Hey. Just wanted to reach out and say it’s awesome to see you living your dreams despite your health struggles. I was diagnosed with lupus at age 17. I just turned 30 and had to start dialysis this year. Everything you said about just living your life is very relatable. Thank you for sharing.
The impact that you have created with this channel is extraordinary for the positive energy that you took on the challenge to repair the boat. An extraordinary message for all those who said that it could not be achieved and for many others who, like you, have their own dreams and will see inspiration in your story to jump into living them. Well done!
So impressed you got everything back together! You had the interior in a million pieces and you managed to get all back together and looking great. Great job! Happy Holidays! Can’t wait to see you in the wind! Peace
We REALLY don’t need to know how much YOU spent on everything... we NEED to know how much WE should budget to do the same. So please think as if ‘ If we had this to do again, how much would we budget for initial purchase, repairs, upgrades on existing yacht, living expenses, etc?’
I'm still watching (in the middle). So many things to say, but just had to jump in and say I was so touched by the way Brett just jumped in and pulled back Jade's hair in the most tender of ways while she was using rolling pin. It's the little things! You 2 have an amazing relationship! I hope it is as solid and tender in real life as it is on TH-cam...but something tells me it's that and even better! The world needs more people like the 2 of you!!
Ok..a but further now..listening as I run errands. Almost had a car accident laughing so hard regarding Jade's retirement plan... mom and daughters all living together after all their husband's die. lmao! Watch out Brett...they may be Black Widows ;). Seriously, I hope that never happens and you two have a very long and happy life together filled with the love that overflows from you both so naturally!! ❤ Thanks for the burst of laughter though, Jade! Much appreciated ;)
I think that you guys and and dan and cika from sailing uma will be great friends when you can finally get off the hook and put the sails up.. you all are so much alike
It's so great to see someone living a go getter life and being chronically ill. I am chronically ill with very similar limitations as Jade. I am learning what it is like to live this life.
Closed Captions - This video is so awesomely long that it's taking TH-cam forever to populate captions. Standby they are coming!! Also - This was our first video with a new camera and new microphone (there's a story there lol) So we apologize the sound is a bit all over the place!
@@Zilenz1 Yeah of course.... This was our first video using our new camera and microphone. We had the old set up pretty figured out but now we need to re learn how to balance it out!
@@Zilenz1 I can tell you it may just be due to distance from microphone and not adjusting the pitch. Over the years I learned to modify the sound through out my videos and now on this new channel of mine I am still learning. Like watch Cable at 100 to hear the the movies and the commercial comes on and gives you a concussion broken ear drums and a mild coronary episode.
I just started watching this video and the boat looks terrific. But as an IT guy I want to give a small bit of advice. If you have 4 hard drives worth of data then buy 4 more and duplicate them all and then leave one copy with friends, parent or somewhere safe. I've seen grown men cry when their hard drive crashed, and believe me, a boat is not a good place for hard drives. It would be awful if you lost that data. I look forward to the future videos.
Yep. Theres an old saying in IT. If you dont have data backed up twice (so 3 copies) then you never wanted to keep it. Keep the 3 copies on at least 2 sites if not 3 sites. Hard drives do die more often than you think
As another IT guy, get an undelete program and keep 3 copies in different locations and test that the data is good in all three copies. You might want to upload data to the cloud to glacier storage as a third backup. The rule is when it comes to backing up data, it is best to be paranoid...
I would add to all this advice to get yourself an SSD or three, rather than spinning rust drives, and a waterproof container to stash it/them in. Much more resistant to the bumps and the so forth It will experience on a boat. Probably a way to take a Raspberry Pi and turn it into some kind of server that you can automatically back your stuff up on. You could also use it as a media server while you're out in the middle of the ocean with no internet service.

Merry Christmas! I was confused for a moment and thought you were joking about it being your boat, but it looks GREAT! Despite your backlog of footage, I'm anxious to see everything that happened from last week's video to this one. There is a lot that you did in reassembling all the pieces and I want to see how you did it. Stay safe.
