them.
The skeleton coming out the dude's skin and immediately becoming spooky is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I cry-laughed the first time I saw it. 😂😂

I love Wishmaster, Great movie with a great cast! The sequel is pretty good, but the rest are pretty easy to not watch! Andrew Divoff ruled this role, and killed many horror characters!
Valentine did not get asked if he wished to escape. He was asked if he would like to escape. When you are upside down and drowning in a box there is not much else to like other than escape.
This film was designed to be a hit. Cameos abound, Fangoria did a lot of coverage on the effects before it even hit theaters, and they picked the perfect actor who could be creepy in both forms. Kind of sad it didn't become a must see series like the other icons, but it should have. Would love a reboot.
An underrated horror movie a killer genie taking the whole be careful what you wish for concept is sm fun. I saw this movie for the first time a couple of months ago after seeing clips of the Djinn and was shocked at how much I liked it. It was nice seeing some horror icon actors pop up as well.
Mr. Divoff who was in the film Toy Soldiers (1991) with Sean Astin was the perfect villain in this one as well. Nice reaction. It's been a while since I've seen this one. One wish: Immune from prosecution over the entire Earth.
i also mentioned toy soldiers in comments..its one of my fav 90s movies..watched it alot as a kid..he can be very intense in his roles "DID YOU THINK I WAS KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!" lol dam bro chill! intense film!
This is great to see Robert Englund, Kane Hodder and Tony Todd be the victims instead of the killers. I guess this what they mean by poetic justice. Seriously though this is a very unique horror film that doesn't hold back on the gore.
5:56 the guy the plays the crane/dock worker: the late Joseph Pilato-- who most famously and iconically played the ruthless and insane Captain Henry Rhodes, in George A. Romero’s DAY OF THE DEAD(1985)

Saw this in theaters in 97. Awesome. Horror was dead in the 90s. Horror came to theaters maybe 1 movie every 3 months. Total opposite of 80s which was every friday!
Fun fact, demon genies are actually a thing. They are known as ifrits, and while it is never stated, it is implied that the big bad of this movie is actually Iblis.
My 3 wishes; 1- I wish that all my wishes are granted true to the intent of that wish. 2- I wish that there is no unintended consequences of any kind, anywhere or any when from my wishes. 3- I wish that all my wishes come true.
I personally love that the expert was called Dr Derleth, in reference to August Derleth, who was an early 20th C. American writer, who was notably the first person to ever publish a book of HP Lovecraft's collected works and also made his own contributions to the Mythos and to cosmic horror in general. Very fitting for a movie that feels quite Lovecraftian. Also, as well as Kane Hodder and the many horror alumni and references, there was also frequent use of that familiar Friday the 13th "sting" littered throughout the score
This reminds me of the X-files series which had a djinn ad it was like this. It was a pretty fun episode so i enjoyed it like i did this film and some of the others despite the bad cgi of this movie.
Commenting even before watching the video: I'm so effing thrilled that you've decided to tackle this one! It's a darn fine class b style masterpiece, and with a Wes craven seal of approval at that! And Divoff is soooo good here, it's a shame this performance didn't make him into more of a mainstream act.
Ohhh wishmaster! Watched this on theater when It was released, so good you guys reacted to this one. I know it's out of patreon but keep in mind to react to The Platform, a psychological horror made in Spain 😮😮
So full of horror movie alumni 11:10: this scene, Homeless Guy: played by Buck Flowers, Pharmacy Manager: played by Reggie Bannister, who played “Reggie” from Phantasm film franchise, along with this film narrator, Angus Scrimm, the Tall Man, also from Phantasm! ❤
I always thought the djinn would have fit right in at a TGIFridays. He’d be like “Can I offer you ssszzomethingah too nnibble on? Bite sszzized Mac and cheeeezzze ballzzzzss porhappsszz? Or some jalapeño popperzzzzz?” And the customer would be all turned off by the pushiness and be all dismissive and be like “ Yeah, aahhh, no thanks. Gonna need a minute to look at the menu here. But, ya know, thanks? ( weirdo)” And the djinn would have to just walk away all grumbly with his suspenders on. And is subjected to having to ask Kevin, the store manager, “if it’s cool that he takes his 15 now”. He DOES smoke.🤪🤪
Yep this definitely wasn't the Genie from Aladdin lol, Gotta love all the horror icons in this one, you would just have to take days to figure out every loop hole possible to make a wish and even then you'd probably forget or overlook something, way too risky. Also, I'm already subbed to both as well!
A surprisingly fun low budget horror. I remember watching these 20 odd years ago on Sci-Fright...reminds me of the Leprechaun franchise, another silly but fun series of films.

I saw the trailer for the others and it just looks like a b style movie no offence to those who made them of course. Any way to have the raspy voice the actor put jellybeans in his mouth and one time he almost choked and had to go to the hospital because of that but it makes for a more scary voice so that is something any way. Love this movie so very much and I own them both as well.
The monster at 30:14 is possibly The Man in the Beaver Hat from London After Midnight 1927, played by Lon Chaney who wore wire fittings to force his eyes open wide and wore sharpened teeth. Clothing is not an exact match though so not sure.