Hi from Waxhaw, NC. I am a long time member of your channel. Whenever we have burned on or just plan stuck on stuff, we add water to it, boil and it comes right off. Saves on spending time scouring my pots and pans. The word you're looking for is "Steward". As in, being a good steward of our environment; giving back and protecting that which God has given us. You are a gifted artist - love the picture you showed us of your dog. Both of you are so talented. To some, God gives only one gift to others He gives multiple talents - you both have been blessed. God bless you both and I look forward to following your channel for many years to come. p.r.morehouse - author
PV was awesome in high school! YEAH, another nut case like myself. I'm still friends with two of my teammates who vaulted. Great episode and Jade, we are all here for you as you deal with this new issue in your life.
I started watching your videos at the end and I wasn't interested thinking that you were a couple of rich kids enjoying an extraordinary boat and one day, out of curiosity I went back to the beginning of the story and I was really impressed. I congratulate you, you deserve the boat you have and you deserve to enjoy it
Sounds like a great plan on filming, editing and keeping us in videos. Enjoy your life first. Have learned a lot of the amazing progress of going from salvage to end product. Wishing you both safe passage through the pandemic.
I absolutely love this casual and fun Q&A format. I'm so happy you've splashed already! Love the dogs. Love the plans. Love the ideas. Totally looking forward to jumping into 2021 with you guys ❤️ Brett's house was a camper, right? A class C maybe? Jade, was yours Rapunzel's tower..?
I love how your tiny boat kitchen is an upgrade to your lifestyle. "Look, it's an oven that actually works.' Finding joy in the smallest delights is key to life long satisfaction.
Happy for you guys to get that monster boat back in the water. Glad that you are still together, can only imagine the stress of deconstructing and reconstructing everything that you had to remove to rebuild the grid. Spring is right around the corner, good luck with your next phase!
Wow! ....So impressed. I’m sure you guys are extremely proud and relieved that you are finally approaching the “start” of the next phase to sailing the globe. You two have captivated the interests, imagination and support of so many followers. The many videos over the last 6 months have demonstrated what could only be described as a monumental accomplishment through mostly hard work, commitment and ambition. Not surprisingly, you have shown yourselves to be extremely thoughtful and resourceful in your efforts. This last video seems to be the first time you’ve been willing to provide more insight into your personal history, background and goals. Your collective intelligence and talent are again highlighted along with your deep personal commitment to each other. However, what also comes through is a sense of traditional values and sensibility and wish for privacy that seems to be at odds with your new career path as utube bloggers. As stated , the material accomplishments of rebuilding your boat are all the more incredible in light of the fact that you appear to have limited technical or engineering skills pertaining to boat building. You’re videos don’t appear to be targeted towards the diy “how to” audience. Additionally, you’ve been extremely guarded when discussing any resources or advice in how to proceed with the various stages of your project. I do understand the need/desire to do things “your way”. We all feel that way and we all get more stubborn in that regard as we get older. Personally, I am quite old, especially in relation to you kids. But I certainly remember the ambition and desire to tackle similar challenges at a similar time in my life. The fact that you took on this endeavor by jumping in with both feet and succeeded! .....will give you two a solid footing to last the rest of your days. Regards and long life.
We had a sheep dog when we were cruising , Thought every dolphin was a sheep , So glad youv splashed , Now arnt you glad , Lifes going to get better every day - Lifes not a rehearsal , Enjoy .
Sorry I’m still catching up on videos something about life getting in the way. Thanks heaps for sharing so much. Looking forward to watching the rest of the refit and where you go from there. Tonga is amazing. I’ve only been there for work so very limited stays of 2 nights or so but such a genuine, caring, friendly people. Cheers from Australia.
Truely love being a part of you guys journey. Much peace and happiness you’ve given to me and now I you. Stay true, stay in love with each other and stay in love with the sea. Deepest respect and my heart sings with thee!
Good choice to blast through the boat to get in the water and sail to warmer waters. Learning how to pace yourself so you don't break is quite a challenge. My best to you as you learn what those "I have to stop at this point." signs are.
DHC 8, one of the best turboprops with an impeccable safety record. I flew in one through a major snow storm from Baltimore to Newark, and when the de-icing boots were deployed, and the ice got thrown against the outside of the cabin, EVERYONE got really quiet. But after researching it, that's what it's supposed to do. I kissed the ground when we got in safely. Congrats on getting your boat launched. Honestly thought it wouldn't happen.
Brett built a Bus Stop Shelter. Jade built a DIY Outhouse. Was thinking Penny was American Foxhound. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Arthur Dent takes a towel with him on his travels. Well Chosen Jade ! 😎
I don't know about anyone else, but I could almost literally watch dogs playing all day long...lol. Really like your channel by the way. You two seem super genuine and have good spirits through your boat rebuild. Looking forward to seeing you guys out on the water. Much luck and positive thoughts for your future.
Just finished watching this one. Like me, most people watching your adventures will be stuck in a state/government system. We work to live. You have got out of this system and your eyes are showing how life should be 😀
Tony & Susan here, we are sure you saw the two part review/critique of your built, “cannot remember the channel name” we thought it was fair and noticed he did not steal any of your content. Any comment on that. We are vary impressed with your staying on task and completing the project. We will see you out on the water. Soon.
I, for one, don't care a whit about the backlog. I am totally pleased, thrilled, and generally happy that you got it all put back together and are in the water. We lived on a sailboat back in the 90's and didn't have to deal with anything like what you had to do. If you don't count pulling and engine on a lift and have it twirling slowly in the main salon for almost a week while I and a diesel marine mechanic worked on it. I am pleased you are waiting on the mast! Good job and Merry Christmas!
I've got a guess on the airline...it has to be somewhat small and fly at low altitudes. SMALL due to the relaxed grooming rules allowing for the man bun! and Low altitudes as the beard would be against regulations if flying above 10K due to emergency oxygen mask rules for pilots. Mustaches are good to go. Beards not so much as far as I understand.
Loved seeing the interior. Great job! And understand that it takes a long time to edit. You did a great job getting your weekly videos boiled down to an enjoyable length, and your editing effort really paid off. Please keep doing it! And happy holidays.
I knew you two were Christians before ever watching this video and you mentioning you met in church. Just from your mannerisms, choice of words and the purity in your content and the class in which you both conduct yourselves on camera, it's clear you two carry a very awesome witness. I truly appreciate your channel for the genuine nature you present and the wholesome nature of your content. Cant wait for more! :-)
Kind of stumbled onto your channel by accident a while back and was immediately intrigued. Subscribed that minute. You both have great personalities. As for your boat, I think it's a great testament to how well it was built. I mean it continued to sail four more years after it was damaged. Y'all definitely built it stronger and better. Congratulations on getting the boat done and in the water. I am looking forward to seeing what your future holds. Merry Christmas y'all. Much love from Georgia.
Go Team Evans!!! Job well done!! Congrats... The fact you got that interior back together is impressive. I was watching you take it apart and thought... holy shit... I would've ended up with a box of leftover parts.. Jade, your dog sketch is awesome.. Can't wait to see your gallery. Be safe guys. 👍
It seems to me that sailing and living serendipitously goes hand and hand. Being safe and maintenance would be the focus of each day... Excited for you both.
Merry Christmas Jade and Brett! And many congrats getting you boat launched! This is a truly unique video. Showing how far you have got made myday, I pay true respect to your efforts and perseverance. Hat off! I‘m looking forward to the videos of the repairs and even more to the ones about your nautical voyages. Take care guys!
a towel? Hitch Hiker's Guide the Galaxy - man! @ 55:36 Good choice! So long and thanks for ALL the fish! We could, all meet at the Restaurant at The End of the Universe*! * - Void where prohibited. Your mileage will vary. Fair winds!
Hi , If you have no bits left over , Well done . She floats and no leaks , all the better .An amazing work program and an enjoyable trip along with you .Take care , Happy new Year .
Really enjoyed the video guys, a really good insight, I suppose the balancing act between sharing enough but keeping your privacy is a difficult one, so thanks for sharing!
Great episode. Love the Q&A format over other channels’ live streams. Please update us on the cost of the boat and the refit - many other sailing channels have. You and Parlay Revival are the only two addressing salvage boats. Maybe I can afford a salvaged boat!
Even though this is an old video I have loved learning about you two and your lives. So wonderful. The two of you are just so adorable and so likable. You definitely need to pass your gene pool on to this hate filled world . Some light to add when the time is right. XO
Highly recommend the Scottish Highlands and Islands - there's some beautiful places with amazing clear water up there! Harris, Skye, the Orkneys etc are all just stunning.
Ok, so I just started watching from the beginning. Your boat is absolutely beautiful! After seeing it stripped I couldn’t believe seeing y’all in the water. Now I’m watching you in the Bahamas and what a beautiful life you have on her. You two are enjoyable to watch as a couple and I had became curious about your lives so I started from the beginning…and this is my favorite so far because you’ve answered all my questions. As always, I want to thank you for sharing your lives with us. Love from Rebecca in South Carolina! God bless you both and keep you safe in his hands.❤️
Merry Christmas, and love watching your videos. Your Flight instructor Jim A. suggested your adventure, and I'm glad he did. We are sailboat mates with a few other friends that have been on a few sailing adventures, have another trip planned in April... hopefully. Thank you, and Happy New Year!
I can’t wait to watch every minute of this video! You two are really amazing, the way that you’ve done the incredibly labor intensive fiberglassing of your keel!
The really good thing that this episode proved - both of you are better at fiberglassing than you are at ginger breading. And for now that's great. Your future will change many times before you get there. Keep up the good work and get to the sailing part.
WoW !!! What a surprise! I thought it will take another 2 to 3 months of watching you guys finish the boat! Congratulations and Merry Christmas to you 4 !
Madagascar #1 destination. Not sure of your Autoimmune disease Jade, but I’ve had RA for 20 years with 9 orthopedic surgeries to repair damage. I look forward to see how your diet helps. My gluten free has not helped. Some days I stay in bed all day, others I’m 90-nothing, almost like I’m trying to make up for the down time
You two are a breath of fresh air and I'm amazed at the matter of fact way you approached the fiberglass work. That would have scared off most boat owners for sure. You may want to consider a crew for long crossings. Crossing the Pacific is a long haul and having experienced folks on board to bust up the time spent on watch will make your trip a lot easier. Also take a long look at the Australian regs on bringing dogs into their waters. It can be problematic.
You two are a hoot. Congratulations on the splash your videos are very uplifting can’t wait to see your adventures. Won’t be long before TH-cam is your full time job. You both have an awesome personality. I personally look forward to your posts every week not only to see the progress you’ve made but to also see you two goofballs have fun.
Our sail boat is a couple marinas over from yours in the same town (don't worry I won't say where😉). Totally bummed we didn't have the chance to meet you. Hope you guys have the awesomest time following your dream!!! Best of luck to you both and GREAT JOB on the repairs.
No captions yet, thanks YT, just turned up the audio since no one else at home, they wouldn't understand the thrill I get out of watching your accomplishments. Congrats on splashing! Looking forward to your adventures so I can vicariously live them!

For good reef diving , The Red Sea! I worked on a dive boat there a long time ago , great diving !! Loved the way you worked on the boat , love the boat too , you get on so well together keep on you tubing ...
Well done guys. My wife and I just watched the Q & A and loved getting to know you a little better. Two things Stick to your privacy regarding your finances. We admire that big time. We are looking forward to you coming to Australia, our home, and fingers crossed for a catch up. Cheers
Jade, As you experiment with diets for your condition, consider no grains, and a low lectin diet (no nightshade veggies), etc. I feel that's the best diet I've come across, but I know all people are different.
Instant Pot tip. It is normal to have some food burnt suck to the bottom of the pot. The easiest way to clean it is to soak it and if that doesn't work boil water in it. This will make clean up easier.
Not meaning to step on too many toes here however your friend from “how to sailing” did a couple of episodes regarding the two of you and I mentioned that I would look at certain things he called costs that really aren’t, at least to me, and other costs we disagreed on had more to do with where do you put it in the ledger, in the column for it’s a salvage boat or this is just part of the cost of owning a boat. Anyway, enjoy your videos and have been here since you were on the phone with the auction to buy the boat and hopefully get to enjoy your videos for sometime to come and may it be a long time. Happy holidays to you and may the new year bring you happiness and joy.
Hers: Rapunzel's Tower and His: A brown live aboard, self sustaining, farm combine. Neat video. Watched it in two segments. Both halves equally enjoyable.

The boat looks amazing, well done and have a great christmas.
I like the real time updates, maybe consider having one once a quarter. My wife and I like that you two met in church.
Wonderful being part of your journey.. well done 👍
Soon.
You both are so fun to watch. Can’t wait to see your sailing posts.
I agree. Don't bother with the backlog. Move forward. We're all dying to see your next adventures on the water.
So excited for you. I was totally surprised to see that you launched! Amazing! Can’t wait to see the updates that get you into the water someday.
58:00 mark, looks like Penny is interviewing you. Hysterical.
a towel? Hitch Hiker's Guide the Galaxy - man!
@ 55:36
Good choice! So long and thanks for ALL the fish!
We could, all meet at the Restaurant at The End of the Universe*!
* - Void where prohibited. Your mileage will vary. Fair winds!
Always bring a towel.
Wanna get high? - Towlie.
Merry Christmas. I admire your perserverience and attention to detail. Great job with the hull repairs!
XO
It was nice of you to introduce who you are . I'm looking forward to following you on your journeys !
Merry Christmas !
Happy anniversary on the Marine Corps' birthday! Well Done!
Highly recommend the Scottish Highlands and Islands - there's some beautiful places with amazing clear water up there! Harris, Skye, the Orkneys etc are all just stunning.
Can't believe no one mentioned A towel is the most important item a Hitchhiker can carry........ Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy...
Wow! What an amazing job guys! Admiration! Respect!
I think it's a sand crawler and the weasley's house, but I could be waaaaay off 😂 love you guys
Nice!
Thank you for all you bring to this channel!
You guys are great. Merry Christmas. Jade is a classic and natural beauty with no vocal fry!! Keep them coming
You two are so positive and enjoyable to listen to. Great video and presentation of you two’s likes.
I can’t wait to watch every minute of this video! You two are really amazing, the way that you’ve done the incredibly labor intensive fiberglassing of your keel!
So good to see you in the cabin after your enormous amount of hard work completely understandable for video production delay living comes first
Awesome video, thank you for taking the time to make and share
The really good thing that this episode proved - both of you are better at fiberglassing than you are at ginger breading. And for now that's great. Your future will change many times before you get there. Keep up the good work and get to the sailing part.
Damn. I didn't realize how much I'd missed the dogs ! Surprised myself.
WoW !!! What a surprise! I thought it will take another 2 to 3 months of watching you guys finish the boat! Congratulations and Merry Christmas to you 4 !
Roll models for getting it done! You won and we enjoyed watching your success !!!
Madagascar #1 destination. Not sure of your Autoimmune disease Jade, but I’ve had RA for 20 years with 9 orthopedic surgeries to repair damage. I look forward to see how your diet helps. My gluten free has not helped. Some days I stay in bed all day, others I’m 90-nothing, almost like I’m trying to make up for the down time
So you guys are in the water for real! dang man, that's the best part!
Stay as real as you are guys, really love finding your channel. You are both so very natural in front of the camera.
Love to see u guys so happy after all the hard labor sitting relaxte in your new home 👍🏻 greetings from Holland
Such a fun video, you two! It was cool that you brought us up to date with this video.
“A towel, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Yeah, Inwas waiting for her to mention the signaling of spaceships for hitchhiking purposes. Don't Panic...

Why are you doing this. I agree, why not?
Such an amazing update guys. Wondering if you needed to motor south for mast installation.
Great video, however, I am ready for the continuation of the Boat Repair!
Glad to see your boat looking great!....Merry Christmas...and better new year!
Great to see you in the water. I want to see how you got the interior back together over all the new glass. The Dash 8 is a great plane, CAVU wishes.
Two things
Stick to your privacy regarding your finances. We admire that big time.
We are looking forward to you coming to Australia, our home, and fingers crossed for a catch up. Cheers
When ever something burns in pot/pan before scraping put enough water to cover + 1” and bring to boil clean ASAP. Works for me.
Love to see a tour of the completed boat, thanks for sharing!
Jade, As you experiment with diets for your condition, consider no grains, and a low lectin diet (no nightshade veggies), etc. I feel that's the best diet I've come across, but I know all people are different.
i agree. fasting for a week and then add one food type at a time is the way to go..,.consider red meat diet
